My husband, was almost gone 3 times= World War II , Vietnam , entire unit passed,
a sargeant... Fist time seeing him , in a film , Surfing, Flipped! He took me surfing
Santa Monica---pushed me , to
sur--on his board (little one, I heard him scream !while I was riding 7 mins. In heaven! Together 49 yrs!
It's funny because people have no idea how scary surfing is. This raw just shows how fast and terrifying Teahupo'o is. These guys are nuts!
Try surfing at Nazare , then youll see scary , and im not saying this isnt amazing and this guys are amazing , but Nazare is fucking SCARY
@@raiospartaonick Well, I haven't been to Teahupoo yet but at least Nazare just beats you up really good instead of slicing you into pieces. Totally agree that the place itself is scary af, especially when it's foggy though.
@@raiospartaonick Nazare may be big, but teahupo'o is heavy. they are different monsters. Narare is like Everest where as Teahupo'o is like the Mariana trench. the barrel is deep, dark and heavy. ontop of that, you have a live reef and let me tell you, i have been there, it is not deep.
@@raiospartaonick
teahupo is more dangerous than nazare. Teahupo is a faster and thicker wave that turns itself inside out and then slams you into a sharp reef. Nazare just has height which is still dangerous but the fatality rates don’t lie, teahupo is the most dangerous wave
Thank you immensely. This raw footage is such a better experience than the regular mostly slowmo vids being produced. I felt like I was actually in the boat with you. The POV hold downs, the chaos around boats, the sounds of shock in people’s voices, all made my viewing intense & emotional.
Job well done.
27.41 that was the biggest wave and biggest bail of the day............brilliant brilliant brilliant
Finally one surf video without that annoying background music! Awesome! Thanks, this is top!

No music no slo mo. Best video ever
I love how everyone is on the same wave mentally and sometimes literally. Everyone’s a team out there, I love it!
I totally agree!. I think the main reason is the seriousness of waves like these Really bring people together. I'm sure most people out there have gone to new spots and the locals were dix but if you shred then maybe you'll get some warranted respect. It was same with skateboarding in my day and the best times were when everyone is just stoked on everyone else ripping it and sharing the whole experience!.
No big waves riding videos without Healey this guy is such a beast !
All we want to see here! Turned out incredible. The craziest wave at its best. Some Drama, differenct angles short interviews.... nailed it!!! Excited to see more like this!!! Keep it coming Powerlines! A bibg fat thumbs up !! The biggest I gave in a while!
Every time I watch this every 2-3 months, every second of it gets better. It's like you add things to it, except you don't. One of the best surfing videos out there. Period.
I must have watched this video 15 times, it NEVER gets old.
I’m commenting 2 years late. Your very fortunate to have been there and captured this insane natural phenomenon. Thanks for sharing Garrett’s POV and other angles from his tow in wave. It’s comical how the GoPro makes this look “ soft and inviting “. It’s my dream to get to watch a wave like this when it’s firing in person. My reality, it’s probably not gonna happen. Thanks so much for creating these edits! My jaw was on the floor once the monster tow ins started, watching the surfers get pulled up the face faster than they can descend is unbelievable. The fact that people put themselves in these situations, and people like you are there to capture it is awesome. Thanks again, from Charm City Maryland! Liked and subbed
I love the raw footage and live sound! Will probably watch every day for a while.
A superb film - amazing pictures of these immense waves !
So sick. I've never seen that strait on perspective of Chops from the"end of the road" at the beginning of the edit. HEAVING!
That was some sick shit! Those waves at Teahupo'o amaze me. There is no back to those waves! It's like the whole ocean is behind that wave! Awesome video!
That is why its dangerous. Its a thicc wave. And there's a reef right there in the bottom.
Those sets are relentless... So little interval between waves if you need to go rescue someone.
And what about the guy who kicked out the back last minute, only to see Koa's monster wave coming straight at him...
You witnessed something very special, thanks for sharing
awesome footage good to see the whole wave and aftermath no cutaways or edits!
