  • Menstrual stains are a normal part of having a period and don't harm the silicone of your cup or disc at all. So, this is not a necessary step; however, if you don't like your looking used or old, this is one of the easiest ways to remove stains.
    Why do stains happen?
Stains on your menstrual cup are often caused by the presence of hemoglobin in your blood, a protein responsible for its red color. Hemoglobin has a tendency to bind to surfaces, including the silicone material of menstrual products like cups and discs. While washing your cup after each use is recommended to minimize staining, it may not completely eliminate the issue.

If you use natron, stains will be removed in a few minutes in the microwave
