LS Swapped 57 Chevy First Drive - it Rips!

  • It's been a long road but I finally got the LS motor swapped in the car and now it's running and driving. This was a huge learning curve and I would definitely do it different the next time. And I gotta say the next time will be sooner rather than later. I hope you guys enjoy the video and the first test drive.       DD Speed Shop get a different good matt black it and put a scoop on it. Leave the org hood in case you want to change engines

      You too, im from southern Illinois and gets pretty cold here. Not as cold as you guys. Winter time and beanies might be good with your logo. If they are offered by the company you are dealing with on your merchandise.

    No scoop. Unless it’s ice cream. My wife finds stuff like hood gaps too. Sounds healthy. Seems like a good swap.

      It’s a 57 Chevy doesn’t really need a scoop why ?
      A gasser with a straight axle needs a scoop

      @@DDSpeedShop well I'm an old school points and condenser and Two Lane Blacktop is one of my favorite flics. I like the scoop, but taller than the one you have. Nice work man.

      If I put a scoop, it would need to match the contours of the rest of the hood and colour.

    Two shops in Las Vegas sent my 56 back to me with sniper not able to self tune...third shop checked header tubes with a heat gun...not firing on 2 cylinders.
    I immediately realized the problem. I had replaced tall valve covers with old school finned covers...engine had been in my 10:90 57 bracket car and had the same engine with stainless roller rockers ..boy did I feel stupid and two rod shops we're just about as bad....LOL

    I loved it when you sprayed the door hinge while referring to someone who had left you a comment about it squeaking then looked right into the camera and said "we good" LOL Great video, Love the 57 and it's continued rise from a trailer load of parts. (No Scoop) I'm not fond of scoops that serve no purpose, they tend to be chinzy like giant spoilers on tuners.

    Careful buddy....Years ago I had a friend doing "standies" or a burnout in his garage after just finishing a full restoration on his 55 Chevy. Two minutes later it was half parked in the garage and living room. Fun Fun Fun .... Happy New Year!

    Happy new year nice job putting an LS one in the car if you can do it I can do it not that I would I was more concerned with the radiator was going to fit under the hood then the intake I think the hood scoop look wild,,,,, back in the day real crazy is it Tear drop old scoop that our member seeing back in the day,,,,, but that you keep it up like what you did I’m back spoke to Santa Claus no 57 wagons available yet for him but he’s looking so behave with you on the bright keep the burn off to minimum take care keep up the great work junkman do
