So far this video has been the closest to helping me understand what’s going on with the Volca Modular.

It seems you are one of the few people to demo it who understand West Coast pretty well.

Thank You! I plan to make a longer tutorial on West Coast Synthesis in general, as many people are new to this.

I am floored by how well this video has explained this great synth. I have watched dozens of videos, even read some books that didn’t provide this much perspective on its capability. Please make more.

This inexpensive little synthesizer is always surprising me with new little capabilities from the rich textures to the sequencer to the polyrhythmic and a reverb that sounds like a spring reverb. It's it's pretty amazing

I can see the Volca Modular been connected to a breadboard to add even more knobs, photo resistors etc. like projects for the Moog Werkstatt.

This reminds me those terrible patching fever moments on the MS-20 circa 1979!!!

Best Volca modular tutorials on the web. Great job, Thanks.

Korg needs to update the 3 original Volcas to include "Global System Parameter" #8 which is for the "Sync input/output unit". This would allow the entire collection of Volcas to sync to “Once a step” (or 4 PPQN). The added bonus is that when the Volca Drum, Volca Kick, or Volca Sample is used as the master clock, the swing settings will extend to all Volcas in the chain.

I really enjoy watching your videos and stylings. You possess a finesse often ungrapsed by others. I'd like to see your explorations into the Intellijel Rainmaker Delay.

Great demo! Is it wrong that I want this really bad even though I have a Buchla Music Easel? I think this is going to be a great product to open up West Coast synthesis to the general masses.

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw they took the west coast approach on this. It’s like a mini affordable easel or 0coast. I have a Shared System that I spend endless hours .. my 12u for some reason doesn’t get the same love although the techno banging out of it is hard dark and heavy... I originally got into modular for sonic exploration and that alone).. so am fairly familiar with the west coast approach (don’t have Buchla 200e money yet).
I’m very impressed by what I’ve seen of this little Volca and thought your demo and understanding of the concepts spot on. Even tho I have $15k worth of euro I’m sooo tempted to get on of these to carry with me to work for breaks etc.

Every time I think I've hit this thing's limitations, I patch something random or watch a video like this and I'm astounded at how powerful such a small, affordable, battery-powered synth can be! I want to take mine for a walk or meditation in the woods now, haha.
If anyone here wishes for a box of some kind, I figured out a great DIY cheap solution: a $5 wooden box from Michael's (paint it if you want) and a bit of foam padding. If you can find the same size box I did, it's just big enough to fit some foam on the bottom, the Modular on top of the foam, the patch/module guide card the synth comes with in the top half, and the patch cables can slide down either side next to the foam if you organize them to be less wide. When you open it you can use the top half as a tray for the cables. Also doubles as a great 2-Volca stand if you have something to lean the top part against!

Sounds a bit weak imo, it would have been nice to have at least duophony on the volca modular.

Great, now even more terrible sounding bleeps and bloops. Previously it was just people with too much money and not enough talent making modular noise crap. Now everyone can!
