I have a service animal. They do not have to be certified as there is no certification for them but they do have to be trained. It's BEYOND FRUSTRATING how easy it is to take fake ones in places. It puts myself and my REAL service animal and other customers at risk of being harmed.
@@cristaldenison3657 Here in Alabama, certain places such as restaurants can REFUSE to allow the dog inside UNLESS it is certified.
LEGALLY they can NOT do that and can be sued by a legit service animal handler.
LEGALLY places can not ask for any paperwork as there isn't any paperwork. LEGALLY they can only ask if your animal is task trained to YOU & what kind of service animal it is fat as psychiatric or medical....... That's ADA law REGARDLESS of what state you're in. If you have a service animal I suggest you look up the laws with ADA so you don't continue getting taken advantage of. Sorry that's happened to you.
This is what makes it so frustrating how easy you can just lie and say yes my dog is task trained and not have to prove anything. It's rather dumb to say the least
