- Top things you shouldn't do in a manual car, but probably will anyway include popping your clutch, rev matching EVERYWHERE and wiggling that gearstick at every single moment possible.
Do you do any of these? I do (allegedly).

True petrol heads go 100 mph and then downshift to first.
I've heard they go into R, Race gear for added speed.
never though about the race gear, gunna use it for now
It's called "rocket mode"
The R stands for Reallyspeedygear
Running Nigerian Your profile picture is the face you make when you put it into first at 100mph
Tesco Carpark + Handbrake + clutch dump to powerslide into a disabled spot.
The true hero way
Need a FWD car
FWD? Check.
When does my training begin?
Using up half the tank for an overtake is absolutely worth it.
Its not bragging in the UK, where basically everyone drives a manual
65% I’d say , although I believe 90% can drive manual. Apart from some new gens
giving it a lot of gas in reverse and hearing the straight cut gear noise that race cars make
Wait you named your self after a car?
LOL I did this on a driving lesson when I did pull up and reverse on the right.
wait a moment isnt taytay, moogs silvia?
Taking a clear roundabout like you are Sebastian vettel disregarding everything your instructor told you about roundabouts 😂
When you take the racing line on every corner...
I do that even more in an automatic because all my focus is on steering. It shortens the distance from A to B & allows you to catch up while maintaining the speed limit in slow areas.
Running through all your gears (including reverse) on a red light while holding the clutch in.
HAHAHAHAHA the stick wiggle man I can't get enough of it. I do it all the time, sometimes coming up to roundabouts while double clutching :DD I can relate to all of these sadly :(
0:00 Is this a Scotty Kilmer vid?
REV UP YOUR ENGINES
Don't forget to ring that bell! :,)
At a stop light and you’re going to race the person next to you make sure you put it into R and rev up to 6000 rpms and let go of the clutch...it’ll give you a massive launch
R means Race Mode
Lol what would actually happen?
Derpfish it would reverse.. aha
@@mikecuff8691 Lol i'm an idiot
Picture this... you're accelerating away from Tesco, bang 1st, then chirp in 2nd, your 1.4 litre tire slayer is doing you proud... but alas, a police car is seen waiting in the junction ahead.
Do you:
A: Bang 2nd continuing to row up the gears as if its the Oxford vs Cambridge boat race; and pray your car is too slow for the rozzers to notice
B: Slam on your 'aftermarket' Brembo's, foot to the floor... who needs ABS am I right?
or
C: Quickly change into 5th, as if nothing has ever happened and you're leisurely accelerating to the speed limit
C
@@Ellisrb D: Downshift into 1st and use the overreving engine to slow you down
i dunno about police abroad, but i've chirped with cops behind me, so long as you proceed to drive civilizedly afterwards, they'll just think you're inexperienced with the clutch.
Hmm...What happens if I brake with my left foo...*eats steering wheel*... Ok gotta practice that. So anyone else left foot brakes for no apparent reason when on the highway or is it just me?
I have never done that, however now I want to see how badly that will go xD
Yes I have done it, coming up to a roundabout I decided to do it, very bad idea! I ended up coming to a stand still doing an emergency stop before I even got to the roundabout completely by accident😂
You will brake much more abruptly, This is because A a car isn't designed to be braked with the left foot but also because you have no muscle memory for such an action and therefore cannot modulate the brakes.
Lluís Montilla I tried Left foot braking once NEVER AGAIN lol
2 times for me, quite a thrill, not that imma do it again, because it's not my time yet to die. (I was just testing that if it was a fluke XD P.s. it wasnt)
Jesus is my airbag
God is my seat belt 😂
judas is my power steering
Bimbo is my brakes
That awkward moment your gf gets a breast reduction then you take out the Airbags of your car.
And then tell her you did this to us...
What if you’ve got a 1.0 and can’t do a second gear chirp because you don’t have enough power
Sad times 😥
Me and my aygo 😣
Mercy t me and my polo 6n2 😂
Hahaha my good old lupo
you do a 1st gear chirp like i've done in my 106.
oh wait, _everything's heavier now_
I wanted to make this video as a mild parody take of my older videos and a lot of the videos I see around a lot on CZcams right now. Working on a lot of videos this week and trying to focus on seeing just what I can do with my time. See you soon ;)
Paynos please do a video on rev matching, downshifting, upshifting 😂
did you drive Henie time automatic car? or never ?
Like the vids man! Very helpful
Lol just realized i do the heal toe, rev matching down shifts all the time, even if i'm just slowing down for traffic lights, or going up a hill or want to overtake or just feel like reeving the shit out of my car to 40mph in a 40 obvs, pfftt...... In an aygo cause am hard bro.
but rev matching reduces wear on the clutch
:(
hell yeah i do brother
*heel-toes every downshift with mum in the car with L plates on* :)
My honest favorite was the stick wiggle. "Is in neutral? *wiggle* [smug] It is now."
Oh dear god, I’ve only passed my driving a couple of months and this video has made me realise how much I rev match, it’s too much 😂
I learnt to pull off on that long road you did the intro on!
