How to start any run with 250k gold in Noita (early access)

- Being a Noita can be expensive - the prices of wands, spells and, especially, perk re-rolls add up very quickly. Sometimes alchemy isn't the best option, so what then? Well, there are actually hidden caches of gold in the world. Here's one of them that you can access immediately in the beginning of the game. You only need some chaotic polymorphine.

What's a 20 minutes to start off a run with 250k? Because u can still get Noited in two minutes into the cave. One time, the pellet gun dude shot at me and missed but hit chaotic morph flask and little purple squishy next to it turned into the thunder wizard and exploded into nothing!
That's the beauty of this game. You can spend hours playing it and building up a very powerful run and then "whoops, you're dead" immediately from something horrible/horribly funny. That's why we love it, right?
@@FuryForged No, getting gimped just makes me want to savescum. It's getting to the point where I might start actually doing it, at least to avoid losing perfectly good runs to ground pixels I can't see and feel I have no control over. I don't want to spend tedious time doing threat disassembly and busywork to die because I hooked my noita's bumpbox with some free floating ground bits, and lost all my air above lava, or a liquid with some randomly generated thunderstone in some god forsaken wet hole I had no way of anticipating two screens down.

@@shoopoop21/videos I started savescumming the last time i played and i enjoyed the game much more this way. I liked those accidental funny deaths the first few runs, but after some time it became annoying to me and i just wanted to see what's further in the game instead of going through the coal mines for god knows which time. I wish there was an official option to save/load.
So i recommend to savescum, it might make the game more enjoyable for you.

Pretty sure he's referring to the means of getting to said gold biome and not the gold biome itself. Summarizing what RedMatter stated in his comment, there's no good reason to patch this for a variety of reasons but the number one thing being the time investment, which you won't do every run.

It’s more than likely used for testing rather than to actually be found. They anticipated someone would, but they’ll probably move it now that it’s common knowledge.

It wasn't patched out, but it is slightly harder to get to now. Since your flight energy is not reset when you polymorph anymore, you need to use something else. I just did it with levitatium, although you could probably use acceleritium as well. Other then that, no changes. Go halfway up, get in with the worm polymorph, collect your reward, and get out.
edit: Your flight energy actually IS reset when you polymorph, but only when you're turning back into a human. It is still incredibly hard to do it with polymorph, so I still recommend the levitatium method.
Hi, I know this is an old comment but you actually have separate levitation energy bars for both your polymorphic and normal state. For example, if you use half your levitation energy, then polymorph, you'll have a new full bar of levitation energy to use, but upon reverting to your normal state you'll still have only half a bar of levitation energy

3 years later and the Gold Room still exist :)
I'm not terribly convinced this will be patched to make this too much more difficult to acquire than it already is; it already requires specific and obscure knowledge along with some mastery, some luck and a fairly significant time investment and whilst I can't speak for any particular shade of Noita players, I can't imagine too many people would judge that time investment for something which doesn't immediately increase the fitness of their run as worthwhile compared to the risk of sudden and unavoidable death that may lurk around every corner rendering it useless. I'd like to know more about the purpose of or thought behind this square though, if there is any.
As some other things in this game, I will guess that it's an Dev tool that is only there because of the early access. For example, I will guess that The Works (Hell and Heaven) are only procedural generation test, in the case the player wants to keep farming before a boss battle, and is not a Biome that the player is intended to visit right now. Also, I will guess that some of the really hidden and unnexplainable things (like, this gold square) are there just to see if the players can found them, and to see how they react to them.

"The Gold" is there for a reason. If a player is doing so much job at the very start of his game, I think he deserves that much of gold.
yes! I would never do this trick. I mean, I found the vertical wall in an pure exploration run. Tried to climb it multiple times.

these are the "secret" areas mentioned in the patch notes, if anything, they'll make it harder to find again. there should be another gold vault cube thing on the other side of the world too.
Yeah, you're not even going to need a fraction of it unless you're planning on going for a massive exploration run where you get an op wand.

The game itself is immensely vast and immensely enjoyable, but it is tough work, watching these videos brings me the same amount of enjoyment.
I love how much you learn about the game in these videos that aren't in the title. For example, the few times I ever polymorphed into a worm I had no idea how to control the damn thing. Also the permanent polymorph effect is fascinating. Keep up the great work, I've been trying to update the wiki with relevant information from these videos whenever I can.

"Extremely easy" If you consider spending 15 - 20 minutes of time just getting all that gold and getting back to start your run. I think this is more a secret and fun easter egg rather than something to spend time of your life on.
To be fair, "time consuming" isn't the same thing as "hard." It's more a question of whether or not this is practical.

Polymorphing before triggering the work?
you can't use your items polymorphed, so you can't if you're stuck. The only way would be really quickly splashing yourself after the final action, but that wouldn't have anything to do with being stuck, if so.

