The supreme example of initiative is shown to us by our Creator. He
saw what needed to be done. The world was sick with sin and enslaved by
death. The world needed to be rescued. And He did it. Without being asked
or coerced. As a matter of fact, the world didn’t even care about Him, but He
took the initiative to rescue us. Someone has said that grace is giving someone
what they don’t deserve, and mercy is not giving them what they do deserve.
Jesus said that if we show acts of kindness to our enemies and pray for them,
we are acting as true children of our Father in heaven.
But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will
be acting as true children of your Father in heaven.
