- ›› I can't believe this day is finally here! I'm so excited to introduce you all to Welbeck's first foal :) I've included videos and pictures from the actual foaling and talked you guys through what happened at each step. I hope you enjoy and also like the name we've chosen!

My God, he is adorable! And Welbeck...wow! I almost take as long to make myself a coffee as she did to give birth. Still something of a speed queen, even outside the arean. Lol. Super happy that everyone is healthy and keeping my fingers crossed for an equally as happy Fiona and a little filly.

I named my horse Higgins, and I call him Higgy Wiggy which got shortened to Wiggy lol so we basically have horses with the same name! Higgs is also a chestnut, sort of a bit lighter liver chestnut color. Definitely not as dark as most livers but definitely darker than a normal chestnut. I love him! Love your channel and all the horses!!

So happy Wellbeck had such a smooth foaling & she did amazingly for a maiden mare, bless her. Wiggy (cute name) is stunning and look at the length of those legs on him! He is a good size for being a first foal too. Love his show name, thats what we did with naming foals too, sire and dam's names together somehow. But anyway enough of my rambling, just so excited to finally see him lol, congrats again hun and look forward to seeing lots more of his ongoing progress.❤😘

OMG -- CONGRATULATIONS -- ADORABLENESS. And what a terrific name. He is a little hippity, hoppity Wiggy. Your Mom and Dad are both legends with your horses. Oh, my, his bouncing around is just so stinking cute. I couldn't take my eyes off him. And wonderful that Welbeck is such a good mom for a maiden mare. I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!! And there is still another to come. Seeing them together, I'm not sure how anyone will ever get anything done again; I mean two foals playing together -- is there anything better than that. And while all you know as a vet stressed you out a little, it stood you in good sted too, because if there was anything even slightly wrong, you'd be able to deal with it immediately (like little Wiggy's enema :) Btw, he looks like he's quite a big first foal; does he seem big for a first foal to you (of course, it is hard to tell from just the video, but he looks tall to me). Can't wait to see more Welbeck and Wiggy :)))))

@@HollyLenahanSJ Thanks for the confirmation; Wiggy is a big boy for a first foal. I had to watch your footage of him again, Holly. I came back to see if you posted anything else about Welbeck and Wiggy and since its not up yet; I just rewatched Wiggy jumping and little bucking about in the stall with Welbeck. HE IS THE CUTEST FOAL I'VE EVER SEEN. I can't take my eyes off him either and can't wait to see more footage when you have time to post it. Thanks again. So delighted for you.

The best foaling vid and explanation I’ve seen. Very glad all is well!!! Congrats!
That was about text book as it gets. Once Wiggys shoulders were out, bag broke and no hip lock, job done. How much of a relief is it when they finally drink, our stud has had 100's of foals but that sound never gets old! And i have a feeling that foal number 2 will be early, seen it so many times that when mares that are closely stabled. Once the first mare has foaled the second has to join in. Have you used PH testing strips on the mares milk, as soon as you have yellow on the strip you have about 12 hours before foaling.

And does anyone know what day it is? Tues, April 20 the day before Horse Inspections for Land Rover Kentucky 5* 3 day event for which I do hospitality for the ground jury and should be sleeping. And what did I do? Checked one last time to see if Holly posted a video...and of course had to stay up and watch it twice! Bravo Welbeck! Congratulations Holly!

He’s so cute! Congratulations! I like his name. There’s a halter you can buy and it can tell you when a horse lays down, and other stuff like foaling. It’s sort of cool. Cant wait to see him grow up.

Congrats! We just bought a barely 3 yr old Halflinger from a herd dispersal... and just discovered last week that she's pregnant :O! We're freaking out quite a bit and hoping for just the sort of smooth delivery that you've been blessed with. We're trying to find her a midwife to board her, but we have no idea when she's going to give birth. I'm so glad everything went so well for Welbeck! Luck to Fiona!
