She looks lovely! I know the doll customizing community is a big fan of using plastic straws and bobby pins to create curls with boil-washing; then you can curl the hair vertically and be sure of its direction beforehand. Might be something to look into!
There are many "Giochi Preziosi" Sailor Moon products! Growing up in Italy was so good as a Sailor Moon fan...Also we had 5 different theme songs for the anime! 💖
To be fair, most factory curls on dolls tend to go in the same direction so the end result is pretty much era accurate. Also I am glad the pipecleaner has worked out well for you! I can never quite get curlers or the straw method to work since doll hair for me tends to not hold the curl as tightly as I need it and pipecleaners can overcompensate in general. (Also thanks for the shoutout, I too have ADHD and forgot to comment on the other vid haha)
As an avid learner of languages (and a fellow native English speaker), I really appreciate you for taking your time to correct your pronunciation of Giachi Preziosi from the last video ;) 😊 well done! This series is so inspiring and is tempting me to collect and restore!
The fabric softener stuff was really informative! I try to cut down on my consumption of animal products so thanks for making me aware of this. Also, I totally relate to the having too many hobbies bit lol. All in all, amazing job on the cleanup/restoration!
Oh my god!! Ive never seen her before, i thought i saw all there was to see with Sailor Moon dolls She's so gorgeous, and im so happy for you, 100% see why shed be a holy grail, her dress reminds me of a collector barbie gown honestly

Investing in a good wig shampoo and conditioner is totally worth it! Thanks for making these amazing doll restoration videos. I love seeing how much care and attention you put into making these dolls look their best!
I hope there will be much more videos of doll restoration on your channel in the future. 💗 It is so nice to watch it and it helps and inspires me with my own dolls. I don’t have any Sailor Moon dolls (I have Barbie, Winx and Mia and me dolls), but it keeps me motivated to „save“ them when I see how nice your dolls look. I don’t need to put mine back into the boxes (I don‘t have the boxes, some of them I even got without their boxes or without any clothes or whatever), but I want to save some childhood memories, I want to put them into my shelf for decoration and I love to design unique doll dresses and outfits (but I didn’t succeed in making them yet. I always failed or gave up. ._.) . 😂
i seriously find these videos so very calming and relaxing, super comforting content, growing up i alwayss cherished my dolls so much and always loved cleaning them up and keeping their hair and outfits super neat:3 seeing these videos makes me nostalgic of my little self, i love the sailor moon dolls so much. i showed my boyfriend ur videos and it just makes me so happy aah these vids bring me so much joy and comfort!
She’s beautiful and I would have died to own her as a kid. I’ve only restored a couple of vintage My Little Pony dolls that were not packaged. You did such an amazing job taking her out and putting her back in her original packaging. I would have been so scared. 😆 I totally need a vintage Sailor Moon doll. I had a really cheaply made Sailor Moon doll as a kid (it may have been a knockoff actually) that was later donated to Salvation Army by my mom (including all my VHS tapes). Hope they brought another kid joy lol. 🥲
I binge watched all your Sailor moon doll restoration videos. Please don't be gone for too long, these videos are amazing. I hope you upload more sailor moon doll restorations
Thank you for the hair styling tips! I have a few loose My Little Pony toys I've been looking to do light restorations with. I've just been braiding the hair because I had no idea how to get the "crunch" out of it.
Waaaohhh!!! She's so beautiful! This doll is now on my dream doll wishlist lol. I love your videos so much and they actually helped me figure out techniques to restore some of my Monster High and Ever After High dolls!
ohhhh yay a new video !! i love this series, it's become one of my yt favorites i rewatch often. i just really see ppl spend time carefully restoring something they really love, and these dolls are adorable even tho i never played w them as a child ❤️
These Vintage sailor moon restorations makes me want to clean up my childhood (sadly nonsailor moon) dolls to give them the love they deserve. The end products are always so satisfying
I missed these videos! Thanks for coming back. Every time I see a Sailor Moon doll on FB Marketplace I think of you. Can't wait to see what videos you have in store!
I don't know if you're looking to do more of these, but for a cheaper project, do you think you might be interested in restoring a Professor Tomoe? There's a loose one on ebay for $29 sold by footballpretzel, he's got missing hair and a yellow button (and no box).
