- One of my favorite places to shop for teacups and saucers, is an antique mall. The numerous vendor booths provide a nice variety of items, and sometimes you can find real treasures. But it’s important to know what to look for and what to avoid. Come with me to a Dallas antique mall as I look for tea tablescape treasures!
This video is not sponsored but my thanks to Forestwood Antique Mall, Dallas, TX.

Some of my favorite pieces are vintage. Do you set your tea table with things you have found while wandering around a thrift store or antique mall? Tell me about your prize discoveries in the comments below!
Antique stores are a weakness of mine, especially for china finds.
I love seeing the beautiful pieces you have and learning everything I can.
Thank You!
i never knew about the danger of crazing. Thank you for the warning.
I have probably 18-20 really nice teapots I've accumulated over the past 30 years, mostly from 1800-1900. I probably use about half of them. A great teapot that you love really does add to the enjoyment.
Another thing I enjoy is having a nice collection of about 11-12 antique porcelain tea caddies that hold my loose teas.
I love going through antique shops. One thing I always remember is leave the American Express card at home that way I won’t come home with way too much stuff.
Yes, great idea. So much can be tempting!
Thank you for the fabulous antique shop tour! We have The Brass Armadillo here in Denver and wow! It’s a treasure trove of stuff like this. Aisles and aisles of antiques. And tea settings and linens are my favorite hunts. ❤
There sure is some BEAUTIFUL china in that there shop! We do not have anything like it where I live, although I have managed to buy a few new pretty bone china coffee mugs at second hand stores for very reasonable prices. I think that the pretty patterns are not popular or they don't know the value of bone china, which I love mainly because it does not chip.
People have been eating off of crazed dishes for centuries without experiencing negative health issues (to quote a pottery supply site). My personal opinion-for whatever it's worth- is that there's other greater issues to be concerned about (like salmonella, hand hygiene in public, etc.) than a small potential for bacteria in old dishes. If you want to be extra careful, maybe don't use them at a public venue, but by all means, enjoy Grandma's crazed china/pottery at your next Thanksgiving dinner with family!
Of course, you do you! But countless articles on pottery expert websites say crazing renders a dish no longer food safe. I know it’s disappointing. We all want to continue to use Grandma’s things! ✨😉
I love markets. There's one every Saturday at a Metro station not far from me. They usually have plenty of tea services there. I saw some beautiful 3 tier cake stands that I would love to have but I don't have the room.
Did you know that Staffordshire is known as The Potteries, for obvious reasons. Stoke on Trent being the main centre. It's a place I'm sure you would love.
Oh I do so wish I could visit there! Markets are hard to just ‘visit,’ aren’t they? I find there is always something I want to need!
