Yes, you are right. It makes me not thinking of how equal is cooling of the disk by hub, how it resist stretching and deformation when it is heated, and offroad impact resistance. So i prefer the disk to be equally bolted.

Great video! I have one question. I don't understand how exactly you alter the TrailTech harness based on the schematic at 0:53 and then the picture of the TrailTech wiring harness soldered to what I assume is the manufacturer's harness at 0:56. How exactly do you execute the schematic on 0:53? Does it involve clipping/soldering the black to the green wire on the harness that has the bulbs attached, or are you doing this in the second picture at 0:56, in which case, I don't see where this modification is being displayed. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Hello Mark, I did not want to make changes to the bike wiring. So, all changes were done by harnesses that were plugged in stock connectors. To do so, I disconnected one of black wires, as you mentioned. Then, the disconnected wire was soldered to green pair, which is my GND wire. I’ve made additional harness to connect between Trail Tech connector and the bike connector. Hope, it helps you. Alexei
With your wiring scheme, did you have an issue with the neutral bulb staying lit N and every higher gear than first? I followed your spec and my neutral light is only off in first gear and stays lit through the up shifting.

The Suzuki DR650 has mechanical speedometer and basic indicators. I got this kit new for half price. This kit is based on universal digital speedometer with peripheral parts for my bike. You can check on this gauge manufacturer site if they have kit for your bike.
Thank you. I am not sure about DRZ400. I think it is different. As for me, I disconnected this additional wiring and left only gauge it self sensors- speed,RPM and temperature. Didn’t like this additional panel.

You can buy it from Trailtech. I bought all this kit from someone, who ordered all parts and sold DR before assemble. I think, he ordered directly from Trailtech.
RPM sensor installation is very easy. The sensor is just a wire acts like antenna. So, all you need is to wrap it around one of plug wires for 5-10 wraps and secure the wire with two cable ties to this wire. The place on wire doesn’t matter for functionality, but I moved mine more close to frame. So, the water after water crossing not effect reading. Good luck.
After couple of months, I rolled back to regular dash. So. All wiring part you can skip. So, as for me, all you need is speedometer it self and two or three sensors. Two: wheel speed sensor and engine rpm. And the third one is temperature which you can decide if you need it. The wheel sensor depends on which you have. Today they supply the one that is glued to front shock leg and that is easy. The engine rpm is also easy but requires tank disassemble. Temperature sensor cable was too short for DR in my case and I was not ready to assemble it under plug. So I extended the wire and connected it with extra nut to head connection bolt behind the cylinder between its nut and the new one. So, if you take it to a shop and it will be their first speedo, I think it can take them 2-3 hours. But without dash lights it should be easy for you yourself do it. And it will take you more time but much more fun 😁
G'day mate, do you have led indicators on your bike? I would like to copy what you have done but I don't know if I need a relay or resistors because I have LED's on my bike
Robert Hudson Hello, I run stock not LED indicators. This setup doesn’t damage stock wiring. You can prepare the harness like mine and check it easily and roll everything back, if something wrong. Also, if I am not mistaken, currently your blinker indicator shouldn’t work properly and my solution can fix this because separate led/lamp for each side. But electronic relay should be used anyway.
Hey i have klx 150 If I follow this method will it work? I'm very interested with the Speedometer This will be cool right? changed from conventional to digital
OPAL yezzz I am not familiar with KLX 150. So, for speed sensor I believe it should be the same. RPM sensor should also be not different. Dashboard lamps you should check with electric schematics of your motorcycle.
I don’t understand the first question. What do you mean by “back-lit”? For the second question: Yes, I do like the Vapor, but not so sure about the signal lamps.
@@kentuckyjustice1408 Well ??? I got both of mine for free with the purchase of a bike? Had I not receive them with the bike I would not have bought one if my factory Speedo was working fine. But ... having used the Voyager (with the GPS) and the Vapor, I like them. The digital readout is easy to read, day and night, I hardly ever look at the stock Speedo anymore, and knowing what the engine temp is doing is handy, even the digital clock and temp read out are handy and I use them a lot. I would say YES, for the money they are nice and provide a lot of information at a glance. Yes you can hook up all the features on the Vapor or Voyager to your bike in about 3-4 hours. Personally I like the Voyager for a bit extra money for the GPS feature. You don't have to run the sensor to the front wheel and having the easy option to add your starting waypoint is nice because it will leave bread crumbs to get you back. I enter Lat & Lon to places from Google earth that I want to go or mark a spot if I want to come back to it later. There is no data base and it is not gamin like in ease of use. But for me a 60 year old guy I figured it out good enough to get home or find something. I hope that helped.
Do you mean internal battery of the dashboard or main motorcycle battery? I replaced internal battery approximately once a year. No issues with main. The dashboard battery needed small support from piece of sponge between battery and cover. Known issue of this dashboard
Not really understanding your question. RPM sensor is just a wire. You just make defined in manual number of loops and secure the wire with zip ties. Only plug for RPM is to Vapor.

No. Only for neutral.
May be you did not disconnect the black wires and the neutral bulb gets ground from other place.

No. It is not included in Trailtech functionality.
