In Bohemia, at the very heart of Europe, south of the Golden City of Prague and guarded by medieval castles, lies a hidden mosaic of lakes and gently flowing rivers, of misty forests and mysterious peat bogs. This important wetland, shaped both by nature and centuries of influence by man, is a magnet for huge flocks of birds and home to an amazing diversity of plant and animal life. In spring there is an explosion of life as the trees are weighed down with nests of cormorants, egrets, herons and storks. With the arrival of winter the landscape becomes silent and desolate. Otters are hunting fish under the ice of frozen lakes while White-tailed Eagles soar over gaps in the ice, targeting fish and birds. Since his early childhood wildlife cinematographer Jiri Petr has spent much of his time in this wildlife paradise. Together with him, we will explore this remarkable habitat and observe the changing faces of nature during the course of one year that inspired many artists and writers alike. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Our ability to invent our most spectacular infrastructure can be used for nature as well. Bohemia is a great example.
I had never heard of the Bohemia Wetlands, therefore thank you so much for showing it. This documentary in one of the most beautiful on CZcams. Enjoyed everything about it, including the narrator's voice.
Sounds like something from the witcher.
@@Luna-oo3fl Witcher=pitcher?
"Care and respect!" Two best words in any language!
One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. I hope that the UN has taken note of this place: it is unique. Partially made by man and partially made by nature. A shining example of what a great partnership this can be.
It is amazing to see my country from this perspective. The narrative was great, tho to anyone who is watching: the names sound completely different if spoken by a native haha Also to anyone wondering, carp is a traditional Christmas dish and if well taken care for, quite delicious - we do not have sea so obviously sea fish are expensive that's why main fish eaten here are freshwater ones and carp is low maintenance, therefore the abundance.
So beautiful.. about time humans understand that we are already living in a heaven and that nature should be respected and that we need to protect it. Thank you for sharing!
That is the right attitude.
There's child rape in heaven?
@@nunliski Sigh.
@@nunliski stfu troll! No one but YOU equated this comment with child rape..ugh.
If only we can transform some of our neglected spaces into a nature paradise. It would be a wonderful world indeed. 💞
Quarantined for almost two weeks now (and counting) at home mostly in my room because of Corona virus, I have watched lots of Documentaries available on CZcams and this one in particular touched my heart, blame it to me as being a nature lover. I never heard of the Bohemia Wetlands before and I truly appreciate and commend the people over there for preserving the place all these years. Special mention to the narrator, Mr. Howard Nightingall, you just made watching this more pleasant to the ears. Thank you guys and God bless us all.
Yes - these guys (the producer(-s) of this series...) KNOW what they're doing - and they're doing a fabulous job of it, as well!

@@lena-mariaglouis-charles7036 Truly magnificent piece! Enjoyed every bit xX

Self-quarantined for 9 months and counting. Nature documentaries help me stay sane. The sounds of the birds and the trees.
I am not having a go at anyone in particular here but I just want to point out that this material is FREE to watch. It is very SAD when people complain about picture/sound quality. If people want to watch high quality video then I suggest paying for a TV package.
as for me, footage, music and accompanying words are very good package together (with content ofc). music is great and picture is quite solid. no reasons to complain...
i dont have cable tv ITS ALL FAKE SHIT. everything i want to know and watch is on you tube.
What if everyone got TV packages? ;)
It wasn't filmed on a potato so I cant complain
First world problems huh?
Four hundred years ago, these ponds and canals must have been dug by hand. It's hard to imagine the number of man hours it must have taken to complete this laborious task that still serves it's purpose well today.
Very nice video and I enjoyed it a lot.
Thanks.
back when men were men
this video is dumb
@@paigehansen6922 as are you!!
I wanted to learn more about my Bohemian ancestry and was amazed at this wonderful video I found. Beautiful in all it's spender and learning the ways of my people that have existed for 400 years is not typical of our earth. Well done and THANK YOU!
The most beautifully shot nature documentary I’ve ever seen. Wonderful soothing narrative voice. Lovely script. Great music.
loved it
Yess.. really good
Yeah, I love his narration too. I hope he can live longer and can still hear him. Old chap.
I agree with You, wholeheartedly!
The best part is that there's MORE where this stuff came from - the producers of these nature documentaries KNOW what they're doing - and they're doing it masterfully!!!