We missed you I always loved seeing you restore these beautiful dolls and find myself re watching them since videos come every once in a while I hope to see more come this year 💙
so cool! I love how careful you were with her delicate hair. also, in my job I hand draw swirly designs and stuff and i frequently accidentally make them identical instead of mirror images, like your dolls hair curls lmao! highly relatable
I never watched/collected Sailor Moon and I’m not even in the Target audience for it, but I enjoy seeing collectibles regardless of what they are getting restored. In a sense your videos are a bit of a guilty pleasure for me haha
Yessss to the bit at 1:45 - having gotten into the doll collecting part of youtube, I'm still at least a little baffled at people collecting dolls, never touching them, and keeping them in packages as untouched display pieces. I get it if it's a historical piece you can't damage - but otherwise, what's the difference between a doll and a printed picture of a doll? No shade, just, yeah - they're posable 3d art made for interacting with :) Even in the package, plastic will break down, light damage will happen, and heck, there are probably factory defects. I've never seen someone so carefully preserve/restore the box itself! I appreciate the info about fabric softener. I own it and have only ever used it on cheap wigs and, more recently, a plush I bought and loved but that had a really scratchy fur texture. I tried to read up on it, although I never thought to check if it was vegan! (I know that's a different discussion - I'm a vegetarian and honestly would care more about this for the "ew" factor, since I doubt any animals are getting slaughtered specifically for fabric softener.) lt took some digging to find the ingredients for mine, but "Dihydrogenated Tallowamidoethyl Hydroxyethylmonium Methosulfate" is in there. Hard to read any sources about this process because I don't know the chemistry behind, uh, "levulinate ester ketals," but "tallow" is in the word so I'll just go with that. Although for all I know, that's the most sustainable word in the sentence, since I know that tallow's a Soap Thing from Way Back When. And from what I can tell, there's no way to 100% remove fabric softener, but again the sources on this are pretty sparse.
I was missing these videos! Every time I see a sailor moon doll on FB Marketplace I think of you. Can't wait to see what videos you have in store for us!
I would do the acetate replacement window, and maybe add a rainbow strip of LEDs (the ones that stick but are non-damaging) and also try to only iron out the box in the absolute necessary parts that need to be fixed. I'm guessing you probably paid anywhere from $400 to $1200 for this doll, and it's beautifully worth every penny! So make sure you get some good quality clear acetate to replace the cover, or go with acrylic sheet, since acrylic will stay cleaner longer and won't cause static issues! Just my advice :)
😍You did such a beautiful job restoring her lovely hair curls. I hope to one day, find the time to restore my entire doll collection that unfortunately has been boxed away in a storage facility for 10 years. 😟
wig conditioner is really great! have been using it for both wigs and toys for years and while a good quality bottle might be a bit more expensive it lasts for a super long time, especially if youre only using it for toys/dolls
@@TamasRoom I use a swedish brand called "s balsam" so I'm not sure you ven get it where you are. But it is vegan if you do manage to find it, and reasonably priced too. Hope you can find one that works for you! Also, the doll turned out amazing you did a great job!

I think that the situation isn't quite as fragile with doll boxes vs trading cards, but they do sort of create the perfect internal environment for mold to grow, so it's something I pay attention to. I live in a somewhat damp environment where it rains a lot, so I will periodically run a dehumidifier in there in the rainy season just to make sure it stays good and dry. Although really I think where you start seeing it be a real issue is when things are stored in garages or basements for long periods of time where they're not regularly checked up on or dusted, I don't hear of mold growing in bookcase displays very often.
OMG I'm only now realizing something! I used to watch your game videos on your other channel! You changed your name so I didn't realize it till now, cool to see you're into dolls restorations!
Wait it’s been 9 months since you’ve done a doll restoration video? It didn’t seem like it was that long for me. I love these videos though so I’m glad to see you doing them again! As someone else who has ADHD I understand not being interested in something for awhile and then coming back to it later.
actually, I think part of the problem of the foam rollers you were using was you were twisting the hair before putting it around the roller. so when you removed them they untwisted leaving her hair with more of a wave instead of a curl
I remember I had this doll (well she had the classic sailor costume, not this one) and as a good 90s kid I brought her with me on the beach and her hair became a mess. I would recommend getting a metal comb/brush as it's what companies like Mattel use for their own dolls when preparing them for stock photos.
