    Out in the field, we mainly used the shower unit for irrigating wounds and cleaning large scrapes and gouges along with removing any irritating agents. Pure sterile water !!
    We still boiled water in large units for showers.

    After watching your review, I would agree with you about the shower pressure; however, I am thinking it would be nice to use when rinsing off dishes and such. Hopefully their engineers will work on that improvement.

    Thorough review, nicely presented. I saw another guy review it on a qell known channel, but your evaluation was en pointe, you showed us the filter and focused on all aspects. Great work. One criticism I would like to make is that you never said where it's manufactured. I believe its British made/ developed.

    I guess faster flow means it wouldn’t have time to filter properly? Great review, thanks, think this system is perfect for making wild water safe, for drinking and dishes etc. Well worth the investment.
    For showering think I’d just use that filtered water in a bucket with a battery shower pump like a Liberrway.

    Question? Why don't life savor creat a thermal blanket wrap for the cans for winter. Something fitted. Like the ballistic nylon outside thermal insulated inside. I have a dometic refrigerator and I purchased the thermal wrap for it. Neat thing is. If it's cold it will hold the cold in. If it's warm it stays warm. Basically it keeps the product from having abrupt temperature changes. Which is nice

    I was all in until I saw the price. I've been vanlife traveling since 2014 and I can testify the weed sprayer with a sink sprayer is still the best showering tool.

    • @adidas4275
      @adidas4275 Před 3 lety +1

      The price is competitive with filters of that quality + a 5 gallon water rotopax. It isn’t crazy. What do you use to filter water when you are boondocking?

    • @Quattro4k82
      @Quattro4k82 Před 2 lety +1

      It's not even that expensive. I guess I value life more than a few hundred bucks.

    • @reidtillery2856
      @reidtillery2856 Před rokem

      This is not a mere filter. This is a purifier, meaning it will filter out viruses. That's what makes it expensive, but worth it. MSR sells a pump purifier for about $400. It will purify a liter in about 1 minute. So, comparatively this is a good price.

      Cut the top out of a smart water bottle and use that as a scoop to fill your Jerry can. Or make a baler out of a 2 quart milk bottle and use that to fill the Jerry can.

    What rate of flow should we expect?
    Yours looks quite good. Ours seemed ok at home after priming and pumping.
    However after a week of travelling only using drinking water taps to fill up ours only seems to trickle out, like a tinkle 😢

    How well does the jerry dispense the water if it's in a vertical position? The way it would sit in my jerry can holder would be upright and not easy to rotate.

    I just got one and it seems bulged out when its on the side and really doesn't sit flat. I was trying to see if yours did that too and when you are demonstrating the shower yours doesn't seem to sit flat either. Its not a super big deal, but do you notice that too or did I get a bad one?

    • @dustinschulz5707
      @dustinschulz5707 Před rokem

      No after using the filter once , you have to change the filter cartridge in 3 years. So you would need a second cartiridge. One cartridge can filter 20.000 Liter, so if you need more water within 3 years you will need more then 2 cartridges

    You said that the amount one filter can do is 2500 gallons. BUT, on the LifeSaver website it says: "Filter Capacity: 5282 Gallons". Is the website not accurate when it says it can filter over 5000 gallons?

    • @WanderingBeast
      @WanderingBeast  Před 3 lety +3

      Yes, in fact I recently ruined a filter, cause I took it out so it wouldn't freeze and did not put enough water in the ziplock bag, so it dried up and now won't flow water, so I'll need to order another filter unfortunately

      @@WanderingBeast I’ve had one for about a month. It worked great the first couple of uses but then the water just stopped flowing properly. I emailed customer support and they sent me a new filter. I installed it and it worked properly for about 4 seconds then went right back to barely flowing. When I unscrew the cap there’s a ton of air pressure released. Not really sure what the issue is, it’s never had less than a half a jug of water in it.

    • @mas247

      This is the one big downside to this system. Given that it had to stay wet, but can't freeze, makes it higher maintenance than I would like it to be.

    After this video I bought one.
    Can I send back it back to Biden now ?
    DID’t last. Made me disabled after given £200
    Life saver was water not that tank 😅
    Bought one for £200 when my van was new.
    A 20L tin Jerry can was around £20
    Used this for couple of month
    now, didn’t last
    now I will try to fit these filter and pump on a tin Jerry can.
    recently started to pump every time I need to drink, because it couldn’t keep it pressured air in, started leaking from lids when pressured air kept inside.
    I started using it without pressure and pump every time I need water, than take out pressure again. I got used to that.
    Two days ago on right the side I had 3 little holes, when it was standing alone on it’s place, every time I pressure there is shower on the right side towards my sugar cup
    from the plastics melting band.
    And there was no pressure kept in during last weeks of its life
    Going into to bin ?
    Thanks. I carry around