HALLELUYAH! Man only mimics things .Yahua is the actual creator.
Beautiful documentary where wetlands are preserved and humans and nature coexists
Beautifully filmed good narration and perfect music.
Thanks for sharing.
intriguing voice and heavenly scenery . Excellent video.
It's nice to see humans and nature co-existing for a change. I feel like there would be enough in this world for all humans and other creatures, if only we nurtured our environment rather than destroyoing everything in our path.
exactly what i think every day when i go out .....
brilliant engineering
Ultimately, it doesn't really matter what humans do to the Earth because, in the fullness of time, it's recycled. Earth - a biological photocopier of an original lost in time.
god mind LMFAOOOOOOOOO
There is. And its not necessarily that the people in general cant coexist. But the government and big corporations. They take ownership, and/or declare areas sanctuary in order to keep regular people out and from using any resources. And big government and corporations are the ones doing the most destructive acts towards nature. By building, digging, poisoning by spills of oils, chemicals, and scientists/ pharmacists taining our (our and wildlife) water supplies with pharmaceuticals like anti psychotics and birth control etc. If you ask all close to and around you, you will find nearly all with the same thoughts as you and want only to live simply and at peace with our beautiful natural lands and wildlife.
Fantastic photoagraphy and that's an understatement.
Thanks for sharing amazing work and I will recommend this to my students.Lot of love from Kashmir Pakistan
What wildlife do you have in Kashmiri xx
I love this one. It is one of my favorite documentaries. Thank you for sharing this❤

Very beautiful nature
This documentary was a source of learning and enjoyment. Thanks to all who were involved in all stages of its production. Keep up the good work.
Very nice video, informative and detail oriented and enlightening, thumbs up.
Simply amazing Thank you
At a little over 20 minutes in,so far this one meets my approval. No bashing or politics. Just a focus on the wildlife with some interesting History on how the place became what it is.
I have never tasted carp. This was really lovely. Beautiful score too. Harvesting carp looks wet and cold. I'm sure that the community is grateful for the men who accomplish this job so well.
Carp are bottom feeders and in areas where there is industrial pollution, the chemicals settle to the bottom, and the carp ingest those chemicals, and thus should not be eaten.
Wonderful video...thank you to all that worked at it and for sharing with us!
A very relaxing documentary; beautiful nature - wonderfully shot by the crew; awesome narration
Now I want to go to Bohemia EVEN MORE.
First documentary film about nature of czech republic.

In the midst of all our conflicts, it is nice to see that man can live in harmony with the rest of our fellow creatures. This is God's plan, I'm sure.
EXCELLENT
Wonderfully filmed and presented, thank you for uploading.
WONDERFUL!!!!!
self explanatory and beautiful photography
Wonderful presentation, thank you!!!
This was great, thank you.
Fantastic video. Miraculous.
incredible video
i fully enjoyed this video. i appreciate how both man and nature live in harmony. and the narrator said it right in the end, as long as greed is kept in check, this wetland will continue to thrive for hundreds of years more.
Just gorgeous, beautifully filmed. A fine example of man and nature in balance, without corporate greed. Not like South America, may the greedy get an extra helping of punishment there!
Happy Nancy :D not like f****d USA, wich is a pain in natures ass
Thank you. Excellent documentary. I didn't know about these artificial wetlands.

I loved this! So enjoyable. Thank you!
Amazing how they can drain such huge ponds.
Great informative show of nature
Would never have believed carp good to eat but it's all about the quality of the water. Clean water good clean white flaky flesh. I was surprised!
I don't care how clean the water is, but they are very bony and a bottom-feeder.
@Adam Lolno They are all bottom feeders, so you like to eat fish which eat crap.
@@roberttrail7013 Uhuh...and so does every plant in this world...those get eaten by the Animals which in turn get eaten by humans...We all eat SHIT so get over yourself

27:39 The Great Crested Grebe chick must have had the shock of his life when his parent dived under. Imagine sleeping snugly in your quilt only to be thrown in a bathtub filled with chilled water. 'Life raft becomes a submarine again'.. indeed. Good narration.
