    As I am aging my hair is thin and sparse, frizzy with humidity and the bane of my existence. I wear a lot of hats. I believe that well groomed hair and makeup are the key to looking polished. Unfortunately my hair is most always a thin, limp, mess.

    I have fine medium density hair. The thickness and density has never changed but over the years my hair went from stick straight to wavy. This after I spent years getting perms. 😂
    The beauty of wavy hair is that I can easily alternate. I can go from completely straight to slightly wavy to very wavy without using hot tools. ☺️

    I have coarse hair, I’m in my mid 40’s, going grey, but my hair has ALWAYS been dry, coarse and frizzy. I was born this way. Taming it has been a struggle throughout my life. I’ve recently discovered that oil serums are a game changer. But would you ever consider making a dedicated video for us heavyweight champions??! My hair can use all of the love it can get. 😊

    My hair has always been stupid fine but, now that I’m 55, it’s starting to develop a bit of texture that I have no idea how to work with! The products I used to love (Small Talk, for example), don’t seem to a darn thing for me anymore and, without higher heat, tools do sweet freak all to my hair! 😩🤬

    • @SummerBeautyc
      @SummerBeautyc  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I always say I long for the day when my texture changes but I worry it will just be another hurdle in life lol. Are you feeling like it's more frizzy? Does it just not hold the style well. What do you feel like Small Talk is lacking in performance for what you are wanting?

    • @gfitfitnessstudio
      @gfitfitnessstudio Před 2 měsíci

      @@SummerBeautyc Ooh…great questions!! I used to be able to give myself a great blow out with a hair dryer and round brush and it would last for DAYS! I would use Small Talk on “special occasions” when I wanted some extra OOMF! Now I find my hair is a bit more frizzy, the blow outs look great at first, but lay flat before I leave the room (even with Small Talk) and, without jacking the heat on my tools, curls and waves fall out before I get to the front door. Thank goodness it’s pony tail and sun hat season! 🤪

    I have medium, medium density, medium porosity hair. There is another characteristic of hair that has not been given a name and isnt talked about much but also plays an important role. Silkiness/smoothness vs roughness/textured (different than the texture of waves, curls and coils). When you run your fingers down the strand, apart from feeling the cuticle, it either fools smooth like silk, or slightly rough or gritty. European hair types tend to be more silky, African hair types are more textured, while Asian hair types can have silkiness or texture. In Asia this was the motivation for the development of thermal reconditioning - to smooth that texture out of the hair even for straight hair types. When African hair is blow dried and flat ironed straight it still has some texture to it, whereas European hair becomes very smooth when flat ironed. With thousands of years of evolution and ethnic mixing you can now find these both in all the continental varieties. I have silky hair and I am always envious of the textured (not curls waves or coils) type hairs because they have increased volume that doesn't flatten like silky hair and can break more easily. I have curly hair but it always wants to flatten at my roots. Everything has its pros and cons LOL, the grass is always greener, and as you have just showed us, we can work with them all by using the right products, styling techniques, and hair cuts and styles.

(Thinner on top & front) My hair type is a challenge since most textured hair is apparently thick. I need smoothing & frizz protection but I do have fragile fine hair. I love your channel! You are informative and funny🤓🤣 the best kind that I learn from🤩 Newly subscribed and loving watching your videos❣️ I was born natural blonde, had blonde til age 5-6 yrs then the mousy brown or dirty blonde as we called it….started highlighting late teens ….continue to highlight as I am now 62…the gray is coming!! My hair is naturally curly…dries in corkscrew curls flat on top…I am home most of the time and wear messy bun 90% of the time because I am always hot and can’t stand hair in my face!! Lengthwise I keep around collarbone length so I can get it up and off my face. I have noticed my ponytail thinner and feel like I can see more strands on my head than I used to. I’m wondering if wearing it up is a bad thing? I’ve been told I have fine hair but a lot of it (in all the in between years) it can get frizzy fast if I comb curls…my hair is dry never oily and rarely feels dirty because I don’t put product in my hair daily…grows fast..like 3/4” a month. Should I be putting product in my hair if not going out, not heat styling it? Thank you for sharing all you do🫶🏻🤩😊

    • @SummerBeautyc
      @SummerBeautyc  Před 2 měsíci

      Thank you for sharing! As long as your bun is not tight(pulling the hair from scalp) and you're using a hair tie that's gentle like a silk scrunchie or a bobble tie I think it's s fine to wear it up. If you're not going places, I wouldn't worry about using products for those days. At most, if your hair feels dry you can use a light weight oil to put on the ends. Pravanas Hydra Pearl or even their Polish and Reunite is great. It's a super lightweight product that helps with frizz, split ends and hydration and can be used on wet and dry hair. I actually use that one if my hair feels too dry from when I use texture sprays and it softens it right up without weighing it down. It's one of my holy Grail products for sure. If you're concerned about your scalp, minoxidil is great to help prevent hair loss! You have to use it daily and it takes a bit before it starts working but I've always had success with it! Let me know if you have any other questions!

I’ve had coarse hair my entire life, but it’s become more dry, frizzy and thinner by the crown with age, as well as having my thyroid removed 10 yrs ago. Keratin treatments rarely cause issues. The one time I've seen it be negative is on overly, double processed blonde hair. If it's been years ago I wouldn't think it's a factor to your hair now. Overall for smoothing frizz treatments, I prefer Brazilian Blowouts
