“The One” it’s sort of refreshing to hear a woman use that term. A long time ago I asked God how do I fix the damage I caused to the relationships between my parents and I, because the woman I was with -she was my cocaine (to quote Tori a bit). I cut people out of my life for her. I tried on her opinions and her dreams. About 3 months go by after the prayer, and she breaks up with me. I was devastated at the time, yet relieved to have hit rock bottom. (I learned indirectly that there was another guy). Anyway, here’s asking that you’ll be blessed.
So sorry you had that happen to you! 😔 And rock bottom, as hard as it may be, is always a solid place to build a new foundation upon (as it sounds like you've learned). As for The One, yeah, I have always been a hopeless romantic, so while I think there are many great matches, I want to believe in my heart of hearts there's one person tailor made just for me. Sorry that he did that to you -- thank yourself that you're not me who when I got my heart broke, the person literally drove to the next guys house immediately after ending things with me.
