If you get 2021 model it has led headlight and improved rear suspension but is not for offroad. When the fuel light comes on it has 100km left in the tank so not a problem really.👍
1. Swap the forks to usd, raise the rear by +25mm 2. Akra Ti headers and muffler 3. Sargent seat 4. Kineo wheels w'6" rear 5. Bembo rcs master cylinders 19/16 with DOT clutch
Enjoyed your video, I purchased a F850GSA after being off a bike for 20 years. Starting wish I'd bought a R nineT Urban GS. I'm interresred in the mods you performed. Keep us posted. I'm also in Texas.
Where is the rear fender? Not having one makes a mess, damages the under carriage and sprays more crap on your riding kit. Taking off the reflectors is a silly thing to do if you ride mostly street considering how you just put on a brighter headlight. Taking off the emission unit suggests you care little about the environment. It’s your bike and you can do what you like. The number one add on is a center stand. I love that I did that on my urban GS.
I am yet to see an R 9 T with a rear fender. It does not come with one from factory either. No one in my group has it either. Unless I get caught in rain I don’t ride in rain. You can call me a fair weather rider😂 Emission stuff does not really do anything unless you are testing the bike in a lab check around, read up. It is to satisfy Euro norms again in lab testing. In US no such requirements. It is just extra weight that belongs in a dumpster. I mean I ride a 1200cc motorcycle if one is so concerned about environment should may be go for 250cc motorcycle or better yet Electric. I do own and preserve 25 acres of backyard full of mature trees. So my environment footprint is pretty balanced. The bright headlight is so I can see the road and it is adaptive so I can see the corners. The reflectors don’t do anything. They are completely useless if a driver cannot see such a bright headlight and an LED taillight, they are sure not gonna see two tiny reflectors. I thought about center stand but went with Pit Bull stand instead as the bike sits quit low as is.
Definitely get it super retro bike. I have 1200 GS and 310 GS besides this one. Definitely different feel and one for the stable. Way more fun than 310R
Thanks for the video. Having to pay extra for the rev meter and still no fuel indicator made me choose not to buy this model. However, I love the retro look.
How easy was it to install the rev meter, please? BMW OEM online parts catalogues don't list it for the Urban GS, presumably because it doesn't fit inside the cowl. But clearly it does. I'm curious whether it was plug-and-play for you or whether you had to make some adjustments. Thanks!
There is a couple of CZcams videos covering the pre 21 R nine t pure / urban /scrambler single clocks to dual clocks including all the parts you need, one option you need to get right is ensuring the cover / shroud on the new rev counter matches the existing speedo housing color , the cable for the rev counter functions is tucked up under the tank at the right hand side under the tank at the front. Please search out the rev counter upgrade videos you will find all the part numbers you need. I have done this upgrade on a R nine t /5 50th anniversary bike which shipped with the single speedo as well. Installation was easy for me with some torx tools
Above reply is good. Sit is very straightforward, and it fits. The headlights sits higher than regular R nine T so it might make a slight contact but not a big deal.
I got the same and for me it works perfect stock from factory, of course you can improve it with your mod’s, but I wonder if it worth the money you’ve put in it.
Definitely for you to decide. So far I have not regretted any mods. I am about to change the handle bar riser to Voigt 23mm back and 25mm high for little better sitting position for my liking
Clusters from dealership. All the parts list etc dealership can pull up or there are you tube videos already for that as well. If you Google there are forum posts on it too. Fuel I typically just feel up the first chance I get after the reserve light comes on.
No bigger 21” wheel makes it hard to maneuver on the road. Besides bigger wheel requires a lift. I stayed with factory height. It does ride a lot better on rough roads, gravel and dirt tracks. Suspension works awesome
Not sure which vibrations you are talking about. The exhaust flapper/butterfly removal made the bike ultra smooth in acceleration. Single best cheapest mode. If you could do only one mode definitely Ohlins suspension (I know you did not ask that:-)

I would add a fender that stops rain and mud from splashing all over the engine. Those short fenders are so dumb imho.

@tedhoppe5918 ur comments suggest ur a tool.
Very helpful! In thinking of getting this as my next bike. I have the G310R right now.

@@urbanacres7189thanks. That is my debate. 310 or urban gs.

APPRECIATED.

Can you tell me where did you get the upgraded instrument cluster? How do you keep track of fuel consumption then?
Clusters from dealership. All the parts list etc dealership can pull up or there are you tube videos already for that as well. If you Google there are forum posts on it too. Fuel I typically just feel up the first chance I get after the reserve light comes on.
Hi I saw the video you made about your dogs!! I have the same kind of mix. How big do they get?
About 130pounds or so.
did u think of getting bigger wheels after susp upgrade? hows the offroad now with the new suspension?

Can you give list of mods please plus any links to buy them ?
Did your emission mods help with the vibrations ?
