A part of me dies when i accidentally reel in the bait before the fish latches on 😑
holy crap, sea bass has screwed me over so many times. every time i get one i hope they go extinct
Sea Bass when Coelacanth hunting is by far the worst part of fishing period
me : does any fishing ever
sea bass : prepare for TROUBLE
black bass : make it DOUBLE
haha black bass and sea bass ARE like team rocket.WE are ash and friends and always get screwed up by f*** basses
If I catch a loach or a dab again! IT MAKES ME SO MAD LMAO
it’s ok the loach and dab are completely extinct at this time in june 😤
I’m sorry but bunny day and sea basses exist (so this comment won’t make much sense tomorrow but thanks for all the likes)
I’m ready for the 13th to roll around so I don’t have to fucking pull eggs out of the sea 457748x in a row....
@@LIQUIDST33L COVID_19 got me on a beach pulling egg, after egg out of the Ocean 🌊🎣🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚
Emonnie's World VonTheDon757 dude!!! It’s fucking ridiculous. It’s like the damn stars on the ground too. Every time I see it I’m like “ooooh a new fossil” then BAM get face fucked but an egg after I dig it up. Fucking pieces of shit. Same goes for hitting trees..I’m expecting to get the wood I need but NOOOOOO the game wants be be like here you go 2 eggs and a piece of wood you don’t need....
I wish the sea bass could ride off on the horse mackerel and never come back! 🙄🙄🙄😒😒😒
Catching sea bass and water eggs makes me question my existence.
Stigmata Martyr
They probably time travel, which no gonna lie I’m pretty close to doing.
@@alandarkcaster2902 it doesn't happen often, but yes since that original comment I've caught multiple rare fish in the same day.
My technique is to base catching off of audio only. I close my eyes, or look away from the screen, and wait for the noise of the fish taking the bite to press A. I rarely mis-press A now, normally only when I get cocky and look at the screen instead :P
This!! I do the same thing, it's way easier because the brain reacts faster to sound than it does to visuals. Makes it way more chill to fish.
Same bruh it’s really helped. I just caught an oarfish with this technique
That's because people have a faster reaction time when they have to react to sound
That's also the reason why your reaction time most of the time is slower when you have your eyes open
“Jesus take the wheel” I love that lmao
Love how everyone calls it the "Jesus take the wheel" method. Honestly though, fishing off sound alone has been my technique since I first got animal crossing new leaf.
Ok people. I have a guide to get rid of sea bass. Basically, when you catch one, dump it in your river, as it can’t live in freshwater, and it dies. Ta-Da!
I dump them in ponds, since they can’t book it to the sea. They will die slowly with no means of potential escape. Good.
Don’t look at the fish. Just watch the bobber and when it goes down press A.
I've caught 27 different fish and sometimes when the float goes down and I press A the fish immediately leaves. Very frustrating
I was obsessed with fishing in NL so I adapted the "Jesus take the wheel" method and because of this, I instinctively close my eyes whenever I fish on NH akchsjcjsj the disappointment of opening your eyes and finding out its a sea bass/black bass or the excitement of finding out its a new or rare fish never changes
Amazing guide. Have been looking all over for someone who dives in deep. So f'ing tired of "Craft a fishing pole, head to a body of water, press a button, thanks for watching!" I subscribed to you immediately. Thank you!!!
I feel I'm at a bit of an advantage with the "Jesus take the wheel" method, considering I'm legally blind so rely on that method. I have to say that AC, particularly NH, has ECXCELENT sound design! I'm always able to hone in on baloons I'd otherwise miss as well as having good reaction to fish biting most of the time. I just kinda suck ast aiming ... Ah well! I also give major props to them making the cracks in the ground for fossils much easier to see! I always had problems in previous games, because I tended to mistake them for weeds and the reverse when I wasn't paying very close attention.
Yeah I think sound or vibration fishing is way more accurate than visual fishing. I do sound fishing and get around 80% catch rate, with visual fishing I'll only get every other fish.
I’ve also noticed the sounds are brilliant, how you’ll move areas and the sounds of the trees will transform into lapping waves. It adds another sense back in making the game experience even better
PinkPixel Productions Carefully, methodically, and with a big perfectionist streak. I share the island with my 7-year-old niece, so I decorate with a lot of compromise too 😄 I can see well enough what decorations are, and have a good enough idea of what I eventually want this island to look like
I'm not blind or deaf but I use the sound also to hear the differences for when the fish latches onto the hook, it's a different sound than the nibbling. I will look away from the TV. My kid thought I was crazy, but now she does it as well.