The. Best. Surfing. Footage. Ever. And I’ve been watching surfing videos since I was a teenager going to the Surf Theater in Huntington in the mid 70s. It truly captures the chaos, fear and elation of a big day in the water. Truly remarkable. Please never delete this post
Epic footage, thank you. It’s great to see what happens before and after the wave. Especially with big waves. That’s the most exciting part!
Completely wonderful… Love the raw footage and the sounds, great with no music, Thank you!
excelent video mate, loving these raw footage...
That wave is beautiful! But terrifying at the same time.
Thanks for posting. This gives a great perspective of what is known as an 'epic swell' in Tahiti. I remember when Poto was the only surfer known to come out of Tahiti, and no one had ANY knowledge of this wave. It took the tow in surfers to nail it, then the paddle surfers conquer and claim the wave.
I couldn't imagine traveling that far (from the US mainland), catching & MAKING the wave of my life, only to have to dodge a dozen or so boats sitting in the channel to watch the surfers.
Amazing. Thanks for video wish I was there.
Wow....the BEST VIDEO on CZcams!!! No music, just shredding!
Great content. I could watch Teahupo’s for hours.
Had to watch again. Absolutely mental!! Like others said. It's like being there. Props to those legends charging that wave. Well done power lines!! Yeeewww 🤙
I love how you guys all look out for one another. I feel like when there are a lot of you out there it also helps keep the sharks away.
This is the best video I ever seen in my life..might be the best video ever made of how to get in . Now I dont want to surf..Awesome
Thanks for putting in those full tow in shots. Never seen that before
That's was awesome. Best vid I've seen in years
GREAT VIDEO!!! Love the raw sound!!!
One of the best i have ever watched.. Fantastic ! Those Men are STUDS . Lets see one 52 Million dollar a year pro golfer do that.
Seriously, this is one of the sickest things I've ever seen on CZcams, new top 10, best of 2020 for me. Soundtrack excellent, definitely agree, no stupid music. Just raw, amazing gladiators at one of the gnarliest reefs on the planet. OMFG.
Great footage Kurt. Look pretty gnarly out there. Look like a lot of Carnage in the water. Glad no one was killed and everyone made it home safe. Keep up the good work.
Great video! Thanks guys!🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊
Great video... ! Exceptional athletes out there for sure, ski crews and all!
Truly one of the BEST videos on CZcams! In ANY subject!!! but certainly for surfing. This video deserves accolades and awards...as does every single surfer videographer and jetskier who participated on this occasion.
Awesome raw video.loved hold down parts.
That is absolutely crazy how close to the impact zone those boats are!
man I can't wait to surf this joint. like the comment before great video love the raw footage the sound and watching the ones go unridden and everything. thumbs up
That guy caught inside at 29:40 is the craziest thing I've ever seen
damn I had to watch that couple of times cause it's so quick, but he basically tries to dive under but kinda dives face first into that huge brick wall of a lip, I can't imagine the beating he recieved, he's lucky to be alive..
In my opinion his only hope was attempt a duck dive or ditch and dive. Don't get me wrong it's to shallow to complete a deep duck dive but even with enough depth there's no duck diving this size regardless.
Could Slo Mo the clip but there's a lot of people who don't care for much slow mo.
@@PowerlinesProductions I slow mo'd it on youtube in the settings at 0.25 speed it's so even more hardcore to watch when you realise it was him on the wave before being towed in, he left his drop way too late, fell out of the lip wiping out with board still strapped to his feet, then bobs up to see that 'thing' in front of him to deal with...fmd talk about pay your dues...jesus fkin christ lol.
It gives you a sense of the speed and power when you see how far these guys keep gliding off the back of the wave. Crazy!
Thank you powerlines for documenting and sharing surfing history !!
Powerlines Productions I also love all your videos from mavericks . Especially the old ones showing the 90's Santa Cruz crew .
This channel is FANTASTIC! IMO this is the most effective way of documentary and portrayal of what actually goes down here. Chills down my spine. Much respect
Insane. The raw footage is the best!!!!!!!
I never get sick of watching footage of Teahupo
Different breed of human these surfers are. Mind blowing! Limitless courage and bravery
Super gnarly, I almost couldn't watch.