Hi, random question but whenever I finish a lesson I have a really painful right leg. For some reason my right leg aches really bad I was almost limping when I got out of his car. Most people I asked say it should be my left leg from the clutch but no its my right leg from accelerating. Any tips on this? Thanks :)
Funniest video I've seen in a while man. Keep up the good work 👍
2:47 was brilliant 😂😂😂😂
This is me driving to the shops 😁 classic yobbo!
I rev match and heel and toe all the time on my daily commute lol , I can't stop my self it just feels natural now. Plus it balances the car on downshifting which is needed especially when having a spirited drive on some b roads and when done right it's better on your transmission if it goes wrong though lol esp in a rwd car you'll lock up the rear end like a hand brake turn.
How do you know my mum has a Corsa? 🤔
Octávio Varanda everyone has a corsa
true
gonatrollya I got a corsa😂, only problem is I haven’t got my license yet...😂.
Easily the funniest video you have ever made 😂
Used to love a good ol’ Reverse - 1st in my old polo 😜
Judging by the state of the Ibizas 'box feel like mines had a few of em too lmao
When you start thinking " why do i use my right foot and not my left foot to push the brake" than give the left foot his fair share and you literally hear your tires
go on a full stop O.O
Imma follow all the tips and tricks. Thanks! I'll be buying a new car every month. Is that expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Hell yes!
Brilliant work! LONG LIVE THE YOBBO'S!
Is that a boost gauge in the car? and does it work?
Been hitting the gym lad
He’s on a 12 week cycle
Were you in Preston on Sunday by the Harley Davidson shop in the fiat 124 abarth, I'm sure it was you I was in a Kia picanto Gt Line in front in white
Where did you get the sticker on the dash
Where'd you get that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ sticker?
I own a manual, in 18, unfortunately, said manual transmission is connected to a tractor 1.9 lump of an engine. Meaning I cannot do any of these.
I do that 4000 rpm revving and dumping the clutch quite often thankfully nothing happened till now maybe its good time to stop doing that now😂
Nice stereo mate. Got the exact same one.
Going right up to the rev limiter.
I like your radio. How it changes colour 😍
can you release clutch fast once u downshift ? if like you go from 3>2 you clutch in 2 then u rev at like 3-4k and release clutch fast would it jerk or ?
Release fast, if you've rev matched correctly it should not jerk.
As long as the revs are matching then yes a quick smooth release of the clutch will be great, should be smooth as butter.
Yesterday it snowed so I just had keep my Mitsubishi pickup in 2wd and do some big drifts in the sixth form car park because I need to show off that I am the only sixth form student with a truck with a 2.5litre turbo diesel
Lmaoo. My dad always wiggles the stick at stop lights and stop signs
Whoa whoa whoa. Where'd you get them sunglasses?
where did you get that sticker
"Everyone" has a manual in Sweden, doing all this would be tiresome on your daily commute to and from work in any major city. Newer cars are mostly automatic though but we have mostly old cars here (compared to the other western countries, odd I know).
Don’t rest your hand on the head stick while driving, it will accelerate wear of the shifter linkage/bushing
I've had a car for a month and I've done all of these!
ahha, relate to the tesco car park
ive started with the stick wiggle in the first month ive ever driven and i still dont have a licence(im driving on private property)
Realese the clutch at 3-4000 rpm depending on engine size and you could do a burnout or a power take off been there done it only thing I don't do is wiggle the gear Stick
for 5 min more like 30 seconds 😃👍
big skid
What power you getting out of the ibiza cupra?
I got a 181BHP, 280ft lbm torque... devils fuel 2.0L diesel Leon FR a little over 1200kg curb weight...
If only i could shift gear proper... lol earned a sub regardleds
210bhp right now! Feels great in such a light car
Paynos I bet it does, 40HP less in mine and it feels great, especially since you blow off all those mercs and beamers with less power and more weight haha.
Need to get the ECU tweaked in mine get the BHP to the 200 mark. Wanna see more of yours any way, maybe do a track day :P
If it all falls into plays will DEFFO do track days. Got a few mates to do them with now too!
Was going to get my first car and really wanted a manual. Every manual car owner flaked on me. Ended up getting an automatic because it was a steal for the price. Still dream in manual though.
>Whisper under my breath "autotragic" every time it upshifts when I don't want to
why do you heel toe when not in a corner?
is it just me or does everyone just whipcrack that shifter when going to 4th? the movement starts with your shoulders and the gear changes in a millisecond.
also known as SUPER FAST ULTRA TURBO SHIFT
Love this😂🤣
5:04 i did that to a honda jazz in reverse, probably at about 1500RPM, i was going about 4mph and thought the revs were matched so i just let the clutch up quite fast, and well my face nearly hit the wheel but the car didn't stall (howw?)
at 4mph you would have almost been past the biting point in reverse and this is also the most powerful gear in the car so is actually more forgiving than any other gear which is probably why it didn't stall. If it was diesel then its especially hard to stall.
reverse is between 1st and 2nd, it's quite high tbh, at about 1500RPM it is about 6-7mph. I think i was going maybe 2-3 mph :P
@@MichaelFlatman Its not in my 08 accent.
