The surprising part isn't the bug or the damage, it's the fact that you have 6 ToM only a few days after the raid dropped.

It looks like Touch of Malice is beneficial because it charges super pretty fast too. Super not only regening because of boss damage you also gain super by getting hurt. Not sure if it was done on purpose but it could be useful for using more then one yeet titans or celestials.
I noticed that as well you get a sizable amount literally every hit. I honestly feel like this is gonna lean towards being a raid requirement or at least day 1/ contest mode must have
@@FantasticBadger I doubt it. It takes a lot of coordination and setup as well as gives a *ton* of risk. Anything day 1 this is generally going to be a primary backup like outbreak is.

D2's sandbox has so much to compliment ToM and many different ways to negate the health drain that it is probably going to be a solid dps option in combination with other good dps options.
I like running ToM with Reed's Regret, I open up with a clip of Reed and then switch to ToM... You could even add Starfire protocol to the mix for extra free dmg

To even further optimize the DPS on bosses only have 1 person dedicated to shooting the blight shot at the boss. It lasts for about 4 seconds and as long as they keep shooting they'll have a blight shot ready at all times pretty much. This will make sure people aren't just randomly shooting it out and missing out on DPS when they never have to stop shooting because 1 guy can handle it.
Since it’s an exotic primary, pay attention to the super energy being gained per hit.
ICYMI- Exotic primary damaged vs. bosses give you a ton of super energy per hit.
It might also be because it damages you which ALSO gives you super energy
@@lynnrose12It’s been known for a long time. Doing damage with exotics gives you a bit more energy than usually, but doing damage, specifically with an exotic primary- gives a lot more super energy just on the hit. Usually you have to kill something.
@@jasonbisdead I mean. Since the rework to how we get energy we also get super energy on damaging anything. As well as being damaged, which is why I'm saying that could also be part of it

Even after the bug is fixed, this will still be a great weapon to use as a backup when you run out of ammo.

Touch is purely a boss/major melter
Also haven't seen anyone mention it, but catalyst is Rapid Hit which will increase the speed you proc the ToM perk increasing dps even further.
The after blight damage increase is also for thorn and osteo striga
For a lot of these you guys aren't spamming the blight enough. It only lasts like 2-3 seconds but it's a massive increase to the damage of the gun, even without Divinity. You had some boss fights where your entire team only shot the blight once or twice the entire time.
All 6 people should just be spamming the blight non-stop. The slight break in shots fired is more than made up for by the DPS increase.

I am so happy that I got it on my second clear and not my 50th. Was very sad that it was not a quest this time around not to say that I did not expect it, but still. The catalyst was quite easy to get as well and I love the changes to the raid. Absolutely perfect job by bungie, save for some bugs like golgoroth never resetting.
As someone who barely put touch of malice down in d1 and still plays with it in d1 I appreciate this video. I just wish the gun was a quest and not rng. I hate rng
Yeah vex as rng made sense bc of legacy but TOM being rng is a letdown imo

A lot of these runs obviously can be optimized if you were to spam tether directly and have a div user. And to add a little extra dps all warlocks can use necrotic grips to add poison damage to the blight.
It seems like a solid option for backup dps after running out of heavy.
120k is better sustained than almost everything in the game
@@caleb163 It only does 120k sustained because of a bug that will 100% get patched. After the patch it will be a great backup.
I feel like even without the bug malice will still be an okay option for dps, like you said after you run out of heavy, because let's face it, not much can beat a God roll LFR for boss damage.
This + lfr for long dps phases = busted

From what ive seen it seems that that the blight sometimes hits mutilple times when theres a div cage
From what I can gather, it's due to the blight outer sphere hitting first then the center hitting next
@@mizuki2560 makes sense, i think tho its more of the sphere lingering a bit afyer hitting, doing multiple ticks of damage, kind of how sometimes a captain can blind you two times with a single projectile
that debuff from the blight is not only for Touch of Malice but from all weapon of sorrow aka Thorn and Osteo Strega
And witherhoard too ?would love to check that out
@@Pablopicasso69 sadly no. The witherhoard isn’t a weapon of sorrow. The only weapons of sorrow in the game are thorn, ToM, and Osteo
With the bug its doing 7.8x its base unbuffed damage which means the double damage at 1 in the mag is being applied twice when using div

It’s been a long while since I’ve seen a kinetic exotic primary actually be meta for raid bosses
For certain Bosses like the Witches yes but otherwise it's more like a Backup plan like the Outbreak Prime if there's no Special of Heavy Ammo laying around.

I think this gun get patched/nerfed bc of the 126k dps, but at the same moment I rly hope it stays like it is now, it gives D1 vibes, it’s strong, rly strong but on my opinion it’s not op, it’s a rly good raid exotic like every raid exotic should be, maid out of the Raid Boss you slay, strong and rly special

Got my catalyst today! This gun is absolutely insane. Easiest to use on the Warlock, gotta mess with it on solar titan and see how much I can survive fully shooting it.
It doesn’t just buff other ToM’s but also buffs Osteostriga and Thorn. All weapons of Sorrow get buff by the charged ToM shot.
Have you tested it with the Seasonal Mod "Sundering Glare" since you can deal precision shots...
That's why its one off the best dps weapons from d1

In D1 that was always the strat when using ToM on Sisters and Orxy. Best dps. Im still surprise new people who never played D1 KF are realizing this.

Yea its pretty nut. ToM is still 3 leagues above the others for two reasons - 1.) Its final round does double damage by itself, let alone the boost from the blight, and 2.) It never needs to be reloaded. The reload kills something like Striga, especially cuz its paired with the poison effect which can only be applied by one person and doesn't stack across teammates.
Thorn and grips too. Holy moly I might just come back.. MIGHT

For anyone calling for this weapon to be nerfed, keep in my mind that 99% of this weapon will be used in a well or something that can heal. Once you're outside of the well you can literally fire like 10+ shots before you are almost dead

@@Alexp904 yes it will hot head cataclysmic and storm chaser are all better than most exotic heavys dead messenger, osteo, malice, and witherhoard all pair amazing with them for top tier dps
I in general don’t see why anyone would want this to be nerfed in pve, since it doesn’t really effect anyone and there’s already plenty of ways to do extremely high amounts of da to bosses

they’re just popping lots of wells and tethers, plus you get super for dealing damage and this is just constant damage

You weren't using the blight enough throughout these phases. More testing needed for sure.
using the blight on the last bullet is probably causing the bug

@Ehroar wouldn't div be a second weapon of sorrow debuff... As well as a normal debuff. It hasn't been fully tested yet has it? There hasn't been much of a way too either. But why else would it increase that much.

It actually buffs all weapons of sorrow damage not just touch
Also it's not a bug what happens is you get a debuff from div a buff from the blight and the buff from touchs last bullet and then the buff from well its doing the damage it's suppose to be doing
Debuffs don't stack, it's definitely a glitch
So here's the break down the div debuff is alone here however buffs stack so personal buff from the last bullet stacks with well and the debuff you get from the blight overrides div until it runs out div being used for crit damage instead of debuff damage so no my friend it's not a bug it's working as intended
Also the damage increase from the blight only works with weapons of sorrow ie. Thorn and osteo strega
