HERE I AM ON THE DUKE 390 PERFORMING - • Duke 390 Stunt Bike
As per request here is a link to some of the parts used: 1fngr.com/collections/ktm-390... as well as a PART 2 VIDEO that is more in depth👉 • Part 2 Duke 390 Upgrades - Zábava
Probably the only video review/build on a KTM out of the possible hundreds I’ve watched over time. I’ve wanted this bike in almost any fashion for a long time. But no one ever edited a video of an upgrade video like this one, that I’ve seen yet. Awesome work, brother. Hats off to you. *drives to the local shop*
I'm: watching video about upgrades.
Everyone else: look, girl on the background.
wich upgrades?...
i guess everyone stopped after the first 30sec of the vid. cool though this got 483k views.
Is there a motorbike in there?
I honestly didn’t even notice her at first ngl
@@rosshilton i dont think so
I've used the power tronic system with the quick shifter for a good while now on my 2014 model. i also use a 02 eliminator from dyno jet for a open loop. it really helps with the lower grunt for the bike, great combo with aftermarket exhaust and air box mod with k&n filter. Glad to see so much love for the duke 390...
Best video I’ve seen so far I’m a young rider only 15 right now but i get my duke 390 in less than a year and I couldn’t be more excited!
That's awesome have fun, I'd recommend learning to drive for a while in a car, and then using that knowledge on a bike, rather than learning the road on a bike, but yolo!
@@JohnSmith-yy2uj I'm 15 too. I was planning that too. Cheap car great bike👌
Just dont rev the bike above 6000 rpm mine got wrecked

Cool I just purchased a 2019 Duke 390 as my starter bike can’t wait until spring to start riding it!!
I just installed the coober ECU, K&N filter, and coober airbox lid. Expensive but it definitely enhances the ride dynamics and smooths things out. A little extra power too and adds a nice throaty exhaust note.
Single cylinder 🤮
@@MybeautifulandamazingPrincess lmao says the guy that probably doesnt even own a bike
@@MybeautifulandamazingPrincessYou clearly don’t ride 🤡
@MybeautifulandamazingPrincess Thumpers are fun AF. Take it from a long time RC51 owner. My Duke390 is just fun and easy to lay in to corners. Super all around town bike.
You can also lower your front forks in your triple clamp by 20mm to 25mm. It will give you better front end feel and cornering but not good for wheelie.
Love the sound of the pipe.
I like the new sit upgrade!😍😍😍 it's a real beast!👌👌
What's the seat?
❤ most of ur upgrades. Air cleaner , exhaust & ecu. ❤ the original tank color scheme with the 390 & Duke logos. Why KTM would delete this from there current 2021 models is beyond me.
I really liked the tire swap front and back. They add the aggresive look of the bike instantly Even the exhaust sounds great...rest I would leave on. Great jobbuddy, you have more skills to do the rest...
I went with fuelx lite piggyback ecu thank u for this build im gona emulate it as much as i can
Werkes has to be one of the best looking exhaust cans.
Subbed, by the way. Cheers from Brazil!
I have owned a KTM RC390 2017 model and did almost all of these mods, and honestly save yourself the money.
After spending over 1,500 the only thing which actually made the bike faster was the Rev limiter increase with the powertronic. If you really want some more speed get yourself a larger front sprocket and smaller rear sprocket as the bike already revs extremely fast.
Don't mess with tyre sizes and shock springs unless you plan on taking the bike on track
What's wrong with going for a 160 rear if you could help me out there as I've been thinking of doing it. Thanks.
@@c.a.marsupial.1282 Ideally keep the tire factory size, a larger tire means a larger contact patch which will make your bike more stable on straight roads and help with wheel spin ( which isn't a real issue on a 390 ) but you are sacrificing mobility as the bike will be harder to lean or turn.
If you want to do it just make sure it's for the correct reasons :P and it suits your riding style
@@ivanscicluna2988 thanks. Keep well.
@@ivanscicluna2988imo a 140 fits the duke even better considering the rim size is fairly small for a 150
I changed mine to the Dunlop Sportmax Alpha 14. Sticks to the road in dry and wet condition. Also YSS rear suspension.
Very cool!
Nice video man new subscriber.
Thank you for posting this, I have a 2018 RC390 and no one in any videos has said anything about coober parts! I'm about to order the powerpackage !!