Additional tip: Fish will only attempt to bite a maximum of 6 times. When it’s going for that 6th attempt, it’s a guaranteed bite. I’ve noticed that it’s very unlikely that it will get all the way up to 6 attempts in this version of AC, but it’s a good tip to know.
Edit: I originally stated 5 bites in this comment, as 5 is the maximum amount of bites in previous games, but some people report having up to 6 bites. I personally haven’t seen more than 5, but be on the lookout for 6
Wait what? I wonder what the odds of that is. I’ll update this comment
You can also close your eyes, turn the volume up and press the button when you hear the fish bite down as well. This works really well too!
I actually caught a coelacanth today! I was PSYCHED.
Also this video is so detailed and thorough.
Minipa your one of the only people I’ve seen who get straight to the point and don’t drag things out
I also recommend mass producing fish bait and fishing on the pier.
The Oarfish doesn’t have that bad of a spawn rate, and that also allows you to sell a lot of spare fish.
the "Jesus, take the wheel" approach has worked for me since city folk. (btw, glad I'm not the only one and great name for it.) I don't close my eyes, but I can't watch the screen. I look hilarious while doing it, but going off of sound and vibrations is just easier imo! Thanks for the helpful video.
Its a bit late, but this guide’s thrown life back into my fishing love after catching 3x more eggs than fish
I think... after testing this out just now, and I could be wrong... that the eggs are mainly 4-5 shadow sizes
Steady your breathing...Hamon fishing
Sunlight Yellow Overdrive the stupid fucking Sea Bass to extinction I hate them I hate them
As someone who has fished A LOT in Animal Crossing, this is extremely helpful. I tend to use shadow analysis quite a bit when determining different fish from others. Sea bass are horrible, but they are bigger than the red snappers and barred knifejaws, making catching them a lot easier compared in the Gamecube edition. I also love the fact you pointed out that the size 6 shadow is more evenly distributed compared to the size 5, which is more top heavy. I didn't even notice this little detail, but now I'll keep that in mind.
Another tip: there is a 7 shadow, the large and skinny one. this is for eel or in my spanish game "morena" or "anguila de liston azul.
There also seems to be a different, much thinner and longer shadow. I was walking along the shore, and one shadow caught my eye for being long and thin. It also behaved in a snake-like way when I reeled it in, and it turned out to be a ribbon eel!
For thumb twitch, I press my thumb next to the button. I close eyes and press into the side each bite, and with the actual bite, just slide over
LaroonDynasty I’m so trigger happy when I’m fishing. It’s ruined so many catches for me
Great tips! I’ve been playing since wild world on the DS. I‘ve grown to use the sound trick. I’m hoping they add bulk crafting for bait. And that clams stack.
Thank you for making an actually super detailed comprehensible guide! So helpful. I also loved your breathing calming technique. Very chill very practical in the real world too haha!
Actually, to easy to catch a fish for me is sound.
Didnt even found one fish with a fin yet.
@@proclamation9783 it can be dodgy because lots of weeds grow and islanders may move out if you time travel too far ahead.. I'd rather just wait until June lol
I stopped closing my eyes and started glaring at the A button. Haven't missed since.

The fact you took the time to teach everyone this is awesome lmao you’re adorable! ❤️
This is the most helpful fishing guide I’ve seen for NH. Thank you for all the info!
I've read these tips before but thank you so much for putting visuals with them!! It helps so much, especially with thumb twitching
I'm just really happy I'm not the only one closing my eyes for fishing occasionally.
Sea bass & Mackerel I could tell shadow and bite type in one day of fishing. Thanks for all the tips!
one of the ways i learnt to not accidentally press a was to make a the second reaction i do, i just tilt the joystick up as first reaction instead because it does nothing and an accidental hit of it wont do anything wrong. works wonders!
Fun tip for catching rare river fish: there's an island that has insane fish spawn rates. It's a three-tier island with a waterfall as the first thing you see at the front of the island, and I personally have caught two golden trouts, three chars, four stringfish and three rows of my inventory worth of sturgeons. It's actually insanely easy to chain sturgeons, all you need to do is scare off all the fish from the second and third tiers, then head to the mouth of the river on the right and boom, sturgeon, sometimes two.
I don't have any tips for the other river fish, I got super lucky with the golden trouts, but the stringfish are at least identifiable for being the only size 5 fish, so just keep an eye out. Also, I know march is over and you can't get sturgeons anymore, so if you're gonna try it remember to set your clocks back.
