Nothing is wrong for a crewmate to use the vents,I mean they did made it for the air they need to breathe. And it's obviously connected to the O2 room where the air circulates and clean the air for better breathing quality by doing the task of removing the leaves which interrupts that cycle.
Also I commented like this to talk about why the vents was actually made if the game was really based on real life.
