this is one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard. its so unbelievably pure and the love julien, lucy, and phoebe have for each other is unlike anything i've witnessed. it's genuinely brought me so much comfort to have been a fan of these three amazing women for the past year and a half. i've met countless friends, coped with my own feelings better, and become more comfortable in my own skin. the admiration i have is indescribable for them, and there is nothing more that i wish to do than say a huge thank you! thank you for filling this past year with so many great memories and music. i went to the boygenius concert closer to the beginning of the tour, on june 21st, 2023, at budweiser stage in toronto. i went with my two sisters and had the most amazing night of my life. i felt so alive, the happiest i've been in a long time. it was a privilege to see the people who inspired me the most, and surrounded by people who shared the love i had. this fanbase, being predominantly queer people, i've been able to accept myself more, as well as find a space where i truly belong with little to no judgment. (because as a young queer woman, i've struggled with it.) i still talk about the 21st like it was yesturday, watching the videos i've filmed and talking about my favourite songs. i think i would go as far as to say it changed me for the better. i can say that discovering this group has made me a happier person. thank you boygenius for an unforgetable 2023