Brilliant outstanding film of surfing... you guys really understand how to film edit and interview - it's the next best thing to actually being there, thank you!
24:10 The little Shaka by Pete Mel. Coolest claim in the history of man.
That's gotta be the best 30 minute surf video of all time!! That was sick!! Takes big f@3king balls to charge that!!! First time I saw Peter Mel charging. I think he's a great commentator for the WSL events. Good to see him in action :)
The power of Teahupo'o is to be respected and is nothing to mess with.
Even though it was a relatively small wave for Laird Hamilton ( 7:03 ) he shows why his name is so famous in the surfing world. His burst of speed from the start puts him more in control to slice across the face of the wave safely.
6 years later finally. Awesome video.
Look carefully at 4:30 as nathan fletcher wipeout another one in black suit got sucked by the wave and goes over the freaking fall.
10:09 DAN RYAN EPIC WIPEOUT***
27:39 KOA’s epic wave towed by king Laird Hamilton !
Didn't have a good place to put it up, CZcams was the answer. We did a movie immediately following this session titled "Forecast: Barrels"
Couldn’t give you enuf thumbs up and subs . Thanks for the post man feels like where in the lineup .
Best footage I’ve seen of that sea monster we call Teahupo’o
Raw footage is the best! As close to being there as being there.
10:09 Is pretty much how I would expect myself to end up on my bodyboard. lol This footage is insane!!
What a video!! Amazing!! Total respect for all!
Anyone else finding themselves leaning toward the channel, cannot figure also the guys that drop in at the last moment only to find the bottom squared up thats just freekin mad, those big ones look twice as big as the others, big balls crew you rock........
Two thumbs up if I could. Awesome footage and agree with the comments about the raw footage without putting music over it. Love hearing the savage beast and the comments from the channel. SICK day and major kudos to those paddling!
thx for that awesome video
How Mother Nature have created this mortal beauty of a wave ... this is so great, no music just the real experience of this spectacle
It has to be sick dropping in on one of them . 👍👍👍 What a rush.😨😨
I was scared watching it behind the screen, very raw and real, bordering on a horror movie, but real
guysoceanharmonics the reality of it makes it even more scary than any horror movie.
Cheers I really enjoyed this!
I could watch that wave all day... amazing RAW footage!
Killer video dude. You can't get any closer as a photographer. @27:40+ is sick!!! I watched the whole video twice, Better than Mav.
Not better than Mavs just different Mavs is actually more dangerous white sharks , cold water , jagged rocks from the land of the lost oh and huge heavy ass waves so it's a matter of opinion but I wouldn't say better
@@elnino4306 come on man, Mavs is "dangerous" because lots of granpa are surfing everyday there, and sometimes some of them die there.
Put Tehupoo in California and you will see hundreds of dead every year.
No one is out there in Tehupoo if they are not crazy and skill as fuck.
fishmemmo
Mavericks are more dangerous in my opinion just by a little. The water is colder, great white hunters, and all the rocks there.
Awesome video mate, as everyone else said, thanks for not putting some shitty music over it.
Wipeouts and the aftermath was a good touch.
Like freakin tsunamis...WOW!!
Excellent experience...
Thank you 🙂👍
Best surf I ever seen.
The size and power of the waves was seen by your excellent position while filming. This venue has the perfect close catch zone along side the foaming disaster of the Teo reef. Great vid mate. Greetings 🦘🦘🦘🦘
Was scary at moments to video this sesh, let alone surf if you were one of the few out there!
Excellent video. Thank you for showing the guys after they wiped out and how they got out or picked up. That's almost always lacking in other vids and non surfers like myself really want to know what happens.
Crazy surfing!
Respect!!!
That Koa Rothman wave near the end was definitely a Code Black Hole! Way beyond code red. Damn!!!
18:40 - incredibly well ridden. Hats off to that dude.
Balls of steel with nothing but ice water going through their veins. I'm crazy. These dudes are off the chart insane.
Great video!
Koa's wave was siiiiiiiiiiiiick
All the respect...Getting shacked and making this wave/taking it on the head and living to tell the tale are one in the same.
11:35.... bro's paddling into the impact zone to find you! Now that's crew you want in the water with you.
