  • I love this synth and I feel like no one talks about the power of its virtual analog and filters because the wavetable stuff is so nuts. My pro 3 is playing a chill little sequence on top. Let's Party.

      I consider that a great compliment. I think its the ultimate atmosphere maker, but I think sometimes its easy to forget that the quantum is just a straight up good sounding synth. Very Cool

      Your most welcome mate 🏴‍☠! I was intrigued ever since I heard the Quantum for the first time. It feels like it's on another Level when the right buttons are pushed (somewhere around 43 I guess;)). Absolutely no beginner synth though 😇@@JeremySHGriffith

      Honestly, this shit's so good I've tried to create a vocal track with this track as it is, but the timing and rests are waaaayyy to killing. Also I was probably waaaay to drunk. Anyways, kudos to you sir :).

      Not only is it a tool, it’s a multi-tool, jack of all and master of none. Maybe harsh, but there isn’t one thing it does that isn’t done better than something else dedicated to a given engine. It’s a very nice bit of kit, and of course in the right hands is as musical as you want, but for the money; I’d take a Super Gemini, no screen and all hands on.

    If you had to choose between the Moog One and the Waldorf MK2 what would be your pick. I plan on getting a MPC X SE to connect the keyboard to then then do all my editing in Fruity Loops. The Waldorf for me reminds me of a vst called ElectraX2. I understand the mapping and how get the sound I want. My only concern is that this is one of the best sounding keyboards on the market with rich mind blowing sound I can use to increase my style of production. I usually have 3 synths going at the same time per lead synth with delay reverb and 2 filters in automation. Same usually for the pads and plucks as well. Would the MK2 make the most sense to get or are their other keyboard you would recommend? I am looking for something with alot of warmth to it and clarity that I can cut away at to make a perfect track rather than always adding more to make a VST synth sound bigger. Thank you for your time!!

    • @JeremySHGriffith
      @JeremySHGriffith  Před 3 měsíci +2

      Honestly, Both of those synths are just so unique with how they sound that I think comparing them isn't a good decision. The moog one is a lot of synth but like I have always said, its not immediate. And my moog one had trouble with the timbrality. There was just so much going on. But I loved programming it and it was really fun. The waldorf although mostly digital, has its own sound. Waldorf is really great at having an identity in my opinion. The Waves, PPG, Xts, Qs, ETC ETC. There is a reason people dug them. And yes they did so much before plug ins were powerful. But they had a sound and that sound to me rips. And I think in the end is the reason people really enjoy them. I think Both synths offer different things that are very enjoyable. The reason I like hardware is I just enjoy the tactile aspect of it all. I mix records for a living so using soft synths can be hard for me at times. But I think they are amazing too. Falcon, OBE, PIgments, That shit is nuts. If I had to be honest thought. The warmest synths I have right now are my OBX8 and my Trigon 6. If we are basing it on analog gooooo. But the moog one and MK2 can do it also. But all four of those are different and do completely different things. I love that Im able to have all of them. They all give back to me in their own way. I'm not sure if this helped at all. But if I had to choose. I would probably go Waldorf Mk2. It does everything really well.

      @JeremySHGriffith Would you put the MK2 over the Prophet X? My goal os to take samples and key them up on the board and use the digital and analog filters to give the sounds more characteristics.

      YAMAHA MONTAGE M. I am very familiar with the organic mind-blowing sound. The onboard controls are very effective, BUT no-one ever demos these showing this capability. I've many keyboards, and as usual Yamaha never have proper demos. Plus reliability of these is long term!

      @philmagnotta5553 I bought the montage for now will get the mk2 in a few months and will add in the mellotron for good use. all connected to mpc to make sample like sounds next export to fruity loops for mastering. it'll be a wrap. very excited and motivated to drop some heat will post when the time is right

    Polyphonic aftertouch sounds like it's on-off, with little "travel" in between..

    • @philmagnotta5553
      @philmagnotta5553 Před 12 dny +1

      You're right. This is how most AT key beds are manufactured. Stingy is the word. Everyone who is serious about making judicious use/programming of after touch agrees. What to do? I've been using an AT KB since 1991!! and I can say that one needs to compensate for the very small travel of these KBs such that extremes aren't reached too easily/quickly. It can be done, but requires a commitment. These days, many demos are pushing towards the overly bright, sizzled wide-opened filter. The Waldorf has enough parameters to accommodate this.

    Wow, you need to put more clips like this, don't keep your playing skills to yourself only🙂
    There are too many weird Quantum clips where guys are desperately trying to make it sound as oddball as possible. Maybe their playing skills are modest and they are trying to compensate by tweaking every possible knob to the extreme

    • @philmagnotta5553
      @philmagnotta5553 Před 12 dny

      They are not even close. The sampling capabilities are far in advance of the SG and other factors classify the Waldorf as a different category

    • @maydaygoingdown5602
      @maydaygoingdown5602 Před 12 dny

      @philmagnotta5553 Yes but I was more talking about the overall tone and timbre of both Analogs. For me the Gemini wins hands down now I've tried both.
      I already have the Iridium Keyboard so sampling is taken care of, however, I also have Falcon vst and it's sampling and pretty much everything else leaves the sampling in particular of the iridium way way behind.
      As Analog synths go, the Super Gemini is an absolute beast.
      I thought my Polybrute was good, but the Gemini....Oooffff...another level.
