I wish I had this set. So much stuff you could add into a bigger layout, simplistic but fun, and really makes ya nostalgic for good ol Thomas sets. This was a cool video

Ha ha, this made me chuckle quite a bit! I appreciated the dry delivery of the humor and the sarcastic remarks in general.
I will say the TOMY one is quite good. But I slightly prefer the Trackmaster one, as it came with Jeremy and his hangar, making it feel more like an airport. Rather than the TOMY one being all like, "Quick, gotta add all the important bits from the film in this one set so it can be tied in with the movie!"
Nonetheless, its eons better than what Mattel has produced for the Trackmaster line for the past near-decade. even TOMY has been slacking a bit in their Plarail line with the CGI redesigns either being a hit or miss.

Honestly the first set is actually not bad
It’s not very gimmicky , it just goes up and then down and drops off cargo, very simple set that doesn’t have a million things going on
Like those “action packed sets” like the dragon set
Only problems I see is how Annie and clarebel are tiny and have less detail than the good coaches

I don’t mean to be rude guys but the Thomas and friends movie calling all engines came out in 2004 not 2005 but the Thomas and friends movie the great discovery came out in 2007 not 2008
I know this video is old but I will agree, there use to be good Thomas sets and Tomy was the king of it all but then Mattel stepped in and completely fucked up everything with their take on trackmaster by making the designs far worse with them being either bulky, squashed up or disproportionate, and unrealistic and inaccurate, on top of that the rolling stock and even the coaches got shortened (granted the 2020 motorized range fixed the squashed up coaches slightly but still not as good but slightly better, Tomy did the coaches better) and the sets themselves weren't much better either since most of them are gimmicky and unrealistic and don't fit in the Thomas franchise & more or less work well better with Cars or Hot Wheels. But yeah, otherwise though this set is good and I wish we had something this amazing like we use to. But oh well, the legacy lives on, good review though.