@@deathblazer0 No, the conversation was about a person who is "stuck" in polymorph permanently, not about simply polymorphing yourself normally. If you're stuck in polymorph, you can't ever even fight the boss at all, let alone complete the work.
This gold area has been there since the start so I don't think it'll get patched but thanks a lot for figuring out the fastest route to get to it.
And then you start your run. Walk right into a slime mother that covers you in toxic sludge. Now your panicking because you emptied your water flask to get the polymorphing, so you have no way to wash yourself off. You desperately run away trying to find water when you turn the corner to see a fire mage that blasts you with a fireball at point blank and causes a nearby oil barrel to explode that rockets you back into the slime mother room. Your on fire now. The entire floor is covered in oil and toxic sludge, the air is filled with acid gas that is starting to catch fire, your out of levitation fuel and a pack of Spidey Hamis are pummeling you while fire mage winds up his next fireball and slime mother spawns in a pack of toxic slimes. The walls start to close in around you and everything fades to black. If only... if only you made it to the first portal room.
If you're using this method, you probably don't have to go halfway up the wall. You can just find a point to stand with your pool of chaotic poly, and then just dig up and to the right. Boom done! However, this may not get patched because it's gonna take you 30 minutes EVERY RUN to do this, that's all before health upgrades and other goodies.
I tell people to go half-way just to get a good idea about where the gold room is. It's relatively small and can be easy to miss when you're zooming around as a worm, since you won't be able to see it at all unless you break into the room. It'll just be darkness until then. But, yeah, if you already have a good idea about where it is then you can access it from lower or even underneath, from the previous ceiling.
I've never explored eastward so every second of that little stroll you took blew my fucking mind and made odd noises come out of my face...I wanna subscribe a 2nd time
fun fact: there's a second gold below the lava lake (in the area under the normal lake), and a water that's accessed from the desert chasm
I never thought of using chaotic polymorphine to do this, I've seen people use lighsaber wands and go through the ceiling of the ??? camera, which takes much longer

The best way to obtain gold biome is to use black holes (about 6) with projectile repeling perk which speed up black hole something like 5 times.
"chaotic polymorphine" has to be the most used phrase on this channel
I haven't even beaten the game yet and just out of curiosity I climbed all the way up here manually by flying and tucking in the little crevices. Little did I know if I brought some poly I could have been in gold city

So big thing: If you're going to use Polymorphine to get there you should just go straight up to said wall. Or a telewand if you have it rather then take the extra time to find the side wall, and then follow along the top.
It isn't really useful though if you fully explore floors, you'll have more then enough gold for anything you need provided you get the gold enemies drop and even if you need more... you have Polymorphine which in turn means you can get in/out of said Holy Mountain.
Unless you're perk re-rolling.
The only real time this helps is if you aim for going straight down... but that is how you miss health ups and upgrades. A catch 22 in that sense.
It is nice... but not worth it in the sense of effort or patching.

I'm not worried about the flight issue. If you find the right tools in the mine, it's worth going back out to this to get to the gold, as it will quickly let you increase the odds of success in a run.
Meanwhile, my noob ass who usually dies less than a half-hour into a run...
I recommend starting runs with the earth essence and then take it to essence eater, then with the tannerkivi climb the tree for the pahasilmä, and then you can dig through EDR, Cursed rock, literally everything. Just make sure you have the patience to do this since its quite boring. Also you can start a run with the chaingun with this setup, though it took me straight 20-30mins of digging.
Tip: If you are flying with polymorphine its faster to hold the jump button than to tap it
They actually made this easier by making chaoitic polymorphine a possible starting potion. :P

I've played a lot of games where I was able to get ahead in the game by doing some special techniques. Learning that this game has a technique that can get you quite far ahead intrigues my interest in this game. I'll wait a couple of months at least to see if this company decides to do what you think they'll do by patching the game.
They’ve already made it slightly more difficult to access this by removing the ability to fly longer using the polymorphine liquid. That’s the extent of the patching I think they’ll do to this particular thing.

You can now just use Tannerkivi and evil eye to get the gold room at the start of a run.
I always do this when I can and inevitably burn through it rerolling perks.

I doubt they'll patch that out. 20-30 minutes is longer than a lot of runs and requires a bit of setup.
I finally managed to get to the gold room today by using acceleratium and 10 black holes. Money bags here we come!
Edit: Okay nevermind. I went back to the holy mountain to reroll perks, threw down some acceleratium to fly back through the exit, and found to my chagrin that throwing acceleratium on slime creates gun powder... and will definitely blow you up....
Maybe that's enough Noita for today.

Is it possible to control where you end up with teleportatium or was it a fluke that you went in the direction you wanted?
There is. You will teleport in the direction of your cursor. It's not an "exact" science, since there's still some randomization depending on the worldgen - meaning that you can teleport *down* if you want to go down, but you might teleport into a vat of acid or some lava. There are, however, ways to sort-of pull off a more consistent teleport. Which relies on moving in the direction you want to teleport and flicking the mouse in that direction just after spraying teleportatium on yourself.
The gold being there makes me think they know this is possible.
Of course. When I said they might patch this I only meant that they might change it/make it more difficult to access - which they actually did soon after this video. They made it so that you can no longer fly longer using Polymorphine.

i have an incredible amount of difficulty trying to climb across the roof i did it my first try flawlessly before i even knew anything was there to find. Any tips on how to scale the ceiling or where/when to pour polymorph when i am going along the roof?
They did change the generation so that it's much more difficult to make your way along the ceiling now. Instead, I bring a flask of chaotic poly and I spray that at the top-right of the ??? area (essence area) and then poly into a worm and diagonally up and left into the gold room. It's not as easy at first to find the gold room, but once you know exactly where it is, it's no problem.
Now pair it with a good Lively Concoction seed and it will be smooth sailing.

