- Ahoy Legends, in this episode Elksy and I continue our southern adventures this time fishing Ultra Deep divers over the inshore reefs. We didn't think we'd catch some of these fish!! We started the trip with the intentions of catching snapper on the troll, but it quickly became apparent that snapper weren't the only fish keen to snaffle the lures! Hope you enjoy the episode!

I’d rather be fishing than watching fishing, but when I can’t get out and fish Sammy’s channel is as good as it gets
Appreciate the kind words mate! Thanks for watching 🍻🍻
Give Elksy a fish you monster 😂
Great video Sam and Elksy.
That looks like so much fun.
🍻🍻🍻
Nice Pearlie. Chicken of the sea!
Thanks for sharing your experience I did enjoy the video
Thanks for watching 🙌🙌
Hey Sammy thanks once again for always showing us new techniques, love Sunday arvo beers nd watching something new cheers man
Appreciate the support mate! Thanks for watching 🍻🍻
hi Sammmy, been away for a little bit but from here, you still got it mate.
Off bunny!! Good snapper holes there
🍻🍻🍻
Red Rock cod can get pretty big, my biggest was just under 50cm, they're actually pretty good on the chew but a pain to fillet
They actually make awesome fish tacos if you scale and gut a few reasonable ones (15cm plus) and just half roast them , flake the meat off and then fry it up with your spices of choice. If you're ever back in Coffs and want a feed just sink a few baits near pig island just outside the harbour, and I guarantee you'll bag out on decent sized Rock cod within half an hour
Seriously though, if you come down this way again then hit me up, your new tinny would be perfect to beach launch from arrawarra or Woolgoolga, and we could fish some of the shallow reefs up north that get way less flogged than where you were fishing with elksy, and there's always kings or pelagics round the islands , or we send it on my big boat "motorboat"
Tight lines anyway @sammy
Red rock cod are delicious just takes a careful hand to fillet them! Cracking video mate
Hahah yeah the forbidden fillets! 😂😂
Got in early on this one!
Love the content and keep up the good work
Congrats on the great day
Appreciate it mate! Thanks for watching 🍻🍻
Looks liek a blast. Im super pumped to try get into some Aussie fish when Im there in a few weeks.
🙌🙌🙌🙌
Thanks again for another cracking video. Can I ask what speed you would normally troll at?
Hi Sammy I enjoy your videos get to learn from them here.
Just one question what area where you both fishing here on the mid north coast of NSW. I have never tried this way to catch Snapper but after watching both of the outings down on mid north coast. I would be very grateful if you would tell where you were chasing Snapper please.
Kind regards John
Wicked 🔥🎣🤙🏼
Nice fishing
i agree with your take on SOA. Started off pretty good but then went all hollywood.
What are the trolling holders you had? Also, What is the thing up front that holds your scents?
Cheers
Haha it did didn’t it! Just got a bit unbelievable!
Those rod holders are hook ‘em rod riggers. Not sure on the scent holder. That’s an Elksy question!
Need to do a trip over to WA for a dhufish, cousin to the perch but on a far bigger scale 👌
Yeah it’s definitely on the list! They look like awesome fun to chase! 👌👌
Hey Sammy, where do you get those side rod holder inserts and what are they called?
Those are called hook ‘em rod riggers 👍👍
Must have tiny snapper size limits in QLD - got to be 50cm to keep in WA
Always look forward to Sunday arvo's with Sammy ... although i think after today we need to rename the channel to "Sammy 'The Rod Hog' Hitzke Fishing" ... lol
😂😂😂😂 always love a rod in my hand.
You have great videos on your.channel.
Which lures would you fish to reach 9 to 10.meter depth?
Another great video thanks Sammy. Do you have a link to those rod holder extension joey's you're using here.mate?
Thanks mate! I don’t have the link but they are called hook ‘em rod riggers 👌
@SammyHitzkeFishing thanks heaps mate.
Was fishing in 60 mtrs of water a couple of weeks ago and was getting tailor on the bottom??
Same caught up to 60m in numbers
Crazy hey! Wonder what makes them go out there instead of hugging the coast??
Don’t really know been fishing the same spot for 20 years this is the first year I’ve caught them that deep in numbers
@@SammyHitzkeFishing Been getting some nice jew lately.if your interested give me a yell I’m not to far from you
Nice video mate👌What type of 4.4 tinny does Elksy have?
Great video!
What is your trolling speed with these ultra deep lures?
Nice and slow mate! Just idling along 👌👌
I get tailor in 56m of water 5 meters off the bottom
I'm no fisho or anything but how do you know how deep those lures dives to even get in the zone
All different lures will tell you maximum dive depth on the packaging
A lot of trial and error as well mate. Usually hit the bottom sooner or later and then have a good idea of what depth the lure is at 👍
It's a great area for reds and tailor but pearlies that size in that close is a secret the locals have been keeping to themselves.
Very poorly kept secret then! I used to read about people catching pearlies on plastics with their snapper there in fishing magazines wayyy back in the day, then again on fishing shows, not too mention looking at any social media every weekend the weather is good.. 🤷♂️
@@SammyHitzkeFishing I knew they get plenty on the wider reefs off there but not that close in.
I'll post of your insta a WA Dhu fish we managed to get on the trawl off Two Rocks in WA. Was blown away.
Yeah I saw! That’s crazy!!!
Red Harry’s are delicious 😋
Sammy what brand were the rod extensions you were using??
I’ll have to give them a try!
Those are hook ‘em rod riggers 👍
@@SammyHitzkeFishing thanks Sammy 👍 keep up the good work. I really enjoyed the your vids in NSW cause that’s our everyday fishing.
How far behind the boat do you troll the lures?
At least 40m
What George said ☝️☝️
Reels in professional deep sea diver
wow nice video💖💝💝💗
Thanks for watching 🍻
Can confirm you can catch tailor in 70m on the bottom
Hahah yeah it’s crazy hey! We caught them in 80m in the same place we livebait for marlin!
What lures are those
Hey mate, I listed them in the video 👍
Zerek Mumba Shad
Duo G87 20A
Zerek 130mm tango Shad 👍
Please tell location, town. Coffs ?
Pearl Perch, fkn delicious 😊
Can confirm! Veeeerry tasty! 👌👌
What a cracker of a Pearly 🍻🍻
Cheers mate! I was stoked!!
I'm always on the feed...spending petro and tackle...bringing something back for sure. Why wouldn't you.
Because I already had plenty of fish at home from another trip. No use taking more than I need 👍👍
napper love bright colors deep divers orige yellos
I’ll have to give it a try. I’ve always caught more on natural colours 👌
10hrs late, that's what happens when on vakay.
Hahah bloody oath mate, relaxin time 💪💪
when you gonna catch some marlin again good content Arthur Branford East london South Africa
Our marlin season doesn’t really start for another couple of months unfortunately! 🍻🍻
@@SammyHitzkeFishing
@@SammyHitzkeFishing thanks for reply keep on catching
Sammy: I think the reason you lose so many fish is that you often don't set the hook! There is tremendous pressure on and off with 14.7 pounds per square inch every 33 feet, sorry American lingo you know. Every 33 foot atmosphere you bring the little devils up, the external pressure on that fish decreases by 14.7 pounds per square inch. Set the hook early and keep the line tight! Sorry, you are a great fisherman, but I started fishing at about 5 and am now in my 70's and learned a few things. sm
Thanks mate I’ll give it a try 👍👍
Don’t make a Grinner episode.
Hahah you can’t stop me 😂😂
