The Virgin Atlantic part was almost exclusively business class photos. This is very misleading about their product.

Thank you for letting me know, upon further review it appears that some business class pictures have been used on the Virgin Atlantic part of the video, and for that i appoligize. However most clips and pictures in this video are stil from the Premium Economy Class.
@@AviationLifestyle The Emirates section opens with a shot of the business class seats. The meal shown is business class not premium economy, and the bar that appears at the end of the section is only for business and first class passengers too.
I don't see the point to upgrade. My last trip to Paris on Air France last month we upgraded to premium economy and it was a scam from air france. We don't see and feel any difference in comfort and seat size besides we can select the seats at booking and allowed 2 checked in suitcases each ticket. Anyway we never sleep on our flight no matter how long it takes. Paying business or first class is a waste of money. You really pay at least 10k for a package meal, a few glasses of wine, a lay flat couch during a 12 hours flight??? that make you a weak a** not able to handle a trip in a normal way. I would use the money to dine at Michelin restaurants and shopping at Harrod

I hated Air France premium economy. The fixed shell seats have ZERO RECLINE. It’s fine for a day flight, but we took a red eye (sfo to Paris) and paid $$$ for a chance to get some sleep. No dice. It was by far the most uncomfortable seat I’ve ever had. I’ll never fly AF Premium Economy again, regardless of how nice the free socks & toothbrush were.
I agree with Virgin Atlantic as #1. I traveled with them 5 years ago in Premium Economy and it was worth every $$$.
Cathay pacific should be added. I loved it. Champagne upon seating,separate check in, electric reclining seats with calf rest and foot rest, plush blankets and pillows, toiletry kit with sleep mask, toothbrush,toothpaste, comb etc. Premium dinner menu with dessert, and separate bathroom which was nice.
Yes it should. Tried it once from LAX to MNL via HKG. The seats were wide, legroom was great, and that dedicated lavatory on their long-haul 777s was convenient. I also tried their business class on the HKG-MNL leg of the trip due to change of aircraft where we got upgraded because our seat numbers were not available on the aircraft, which happened to be the same 777 we flew in from LAX. We were originally supposed to fly on an A330. Now, that was some experience, even for a flight less than 2 hours. The only thing I don't like with Cathay and the majority of airlines with premium economy is because of the great 8" recline of the seats, the person behind is more affected, especially if a person in front of you keeps the seat reclined the entire flight, unlike JAL and a few others where they slide forward to recline.
At least it’s the head on your face when front seat is reclined, not the feet.
A someone mentioned in the comments below. Their is a mistake, especially in the virgin Atlantic part of the film where business class footage is shown. Somehow footage from a other video got mixed into the loop. My bad!
I would have ranked Lufthansa much lower simply because of the lack of a divider between premium and economy class.
Anything that lessens my chance of having to listen to an arguing couple or a screaming child behind me is totally worth it.

So you were giving mis-information. You were taking about Premium economy seats on Virgin Atlantic and was showing their Upper Class also known as Business class seats. Only showing the premium class towards the end. I would however say the price is competitive especially of you have Flying Club card, as you can transfer points from retails such as Boots and points from your American Express card. The transfer is immediate an shows on you account.. As long as you have the right points you just pay the taxes for the flight. My up and coming flight to the US cost me 48,500 points plus £540 for the taxes premium economy. Large leather purple seats, welcome drink, normally orange juice or wine, dinner on plates with cutlery, amenity kit, Hot chocolate as suppose to just tea and coffee. Food is normally good also and cabin crew friendly. Only downside now is that you have to pay to choose your seat, that use to be free🤥
I must be the only one that could care less about how big the screen is, meal served or access to the lounge with premium seats? All I want is my head not to bob as I try to sleep😂. I just want to hear how much recline I’ll get for an extra $400. 😢
Of course, comfortable seat is the most important part when you just want to get to good sleep : )

Did you show business class seats toward the end though (for Virgin Atlantic)? You showed two kinds and now I'm not sure if that was Premium or Business
I've flown Turkish Air premium economy. It has a separate cabin, larger seats, more recline and legroom, electronically adjustable leg rest, and upgraded amenities. It's far from restrooms but close to a galley. I recommend.

I agree with all of these, with one exception. Singapore airlines was BARELY a step above economy class. I'm absolutely baffled that they received the number 2 spot in this video...I'll never fly Singapore again. I feel like I paid prem economy price for a standard economy ticket.

