  • K24 GE Fit Gets Tuned With Hondata
By Brian Gillespie and Aaron Gaghagen
We built our version of what we thought a Honda Fit Si should be. Since we're a bit extra we used a K24Z7 from a TSX instead of a K20 which Honda was rumored to have been toying with putting in to battle with the Fiesta ST. But Ford killed the Fiesta and Honda scrapped the idea, allegedly. Then we sold our GE Fit (Jazz for those abroad.) and that was that. We hoped to get a chance to develop the Fit more in the future if the new owner was down, but nothing was set in stone. Well, the new owner decided to get a Hondata and let us tune it even more! The plan is to hit the dyno, make more power and see how that improves performance.

2nd Gen TSX (K24Z3) and 9th gen Si (K24Z7) cams and VTC gears are the same. Motors are almost identical besides from knock sensors and timing covers. Both cars should have 50 degree VTC. I run all the Si cam angles in my 6spd CU2 with no issues. If you have a Z7 it maybe a CRV motor. K24A2/K20Z3 cams will work in the single port heads using the R40 exhaust gear and RBC intake gear if you want to keep it OEM. I have "AFM enabled" and "Use MAP Tables" on my personal car along with "MAP to determine WOT" and have intake air system leak disabled but I also live in a non-echeck state.

      To add to this.
      K24z2,z3(cp3) 2008-2012 accord, and z7(crv) all use 14310-R5A-305 vtc
K24z7 (civic si) and k24z3 tsx/accord euro use the same vtc
      14310-R40-A02.

On the k24z3/z7 the maf still needs to be plugged in even if you use map tuning via flashpro. It doesnt need to be in the intake but still plugged in.
    My sugestions for better power.
    1. Radiator heatsheild to help with heat soak of the intake manifold.
    2. 3in cold air/short ram intake minimal, I'm using a 3in/3.5in custom cai myself and the car has great low/mid/top end power.
Def get a downpipe/header on there it will def open up power and let you get more out of vtc tuning.
    3. Either port the stock intake manifold runners or swap intakemanifold for rbc, rrc, rsp (have the rsp on my k24z3 and The motor makes smooth power throught the rpm band even with the auto 5speed trans)
Stock is good for tq but if you want to make good power to 7800+rpm ditch it. With the car as light as it is it really depends on where you want the power. K24z3 is a good motor for power when setup right.
Thats my input from messing with the z3 motors. Your results may varry lol. I live in Nevada i know how the heat kills power😂 once winter comes that fit will fly.
Oh also if you can run an si ecu instead of the tsx you can set up a flex fuelkit. 2g tsx ecu doesn't have that option. The 07-08 tsx flashable ecu does but depending on smog, the si ecu might be your better bet.
You can run an e40 fuel blend though. I run that in the summer, ect is cooler and knock is waaay less vs 91 when it's 110+ outside. 😂

First time I dynoed my k24a in my ep3 vtec would not engage and the cam angle degree would not hold. I was using my ep3 spool valve assembly on the back and the tsx vtec solenoid on the passenger side of the engine. I then used my ep3 solenoid for the passenger side and a tsx spool valve assembly on the back and it holds cam angle and cracks vtec.
My engine was also making just over 170hp and knocking like you before I switched those parts and after fixing it it made 209whp

Mods I use for my k24z7 that makes 230whp
Ported RBC, j35 port matched, grams 750cc injectors, CNT catless downpipe, stage 1 exedy clutch with 10lb flywheel. Custom 3in intake where my IAT stay below 90F

I just bought an '07 Fit Sport with JDM K24A luckily not the crv one. Has your mounts, 8th gen si 6spd with carbon syncros & rsx type-s 6th gear, it's allot more freeway friendly than the si 6th gear.

Hey guys when you guys gonna have a real challenge by doing a H22 into a EM2 civic, people had said it's impossible to do do,but I think it's easier than a kseries

    • @VTECAcademy
      @VTECAcademy  Před měsícem

H22s are more expensive, slower and are too old for the EM2. Also, you can’t make 500hp on a stock block with a turbo.