Because I started using powertronics instead
@@ClintEwingFreestyle what made you switch? Notice any differences between ecu's?
Do the powerstronics ecu void the warranty? I like that coober claims theirs won't.
Dude great build man
Could you recommend or suggest the underseat twin exhaust for duke 390?
It's better if you made a video about termingnoni, twin exhaust like in panigale v4.
Great mods, glad you kept the cat, spent too much time behind stinky cars/bikes last summmer.
lol the girl laying take sun haha
She a KTM Duchess ... color matched to the bike!
Yeah at the beginning I was like damn 👀
She was thinking, i wished he would spend 1/2 as much time on me, instead of on that stupid bike
What so funny??
ces't Sur Homme I’m sure she gets plenty of rides
I've used 300V oil since I've owned my 2016 390.... recently changed my clutch out and inspected the inside of the head @ 20,000 miles and still looking like a brand new engine on the inside.
Motul is no doubt top Oil Brand.
what oil did you use? This guy used 10W40 but everywhere else had different answers.
@@aricroy4258 I use 15w50 300v.
awesome vid
I would love to have a ride on that!!! The ktms aren't bad ether
Thanks man!
I hear some other videos and posts describing issues with the brakes, the lights fogging up, the leaky head gaskets on some of the earlier production models. I'm curious if KTM has done anything to address these issues, or do these issues still plague this bike?
That exhaust sounds badass almost feel like parking my xr650 and buying a ktmrc390
You wont be disappointed
I love my rc390
Gorgeous video from 0:32 to 0:33. 👏🏼
Ryan F9 reckons the RC390 with the same engine runs a little lean, does the ECU you put in run it a tad richer, especially with the higher airflow?
Every manufacturer tends to make their bike lean to get to the Euro 4 and Euro 5 emission standard.
Got vids with revs? With the new ecu of course. Great bike 👌
czcams.com/video/-ovqsXa5Ljs/video.html
Nice bulid bro 👍
much appreciated
How about sprockets? I'm thinking of changing mine on my cb400, I only ever do city rides and max only hit 110kmh on highway (legal limit and I can't risk a single point)
YOU may have just SOLD a New KTM for KTM Brother, After watching THIS Video i;m really thinking of getting A 390 DUKE [Probs NEW 24 Model] I love the way this Little Bike looks [After coming off Bigger bikes S-Sports] Because of Back Injury. Making the bike your own IS Part of owning Bikes and this Video is Well made Congrats/Best Wishes/Safe-Riding Wales [UK].
Wider tires just add a bit more weight and slows down the dropping in to the corners. Wide tires are needed for traction but thus lil thing doesn't need that with its slippet clutch and fairly light weight.
It does when you do wide circle wheelies
Put that wire cover back, it's heat resistant shield. It protects cables from the heat of engine
Really like the bars any chance you have a link to the bars and raisers? Thanks so much
1fngr sells the new risers and bars !
1fngr.com/products/1fngr-double-d-clamps
Nice man, what sort of security do you have for this bike?
i bought the coober ECU that you have. is there any video as how to install it? from any body? thanks in advance
Nice
Looks really really good!
Hi Clint,
Thanks for the informative video. As you advised before I have ordered the 1fngr duke 390 air filter box lid and it's about to come. It would be really helpful if you could update me with the purchase links of the protaper handlebar and the risers.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Subhojit
I want that sound similar to the 790
As a noobie, does that have any effect on the guarantee of the bike?
The video is amazing, congrats!
10W40 is too thin for the 390, because the single cylinder runs very hot. 15W50 is whats recommended in the users manual.
I recommend Michelin Road 5 tyres
Hey great video. Any chance you could link these products in your description? Also how were you able to remount your display using the new bar mounts? I'd like to go with a more low profile wider bar but need to change mounts in order to do that. Thx 👍
i just did www.1fngr.com
czcams.com/video/-ovqsXa5Ljs/video.html
0:32 a lil show off there nice
also where can i get a shorter version of the plate holder? again thanks in advance
ali express man.i buy plate holder for my ktm duke 125 and sits very good!
Cool video. I'd like to know how much the ECU improved the performance.
