Wait, this is supposed to be a museum? I always thought this guy was just some obsessive weirdo with an entire room of his house dedicated to Hamilton memorabilia.
Now do the “Hamilton” remake of this with Leslie Odom, Jr. in the role of the Hamilton expert.
If it wasn't for Nostalgia Critic, I wouldn't have found out that this was the first "Got Milk?" commercial and it was directed by Michael Bay before he was infamously known for too much explosions in his movies

After that museum hilariously claimed to possess the actual bullet from the iconic duel between Hamilton and Burr, it was only poetic justice that the museum's employee took that $10,000 bullet by being unable to clearly give the correct answer to that trivia question due to a lack of peanut butter neutralizing milk.
Maybe the commercial didn't inspire Lin-Manuel Miranda to write Hamilton, but, it did inspire a clever parody with Leslie Odom, Jr.
If Michael Bay directed this today, the museum would blow up, the radio would blow up, the sandwich would blow up, the milk carton would blow up, the guy would blow up, the peanut butter jar would blow up, and then a "real" man with rippling muscles who doesn't answer to authority would come in and growl "Aaron Burr" into the phone, before blowing it up, then he'd grab a scantily-clad Megan Fox by the waist and jetpack away. So let's give some credit where it's due for restraint, shall we?

How does one grab a (what I'm guessing is a) half gallon carton of milk and not realize that it feels really light, like it only contains a mouthful of milk in it?

True Story: this commercial is where I learned how Alexander Hamilton died (in my defense, in 1993 I was 11 years old). I clicked SO FAST when I saw this video. This is also the first time I’ve ever hit the “Like” button before I watched the video.

This is in my top 10 favorite commercials from when I was a kid. It's right up there with the Oscar Mayer commercial that taught me the correct spelling for bologna.

I wanna say there's some food science about the way the lipids in the milk bond with the peanut butter...there is a reason it is the beverage that does the best job binding to the peanut butter & unsticking it from the mouth, but I cannot remember what it is.

I am curious why he never looped his finger into the roof of his mouth & pulled out the food like you do with a toddler that took too big a bite. Seems like the easy choice to do that & take the tiny sip of milk, then answer the question.

Every television commercial with a gratuitous shot of someone's mouth chomping down on any food deserves five thousand sins. It's disgusting and puts me off eating anything, thus defeating the purpose of the commercial.

I always preferred the Got Milk commercial with the obnoxious businessman who gets hit by a bus and thinks he's in Heaven... the ending made me laugh every time!

Wouldn’t the real bullet no longer be bullet-shaped due to going into a human body? Or is that only modern-day bullets? 🤔
The ravages of time would probably have deformed it, but lead ball ammunition used in the 1700s would hold its shape pretty well when fired. They weren't soft enough for the human body to affect them.
It would depend entirely on what it was made out of, but I suspect it wouldn't be that round, whether from being fired, hitting Hamilton (especially his bones), or being retrieved.

Said Aaron Burr clearly....maybe but the phone does distort things abit back then, so maybe said Aaron Burr clearly enough for tv equipment may not be audible or clear enough for the phone.

Probably the only reason we, the audience, can tell he's saying Aaron Burr is because we Already Know he's saying Aaron Burr. He isn't speaking clearly at all. Someone on the other end of an old phone wouldn't be able to understand him even a little.

Now if the book which inspired the musical was inspired by this commercial, that would be hilarious.

There is sth I never understood about this: is "Milk" a brand? The commercial seems to have no branding other than "Milk". If Milk is, in fact, not a brand then who commissions a commercial for it?
