New Siemens VIA Rail Set Leaves Sacramento For Delivery 7/29/22

  • UP 5275 arrived at the Siemens plant in South Sacramento on 7/29/22 to pick up a brand new trainset headed for VIA Rail in Montreal, the train is seen leaving the plant and at two locations in Sacramento. Also seen are 4 trains on the UP Fresno Subdivision prior to the initial move, enjoy!

    They look great, but I must say I’m not fond of the dark gray. I think they would look better if they went for a bluer tone.

    What are the white spots on the leading wheel of each bogie?

      It might have made it easier to see if the drive wheels were slipping during testing. Other than that, I've no idea.

      this is how they all look in NA, Chargers and venture cars (based on Viaggio Comfort). we may see some pulled by ACS-64 which are EuroSprinters modified for US market

    Is it not ironic that, after the rise of the car dominant culture at the expense of trains, they reverse is now happening. The original, and by far the best way of travelling any distance, is by train. And now that mode is emerging as part of the solution to the problems of climate change.