Better throttle response and smoother roll on power. I run the PowerTronic ECU that 1fngr sells and super happy! especially with quick shifter
Can anyone recommend their 2023 year choice between the CB300R, Yamaha MT-03 or Duke 390? I’m 5’11” tall, 175-pound weight, with a 34” inseam pants size. Thanks!
Handlebar change looks fantastic
Thnx !
Does the aftermarket air filter change give more power?
I guess the company recommends to use the oem air filter if you're gonna use the filter lid what are your thoughts on that thanks for the video
I use the OEM in conjection with coober lid filter which seems to really smooth out the bike and better throttle reaction
Hi Clint, I'd like to ask about the effect of the air box lid.
Thank you.
I can probably respond to some extent on this.
I purchased one after reviewing this video, I've noticed that the noise produced from the bike has become much more prominent. More so than the noticeable difference made by my Leo Vince slip-on over the stock exhaust on my 2018 390 duke. I've noticed that I get more glances and stares and it's quite noticeable by the rider as well. Feeling and hearing more noise coming from between your legs.
Additionally, I've had this about a week, of which today was the last day of rain. The box and lid/foam seems to do really well even when put into extremely humid and wet environments.
As far as performance goes, I've not done any other modifications (including no ECU upgrade (still running stock)) and I've seen a slight performance gain, especially in the 3k-5k rpm range as well as up in the 9.5k-10.5k (redline) rpm.
Too early to tell on gas mileage, but I want to say that it might be slightly less.
Kory Kinnett which Leovince slip-on are you using, bro?
I also use the Leovince GP One for my Duke. At low rpm (3k-7k), it accelerates noticeable faster the original muffer. But at high rpm (7k up), it choke for a moment then speeds up.
Now I'm considering to upgrade its air filter to see if it could fix the problem.
Hey what’s up. Did you have to mod the small werkes exhaust to fit the bike that is already done. I have a 2020 and wanted to go with that little werkes exhaust but it says it won’t fit.
yeah i think they are making a new exhaust for the 2021
0:32 you’re welcome
Thanks Clint. I will be doing some of your mods. Air filter lid and tyres definitely. Any ideas on brake updates?
I run 1fngr mount so I can run p34 footbrake
2:17 isn’t that a pre-silencer? I believe the cat is just before that, you can see it from the other side :)
Stiffer spring: maxing out the clicks on the stock spring for resistance was insufficient for you? I've got my 125 at 10 clicks and I weigh 240lbs! I'm with you, I prefer the stiffer suspension as well. What final gear ratio are you using? I thought that would make your top 10.
I'm now at stock front 50 rear
Get promo links to each product in your description and earn commission. Nice video, plan on picking one up in the next few weeks
I really hope KTM will have new V Twin 390 in future
They are coming with RC and Duke 500 2 cylinder engine.
Yeah they are making a 500cc parallel twin with bajaj
Do the 390s have any sort of air mods you can do like a blowby recirculation or ais blovk off or anything of the sort?
I tried clean air mod and almost blew my seals on my 2018 duke
How is the handling on the larger tires? Is it getting pinched. One of the great things about the duke is the light flickability and steering. Is that effected? Thanks
Its just my opinion but I love the option of better tires (grp300) (q3) when you go up in size. I dont notice less flickability. Love the extra traction.
you guys didn't get knuckle guard as a stock? and that integrated grab rail for pillion is great...............
How did you mount the Protaper with the TFT?
Great build.I am curious about the handlebar and TFT display and what kind of custom bracket did you make. I can't get the idea of this stupid 26.5 mm handlebar diameter and the restriction of the original stem.
Had to cut stock display and make 2 slim brackets that smashed into the handlebar clamps
@@ClintEwingFreestyleThanks. And what about turning signals?
@clint Ewing do you have any intel on the TFT mount after upgrading the mount/bars?
No sir
The girl in background has matching color of her bikini top to KTM orange! Thats what I call passion!
If you don’t have any loudness issues in your country you can replace that on the exhaust. It is not the cat! It’s the premuffler. The cat is round and seats before the premuffler.
the black exhaust box is called the pre-silencer not the cat the cat is the next pipe up its confusing but I found it out the hard way by purchasing the Wong pipe hahah
Do you happen to have a link for that slip on exhaust. I've been looking for something of that sort of tough metal look but cant find anything in the uk

@@ClintEwingFreestyle thanks mate appreciate it
@jackson joseph email me info@clintewing.com
in the last shots i see you’ve managed to mount the screen even with pro taper bar clamps. i want that same handlebar setup but want to keep the screen too so if you could explain the solution you adopted i would very much appreciate it. thank you!
