Everyone’s gotta eat, even those who happen to find themselves behind bars. Hopefully, no one watching this has any experience with the meals served up in prison because, let's be honest, the subpar grub dished out by your local prison is anything but five-star dining. With that said, here’s a look at 100 years of prison food. If you enjoyed this video. Comment: #prisonfood #prison #babbletop

That 1920 Sing Sing lunch looks so much better than the average school lunch
No, we don't get food better today. We survive off comasarry .
Oh man i forgot the crazy history of sing sing and its still blows my mind thats what my hometown is so well known for.
@majorasecho Hometown pride! Anything else about your town's history or landmarks that you find fascinating or surprising?
“Hoping anyone watching this doesn’t have any experience with the food being served in prison.” (I die inside, I’ve done 4 stints and finished my last one in July of last year, been out ever since and hoping it’s my last)
The food does suck but if you have commissary and a smart mind you can whip up some very creative snacks.
Great video.

First time I've ever heard the Civil Rights Movement be called "unrest"...
@notorioustori Right? "Unrest" seems like an interesting choice of words for the Civil Rights Movement.
21:44 lol chickaronise
And yet it’s probably all better than school lunch
Lolol not completely at least not from my era
@strawbunni. True that! School lunch memories, huh? What was the weirdest or worst thing you ever had on your cafeteria tray?
Maybe people turn their lives around and find their true passion. I know I'm not perfect. I'm a dental assistant and I think I hate it. Cooking is my passion! I did 30 days in county years ago, trust me. Jail and prison are two different animals. Never graduate to either.
@Blitzkrieg1976 Absolutely! Finding your true passion is key.
Wow! That's a long time to be in prison.
I once heard for a meal they spend 50c per prisoner and 2$ per guard dog
Why does there seem to be no difference between prison and lunch food?
Ssshhhh.
In the documentary super size me show that a place get schools and prison food from the same supplier.
@@ytsucksrightnowthat guy was a drunken scam, lol.
Because government be government-ing. Lol
@92JazzQueen Interesting observation! What specific similarities or qualities do you notice between prison and lunch food that make them seem alike?
Damn Americans were well caffinated back in the 1920s I only have one cup of coffee a day so that I can actually sleep
@RizPlaysYTgaming Interesting! Do you ever find yourself tempted to join the ranks of those well-caffeinated Americans from the 1920s, or are you content with your one cup routine?
@BabbleTop one cup so I can sleep
You mean they don't just served bread and water?
@Koleyl Haha, definitely not just bread and water! What's the craziest or most unexpected thing you've ever seen served at a restaurant?
@@BabbleTop The oddest thing I've seen served was fried octopus tentacles at this one sports theme restaurant and the surprising thing about is that I actually enjoyed it. If course anything deep fried is always enjoyable
