A very nice list. I haven't made it to any of the spots in autumn yet, however I do like Arashiyama during sakura season.

i really love spring with all the beautiful flowers but autumn is really something........ its so magical.... it always gives you mix emotion....... gloomy, happy, longing..... plus the cool weather just adds the feeling to it....

I was lucky enough to visit Japan for the first time in Autumn. NIkko and Kyoto were the best places I visited for this experience.

The plaintive chirp of the transient life's autumn insects permeates our Japanese hearts from 1000 years ago .
The row of ginkgo looks like the yellow carpet by falling leaves .
From chaotic Tokyo of the Land of the Rising Sun
melts the eyes in 4k.
Tofukuji is my favorite koyo spot, it has the most intense and dense autumn colors imo, and Nanzenji is spectacular too

Top 10 would have to include Iya Valley in Miyoshi. The Iya River/Obeke Gorge is absolutely stunning during the fall.

I didn't know Nikko turned already in October...definitely gonna give it a go this time around.
I guess you have no clue the amount of radiation still being ejected by Fukushima. 300 metric tons a day, in fact. Probably more. I suggest a destination not on the Pacific Coast. Do your homework.
No one is forcing you to go to Fukushima. Don't stick your nose in other ppls business.

I went to Nasushiobara, part of Nikko National Park early November. The beauty of the river and valley with autumn foliage is breath-taking as well. Some trekking along the river would help you keep yourself fit and be good for fresh air. It’s easier to go there by Tohoku Shinkansen than to Nikko.

Its obviously my dream to live in Japan but I really dont want to teach english in Japan! Arent there any other options!

神奈川県伊勢原市の大山もモミジは結構有名よ夜はライトアップするし夜のハイキングをしながらの紅葉鑑賞は疲れるけどなかなかの物
大山は豆腐も有名だし外国人には受けると思うけどまだ知ってる海外勢は少ないだろうね

So it's Mid Oct - Mid Nov in Tokyo and Fujisan area that I can view the foliage? I thought it's during Mid Nov - Early Dec.
In Tokyo you can actually see autumn colors around late November to early December.

I'm a bit surprised Miyajima isn't in the top 10, isn't autumn the best season to visit there? They have many omiyage themed around maple leafs so I thought it was... any reasons it didn't make it in the top?
Indeed Miyajima is one of the top places to visit in Japan and it looks remarkably beautiful during autumn. In our opinion though, the places listed in the video have better fall colors, even though many are not as famous. If we made a "Top 20 Autumn Color Spots" video, certainly Miyajima would be included.

The color of foliage is in dark scarlet.
The Buddhist temple stands alone,
Merely half of its wall is shown.
The golden bell is tolling in deep sound.
Life should be prettier than what the autumn maple did.
It adds thirty per cent of its beauty,
Before leaves are landing the ground.