Great comment, I'm currently in the Southern Hemisphere and the only rare fish that spawns is the Sturgeon and Golden Trout. Unfortunately, the golden trout spawns are hogged by Eggs :(
I got that island and recognised it as the rare fish island but I only caught carp. Nothing but carp. I caught like ten carp in a row and left. Another island just had black bass and sea bass
You just earned a new sub. You are so helpful!!! Thank you!
This is an actual in depth guide, no other youtuber ever told me to steady my breathing
I close my eyes and listen for the ‘plop’ 😂 works everytime
I'm so glad I'm not the only one that closes my eyes while fishing. I just listen to the sound though and it helps me a lot because I have the thumb twitch
This was EXTREMELY helpful! Thank you so much!
I've always caught fish with my eyes closed hahahaha. I love the new name. Jesus take the wheel.
this was awesome, great job, love the detail!
Really informative video, without being really boring or too long. Subscribed! 😊
Caught a king salmon while watching because I was looking for turtles in september and decided to check the mouths to clear those, but also catch stuff
gg
Most of this I inferred over hours of fishing, but for me 5 and 6 were just “large” so good to know that distinction and your comparison helps. Also your blue marlin trick of narrowing potential catches. Thanks!
this is a great vid, you’re very funny and this helped me a lot. subscribed :))
you are a god amongst men, and your shirt and exodia setup is dope, i’m subscribed
The first tip was so amazing. That’s my biggest struggle is the thumb twitch
Another tip: Don’t run too fast near the fish because it’ll scare them off. 🐟
Do you know what the actual spawning chance is for the rare fish, once you have the correct size shadow? I have used roughly 150 bait at clifftop for the stringfish and am wondering if it is worth it.
In the process of figuring that out, will post a fishing spawn rates video soon

This is really helpful, thanks!
Thanks! This was so informative & concise
On a side note, I’ve noticed that the eels also have a unique shadow shape that’s very long and slim, and generally just looks like an eel.
I like how the title says, Master Baiting😂
Like how you said kole-o-kanth at first but then corrected yourself and said seelo-kanth later. Great vid ty for it
When a fish actually bites it makes a unique sound so just close your eyes and wait for that, it also has a unique visual que, a nibble is a ripple but a little splash happens when it actually bites
This video was so helpful. Here's a bonus tip from my own limited experience: when I play on the handheld console, I fish with my eyes closed just using the vibrations, like Minipa said. But when I'm playing on the TV with the pro controller, the vibrations aren't as distinct, so I prevent the demon-thumb twitches by using only my HEARING to fish instead of touch. I just wait to press the button once I hear what sounds like puling the stopper out to drain the water in the sink.
MAXIMUM CAST MASTER GIVES YOU THE “LIFE-FORM” TITLE?
that’s more of a reason to get max Cast Master than flexing rights (seriously, only 1,000 miles? I can get that from plus goals alone)! Internet Life-Form title, here I come!
The 'jesus take the wheel' xD
I saw your shirt and automatically subbed, plus your content is mega juicy and helpful, keep it up hammie 👌
I don’t know about anyone else but I can look at the screen and look at the fish and still catch it consistently
Hey, I watched your vid for the first time yesterday. Used your techniques and caught a Barreleye on my friend's island. Thanks!
THANK YOU SO MUCH I ACTUALLY CAUGHT A COELACANTH
I go by sound it makes a distinct sound when the fish actually bites
This is my first time watching you. Respect your love for Papa Franku.
Now I understand why new leaf villager declared war on Sea Bass
I loved the how you named that one method "Jesus take the wheel" 😭😂 and thank you for the helpfull video!! ♡
After 2 hours I caught my first sturgeon and then my game randomly crashed and it didn’t save. But completely reset the game. So it kicked me off the island and didn’t save the catch. And I literally almost cried. I gave up after that. But I neeEED to get one
threes 3’s I got one on the last day!! Actually I call all three of the last rare march fish I needed! Thank you tho 💕
ok but the easter event ruined the stone mining / fishing / tree chopping / gift popping / opening message in a bottle for me haha. i really hate this event
damn... how did you analyze these small differences...! Big thanks for the useful video!! Let's keep this game going viral!
My sister and I would make up our own jokes for the annoying fish like, “I caught a loach, and it looks more like a roach” and “I caught a barbel steed and it’s not what I need.” XD