You mean the glyphs that are up there? I'm slowly working on a video covering all of the other glyphs hidden all around the world but that's the type of video that will take awhile to make. I've been working on a save that should allow me to do everything I need to do soon.

Maybe I'm an idiot but I cannot "fly" using the chaotic plymorph potion. I manage to fly as you do in the video but my character keeps falling down after a certain amount of time. I cannot believe I'm asking this but: how do I jump like you do?
It’s been patched ;) You can no longer fly longer using polymorphine. Now, it’s easiest to access the gold room from below, using the chaotic polymorphine at the top of the ??? area and then quickly angling up and to the left when you transform into a worm.
I'm rather curious about Chaotic Polymorphine. If you end up permanently changed to your new form, that could be an insane blessing, in a way, depending on the form you get. Which, now I'm curious... Can you gain Max Health increases and healing while permanently Polymorphed?
Unfortunately you can't interact with anything when polymorphed, so you wouldn't be able to finish the game in any way. You can just have fun in your new form for a bit and then suicide or start a new game when you get bored. Maybe eventually they'll end up doing something with it though, and allow us to actually complete the game in another form. That would be pretty cool.
@@FuryForged I very much agree. However, with how the Lore seems so far about who the Player is, it doesn't seem like it'd make much sense. If nothing, maybe it'd actually make more sense to be unable to finish the game in a Polymorphed form.

If that does happen then you just have to make sure you have some more CP for the exit trip.

Noita: Stay down. Final warning.
So, there is actually another way to enter it without Polymorphine. If you don't want to do the essence quest or just want to also have the Earth Stone early.
First, go get the Evil Eye. You can do this by using Levatanium over the tree, or going full trip using the Desert Skull Portal.
Cross back across the tree, and go to the Right wall, into "???", the location of the Essence of Earth. Sacrifice the Essence to the Essence Eater, and take the Earth Stone. It will transform any solids, into Soil. You may get what i'm going with this.
Burrow into the EDR with the Evil eye, after transforming it into Soil. Then continue as your guide says. It's easy and simple to do. Just be sure not to Kick whilst you have the Earth stone on hand, as you can turn any solid rock into Collapsed Concrete. Sometimes losing out on some Gold. The earth stone can also turn Gold into Soil, so be careful about that too. Be sure to unequip it and just collect. or even throw it into your tunnel so its far away from the gold.
just started playing a few days ago, i found a digging spell (threw it on the starting bomb wand) and a black hole spell, i went back up to level 1 looking for gold veins and then under the tree around its roots into the (soft butter like) snow and found the eye thing, i threw it after 3 seconds and it flipped around and killed me instantly XD
20 hours so far and only made it to the snow level, i get greedy and try to farm 2k~ 3k~ gold with < 10hp
Ok so Im trying this but noticing that a lot of the creatures you can polymorph into arent really explicit in if they can fly or not, and in a lot of cases they seem to not be able to for very long. How is it that with certain creatures in the video you seem to be able to fly infinitely? Have they changed the polymechanics?
They patched polymorph-flying right after this video ;) You can't fly longer with any polymorph forms anymore. Now, the best way to get to this gold is to spray the polymorphine in the top-right of the ??? area and wedge yourself in there to eventually turn into a worm and then turn and dig to the upper-left as soon as you turn into a worm.
Haha, I was actually trying just that but morphed into a fish and died of fall damage.

Patched as in: made more difficult to obtain, not completely taken out. It’s very easy to get.

Yup, but those were added looooong after I made this video, so that's why they aren't here.

How even did this get discovered
It was actually found the first week the game was out with black holes, matter eater and worm polymorphs + spending hours just exploring literally everywhere. There's another one down at the bottom of the world too. The entire world has been mapped out for awhile now - literally everywhere - even underneath all of the extremely dense rock and lava.

@@therealdoc I wasn't around at release, but I would be very surprised if modding wasn't involved. If you've got a bit of know-how I don't think it would be very difficult to edit the starter wand to always cast black hole.

How did you control where you teleported to?
It's not *exact* but you can control it fairly accurately by just moving your mouse cursor where you would like to teleport to. You'll teleport in the direction of your cursor.

You need Chaotic Polymorphine to get through the wall as a worm. Either way, they DID patch this right after this video and polymorphing doesn’t extend the amount of time you can fly anymore. Polymorph forms share the same levitation energy pool as your character now. So, the only way to cross that part is to have a teleport wand or to wedge yourself into the rocks.

Feels like if you want to waste your time doing this, it means you are already an experienced player. Doesn't really worth a patch IMHO.

The gold room is still there, but you can't fly infinitely using polymorphine anymore, so it's a tiny bit harder to get to.

It's still there, you just can't fly as easily with polymorphine anymore, so it's best to try to get to it from below.
