  • In this webinar recording, Anna Kalsi from TUC Education is joined by Dawn Lovett, a Senior Health Care Support Worker and GMB member, Deirdre Costigan, National Officer for Disability Equality at UNISON, and Julie Dennis, Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at Acas.
They talk practically about how unions are working with employers to prevent disability discrimination at work, and what reps can do to support members in getting the reasonable adjustments they need.

I am interested in the law regarding Government Departments ie HMRC a core service and the discriminatory way they treat customers. They just ignore the legislation in my experience. They awarded 100 pounds...never received. However that was one incident. With the govt not raising the personal allowance it has spiralled more of us unto the tax bracket. I am aged, disabled and have mental health problems.

How can Reps advocate for colleagues who are told they will have to use annual leave or make up time for attending medical appointments directly associated with their disability?