Lots of photos of business class seats instead of premium economy. On the #3 Qantas...which was mispronounced, BTW...the first photo showed the new premium economy seats but after that it all the old/current seats. I've sat in them and it was very familiar.
This is fun to see because flying domestically absolutely sucks.
Delta, Air New Zealand , Emirates (that interior just stunning and better than some airlines' business cabins) and Singapore were the leaders. I would say Virgin too but the pictures were not Premuim seats until the end.

The only issue with Emirates Premium Economy is that those prices are business class prices for other airlines(say Jfk to dxb) ill take an older seat that lie flat over newer upright seat next to someone anyday

What about Japan Airlines, better than most shown and only ANA and JAL of all the airlines give you business class lounge access if flying premium economy and even economy flex fare. I wouldn't take much notice of this review when deciding which to choose I'm sorry to say.
Agreed. Just flew JAL to India and Tokyo from Nashville and it is right up there with Virgin. We flew Virgin to Europe last summer, and I give them the nod on comfort level, but JAL gets the nod on food. It was amazing and plentiful. Service on both was fantastic. American Premium Economy was awful, all the way around.
Misleading surely? You were interspersing a lot of shots of business class products at the beginning....why? Also that Virgin product - which is very good - was misleading again again. Correct what it offers but the video was of the Upper Class product on A350! The actual seats were the final shot.

The title of this review is misleading. This is a comparison of complete premium economy programs including food and amenities. I just wanted a comparison of the specific seats.

Delta is one of the worst premium economy products in the entire world.
It literally is economy with a better seat. Not really any differentiated service. See AA and UA for the vast difference in meal service compared to Delta's

Got to say British Airways depends very much if flying out of Heathrow otherwise its the older drab product. Has separate cabin + glass of bubbly + seperate check-in but not much else in my experience on the older/unrefurbished jets

I don't know why Air France got a better score than Delta. I flew both of them fairly recently and Delta won hands down.
Disclaimer: I never eat airline food so for me the seat is the entire equation.

I flew premium economy on virgin atlantic and it was disgustins. The seat was comfortable but they seemed to have completely given up on hygiene. My screen was sticky from tge grubby fingeres of the last people on my seat and there were pieces of food down my seat. The blanket also had stains on it. It was gross

Just a small thing but, the vast majority of the pictures shown for Virgin Atlantic are of Upper Class, not Premium Economy, please don't book a flight based on these pictures, you will be disappointed.

Virgin and BA are big question marks. Service is not consistent between crews.
Air NZ has all the elements you commented on in spades on ultra long haul. Seat pitch and recline is 41” & 9”. Your graphics do not reflect current PE content. What’s up?

American Airlines from Frankfurt Germany to Dallas Texas in Main Cabin Extra was absolutely outstanding. The service and the food were on par. The aircraft was exceptional. The seat and entertainment was perfect for a 9 1/2 hour flight. Big ups to American Airlines for this service.

This is a very misleading video. The main picture on the video isn’t even a Premium economy seat, many of the seats shown aren’t even a Premium economy, but a first in business class. This is very misleading.

Be Careful - sometimes the genius has pictures of First Class, while talking about Premium Economy - that is the case with Virgin. And one more I just can't remember.

Lots of wrong pictures showing business class seats instead of premium economy. These were selected in random, including the order. Lousy job putting together this video, and missed a lot of airlines with better premium economy service than most of the ones mentioned. JAL-which offers lounge access and seats that move forward when reclined so the person behind is unaffected, Cathay Pacific with a dedicated lavatory for premium, and a few others have been missed.
You missed lots of other good airlines. When you mentioned United, it makes me laugh.

Flew PE to Frankfurt via Lufthansa. The PE cabin is separated from Economy by a mesh blind and does not give the extra privacy you pay for. Air NZ was great and make you feel like the extra you pay for PE is worth it.

China Air flies A350-900 out of YVR to Asia, quite like their PE product. Pre-Covid could find deals around $1500 CAD return to BKK. Fixed seat that slides forward, 39" pitch I believe.

NO WAY BA deserves even 9th place, with dirty, badly cabins, missing and sometimes wholly absent catering, uncomfortable seating, essentially non-existent ground based customer service and unreliable, insecure IT systems as backup. Their service is #BeyondAbysmal, uncompetitive and #BestAvoided
