Conan's writers are legends for showing their gracious defeat in failed sketches and especially humility about their success.
The guys who wrote the DelTaco DelFlusho sketch weren't all that humble about their success. They really had confidence in their bit and it's the meta cherry on top of the bit.
I think more late shows should have a segment like "Scraps". It's really cool to get some insight into the writing process and on what works and what doesn't. Tony cracking up over the bad sketch was hilarious! :D

He's been doing this for more than half his life at this point. He's more experienced than almost any writer or talk show host out there right now.

I remember watching Conan as a young lad back in 1976. It snowed in Tampa that year (only there for a year, so I'm not as "FloridaMan" as i could have been). Tony was just as funny back then, filming in black and white, as he is today. Bravo Tony, Bravo.
