      Brings a tear to my eye! Glad the Beatles were around when I was a kid. Awesome collection! I did make a trip to the Grammy museum a few years back in LA and stood in front of George's Gretch Jet, Ricky 12 string, the blue Fender Strat that was painted with day glo paint on the front, and a few suits for good measure.

    Thanks so much for sharing your collection with us. I bought a ric 12 string years ago and spent 2 hours a day trying to make it feel comfortable in with my cording hand. Never could make it work and sent it back to sweetwater. it broke my heart that it wasn't made for my hands. I',m a strat and jazzmaster and gretch neck kind of guy. The 1.68 inch neck fits my hands very comfortably. I'm old enough to have had the pleasure of seeing the Beatles in their last concert at Candlestick park.

    I own a mess of beautiful guitars, including custom shop Gibson's and Fender's, but that rosewood Tele makes me so envious. Gah, you're so lucky! I also agree with your opinion of the SJ-200. Out of all my acoustic guitars, the SJ-200 is my absolute favorite. I'm constantly grabbing it out of it's case and playing it. I'm truly in love with that guitar. It's the one guitar that I will literally take with me to my grave. I love your collection, by the way. Thank you for sharing it with us.

  • @jeemalsoknownasjimhawkins1294

    Wow, what an excellent collection of Beatles' guitars! 20 years ago, I owned the Rickenbacker 360/12v63. Loved the sound. Hated the neck (if you have average, thick fingers, it does not work well higher than the 5th fret, as you probably know).. So, I gave it away (bad decision, but my friend loves it). Thanks again, and I love your videos! Cheers.

    George didnt just use the Tennessean on "Help", he used it on "A hard days night", "Beatles for sale", and "Rubber soul", and recorded with it much more than the Country gent..

    • @ForeverFabFour
      @ForeverFabFour  Před 7 lety +8

      Thatmaninrio It was used some on the "Help!" recordings but more importantly was used for the "Help!" movie, and live performances during that period of the bands touring. First used live during a Christmas performance at Carnegie hall, it became his main live guitar there after and through the second US tour in 65 until replaced by the Epiphone Casino. I would still argue that the country gent was used more in the studio however. To my knowledge he didn't even acquire the Tennessee Rose until his second Country Gentlemen was destroyed/stolen. Please let me know if you have any evidence otherwise as I love to learn! All the best.

    George Harrison had two Gretsch Country Gentlemen guitars that he purchased. The first was a 1962 Gretsch Country Gent with two twist up mutes, for the bass and treble strings. The second was a 1963 Gretsch Country Gent with two lever effectuated mutes, one for the three bass strings and the second for the 3 treble strings. The 1962 Gent had large knobs (the same knobs as the volume and tone controls). The knob for the bass mutes was uncomfortable to the underside of George's bicept, so he removed the knob. Over the years, many people have erroneously assumed that the 62' only had one mute. The two Country Gents were great guitars.

    Lennon's 325c Rickenbacker was originally created in 1958 for Jazz players who wanted a short scale neck for ease of quick playing. It was NOT a "trainer" guitar as it has always been priced as an expensive model.

      Hi Peter. Thank you for the info on the 325c Rick. I did not know that. I own a Rickenbacker 330/12 fireglo that was made in 2005. It has the toaster pickups. I have been trying to find out how that model from 2005 has the VOS toaster pups. The serial number just tells me the guitar was made in 2005 . Maybe the original purchaser made a special order from Rickenbacker or maybe he/she purchased the guitar and replaced the high gain pups with the toasters. I never found anything on the Rick site to indicate they re-issued that model with VOS pups. Any guesses here? BTW it is an incredible guitar!

    Nice collection! What year is the J-200? I have a 04 Hummingbird and just scored a 95 J-200 and 93 UK AC-30! My J-200 looks just like yours and is awesome!! Thanks for sharing your squad!!
