So how did Exeter conquer Europe? | The Squidge Report | Champions Cup Final 2020

  • Ten years ago, they were written off, 1-2 for relegation. On Saturday, they were crowned the best team in Europe. But how did Rob Baxter's Exeter see off the formidable challenge off Racing 92 and complete a remarkable 12-year journey?

    • @MathyouJames
      @MathyouJames Před 3 lety +27

      @@bunniesforlife719 so recently there was a campaign to get the Chiefs to change their branding from the Native Indian stuff because it's not really anything to do with Exeter. It's been quite high profile recently and as a result the clubs dropped its mascot.
      It's why Squidge earlier made the joke about another "feather in their culturally appropriated cap" (which to be fair is pretty funny)
      Thing is though, the club was called the Chiefs well before that imagery was used and the campaign didn't actually want the club to change its name. He's coughing over it because it's sort of making a joke out of him not using the "culturally appropriated" team name but doesn't really work as that's not what the issue was

    Squidge's wokeness is ALMOST insufferable. I would absolutely LOVE to hate him.
    But I can't because his content is simply EXCELLENT and nobody else compares.

    Disagree with your comment on Nowell’s read on that pass... it’s the right pass, and actually if it were executed well it isn’t defendable. Nowell is still caught in no mans land, Russell just undercooked it.
    The circle you placed as the space he was passing to was actually 3-5m outside, in which case Nowell never makes the intercept.
    Agree he’s quality in D, but unfortunately this is a case of poor execution in offence rather than great execution in defence