2:02 i have a spanish friend who does the wheel chirp in.... a Ssangyong Rodius :P
Lol the last one I did the other day I put the clutch down put the gas to the floor then let go of the clutch I now haven’t owned a car for 3 days an I still have to wait another day to get it back rip old clutch
This is my daily commute 😂😂
Pro commute
Great vids, even greater face🤷🏼♀️
Olivia Bird he really does look like harry potter
In City Traffic if your Stopped you should put the Car in Neutral & release the Clutch
I Do👍
To Check the Car is in Neutral i Move the Gearstick Left & Right Slowly Once or Twice.
I never Wiggle the Gearstick.
3:09 lol
Forgot one that no petrolhead likes to admit they do: resting your hand on the shifter, specially when your car doesn't have a arm rest. I'm so fucking guilty of this
In a stoplight, before you go hold the clutch at least press the gas 3 times and then let of the clutch as quick as possible
*engine stops as soon as clutch is fully released*
Oh how I miss driving a manual!!!
revmatching on a downshift is mandatory in my miata.
ok so i just got your channel recommended to me and after watching some videos i gotta say...you look so fucking familliar...do you have any other channels that i might have known you from? i would bet anything that ive seen you already somewhere
Wait i didnt quite catch that, is he saying he s advising me to do all that?
Vlad Octavian you Will never know if it's bad for your car until you try it ;)
Rev matching REDUCES clutch wear
How does the cupra hold up against more newer cars e.g fiesta st ?
Performance wise, brilliantly. In terms of comfort not so much haha, super hard ride and dodgy interior quality. If you don't mind those two things then is a brilliant little hot hatch!
Paynos thanks man. I currently have 1.4 16v looking to trade up next year👍
Also great vid keep up the good work man
Oh dear. I drive a Peugeot 307. Yes it’s the kinda car your aunt drives BUT it’s the 1.6 sport! Nah who am I kidding 😂 still, 110 of the finest French stallions is enough for a screech and a satisfying cloud of tyre smoke behind me. Although I won’t be doing that again cause I can’t afford repairs 😂 and I downshift for everything, it’s actually a habit now. Every corner I go from 5th to 4th to 3rd, use a bit of that engine breaking before wearing out my relatively inexpensive (when compared to a new engine) brake pads. Yeah I gotta stop that too, but like I said it’s habit now 😂 ah well. What’s a first car for eah?
Hey man what engine is in your Seat
1.8t 20v with a KO3s turbo lad
Paynos Damn. Was expecting a 1L or smth. 😃
Definitely shifts, especially with a map 😁
I actually do heel toe on my mom's corsa 😅😅
"what ar u doin with your STICK"
Did I hear you say "at Paynos TV", or "at males TV"? This channel is big muscles!
Got same car as you and my exhaust went today hoping to be back on the road. Trying to watch this to stop me worrying about my car, thank you for keeping me occupied and sane Haha!!
Hope it gets sorted soon!
time to drive at night with some BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP
Personally, I feel attacked😂
Heel toe round Tesco car park every night to impress all them late night shoppers and show how much of a beast I am spinning my wheels round bends my car probably shouldn't go round
you have no idea how much of a racing driver i am in my moms skoda fabia combi greenline 1.2 diesel
How do you chirp 2nd gear?
bounce off the redline in 1st, then do the quickest gear change possible, releasing the clutch like its just set your foot on fire, and then immediately go pedal to the metal on your accelerator, should make your mismatch brand eco tyres do a lil slippity slip
I don’t get the second gear one :/
How would one go about doing a second gear chirp??
Loggest redline first gear, clutch down, second gear, accelerator down for a second then clutch straight up quickly.
people who buy 2.5 turbo volvos etc but never go over 25 mph.
Is it bad that im 19 and do all these every time?
Hey I have the same headunit :D
How about Trying to select a Gear without depressing the Clutch Pedal OW! Noisy and expensive. Do wish they would Fit the semi Auto transmissions as on Some buses These can take a lot of abuse > Trivia Did you know the Worlds biggest selling motor cycle the Honda cub range (from 1958) came with Semi Auto as Standard?
A Habit I Occasional use is changing from 4th to 2nd under engine braking at low Revs on cars and the Same From 5th to 2nd sometimes 1st on Motor cycles on sharp 90 degree corners Have over 40 years experience!
Almost lost my license and car today because I was going 50kmh over the limit thu a long tunnel
or maybe, just maybe, don't drive recklessly.
I love you
Why do you wear your watch on your right wrist ??
- He may be left handed or ambidextrous; or
- He just feels like it.
:)
pretty much everyone in australia has a manual
First thing you should not be doing in this video is resting your hand on your stick🤘🏽
Spaghetti
A rare thing is to wiggle but then have it not wiggle because your in first...
(‘~‘( tf
you cant really heel-toe anymore in modern cars... the brake pedal is like 2 inches in front of the throttle pedal. only if you have abnormally weird feet, you cant properly heel-toe anymore...
Feeling attacked
