V rámci oslav Roku české hudby 2024 proběhla 8. března v Národním divadle premiéra opery Rusalka skladatele Antonína Dvořáka. Jedná se o již o patnácté nastudování. Na repertoáru Národního divadla je Rusalka nepřetržitě od zdejší světové premiéry v roce 1901. Jaroslav Kvapil se při psaní libreta inspiroval řadou pohádkových motivů a legend. Jeden z nejvýraznějších vlivů je připisován Andersenově Malé mořské víle a Erbenovým baladám z Kytice. Připravil tak pro Dvořáka základ, z něhož mohl mistr melodií a instrumentační barevnosti vykouzlit svoji bezesporu nejlepší operu, v českém prostředí svou oblibou srovnatelnou snad pouze se Smetanovou Prodanou nevěstou.

As part of the Year of Czech Music 2024 celebrations, the premiere of Antonín Dvořák's opera Rusalka took place on 8 March at the National Theatre. This is the fifteenth production. How did the director duo SKUTR deal with the theme of the water fairy, what does conductor Tomáš Netopil see as the beauty of Rusalka and what were the soloists of the National Theatre Opera and SO most looking forward to? Rusalka has been in the repertoire of the National Theatre continuously since its world premiere in 1901. Jaroslav Kvapil was inspired by a number of fairy tale motifs and legends when writing the libretto. One of the most significant influences is attributed to Andersen's The Little Mermaid and Erben's ballads from the Bouquet. He thus prepared a basis for Dvořák from which the master of melody and instrumental colour could conjure up his undoubtedly best opera, in the Czech environment comparable in popularity perhaps only to Smetana's The Bartered Bride.