Yes I'd like to know too
@@AutomotiveAllStars cut the OEM bracket and made spacers and adapters. Dm my Instagram @clintewing
How much are each of these? The exhaust need reprogramming the ECU? Thank you very much
How’d you manage to put the Dash together with the fat bar clamps? Did you make a custom bracket for it?
Yes custom made
That's not the Cat you are pointing to. It's the main canister. Cat is just above it on the other side of bike which your part does delete as well. I would remove the main canister as it weighs a tonne. Mufflers, without header and tuned mid section do little to nothing for power on the 390s, just noise. Best mod is ecu as they run way to lean from stock which makes them jerky down low and run hot. Should be way smoother now.
Top duke 390 stunt upgrade, sell it and get 636 with reinforced frame and new gearbox
Hey Clint i just bought a 390 2019. i was wondering all the models are the same? since i am in south america i am just checking it the models differ according to the region the are being delivered.?
The ECU comes configured already? tanks in advance
All same
ktm rules
Could you provide some more info on the racetech spring? Is that installed on the stock shock?
Yes took off rear spring and installed racetech instead for stiffer feel
@@ClintEwingFreestyle Great thanks for the input! Also, is the competition werkes exhaust you a direct bolt on to the newer 390 duke? i recall reading about a '16 header being needed?
@@ericlikewhoa side silencer is direct bolt on. In frame gp exhaust requires 2015-2016 Header.
Ive ridden the bike 4500 miles through colorado canyons. I'm finally about to start modding
I'm right there with you (except 6700 miles and through Georgia mountains.)
@Clint Ewing. Any idea if this tire set-up would be ideal for canyon carving? U mention you ride agressive. Stunt agressive or canyon agressive or both?
I'm stunt aggressive so not sure if it would be your best application for track
@@ClintEwingFreestyle thanks for the quick note.
How were you able to fit the protaper and the tft dash? Running into some issues trying to figure it out
custom made bracket. dm me on IG @clintewing
Any issues with the Cooper ECU? How long has it been on the bike? Thanks
Zero issues and have had on my stunt bike for 1 yr. Just installed second on my new 390. Love the extra 1,000 rpm at top end

too much fun for the $
What interval do you change your oil and chain cleaning
For stunt riding pretty damn often
Do you still own this bike? Cause I’m buying a 2019 duke out of Salem Oregon and it has that exact slip on exhaust
This may be a novice question, but will the speedometer need adjusting to accurately reflect the speed after any of the upgrades?
yes but It was of no concern to me since I dont pay attn to it
Clint, where did you find the Nissin brakes? Thanks!
Ebay
Hey man I’ve noticed 1finger doesn’t have much in parts anymore.., do you mind shooting me a text of a parts list to do to the 390?
actually they have more now, cages, clutches, brakes, handbrake, exhausts, air mod, p34 brackets, brake lines
Yo clint what gear is best to throw it up??? N any tips to make it go up...rev on 1st n pop? Or on second gear os best?
Stock does just fine but you can always go down 1 tooth in front for street riding
Can we put the old version duke 390 underbelly exhaust in the new one??
With 2015 header
Im really looking into my first bike for my daily commute to work its a 16 mile ride how would you guys suggest the ride is on highway on this bike?
Not bad. You can go down in rear 3 teeth and be nearly perfect for highway
I noticed the tft dash fit on the protapers. Did that require a new mount?
Yes custom made
0:31 - a GREAT upgrade 🙂
Can you tell me where you get your Wheelie bar and sliders
Axel sliders frame sliders
Thank you

If I was to just get the coober air box lid only will I still need to replace program or get a different ecu? Will it throw a code or have throttle lag with just the top lid for the air box?
Dont NEED to but helps balance out the increase in air intake.
@ClintEwingFreestyle okay second question if I was to add the airbox lid and just the mini cat delete or "de cat" keeping the stock headers & stock exhaust will it throw a code? Or have throttle lag? To the point I will need to upgrade the ecu
Lol girl comes with motorcycle parts?😍😍
I think it's reduced the milage if u changed the ecu .and got more heat in engine
