its a dreamer
That is in excellent shape for a 74 and up Blazer. I'm in OH. It would be a fiberglass cap 8 pieces of glass and some wagon wheels here. Very cool project. Dad had a 78 on 35s and the same white wagon wheels. Drove from OH to California in 81 on summer vacation. One of my best memories. Had family out there back then.
The more I work on this the more I like it and kinda want one for myself.
@@Burndown they are cool/fun. Also had a couple of close friends who had them in the 90s. We had a blast with them.
Really looking forward to seeing this build progress.
Im thinking one video a week in a longer format and see how you guys like it. Let me know as we go if you like the longer format or not.
That's in much better shape than what I started with!
Im happy with what it is. I feel like I know what I signed up for and it seems pretty straight forward.
What a gem
She's defiantly a unit!
Awesome rig!!!! I hate living in New England, that thing would be a pile of rust lol. I’m excited about this build man
Thank you for following along! Im excited for this one too. I have never done a square body so its new to me.
Looking forward to this Jimmy getting done.
Just hope you're going to keep the Jimmy and Siesta badges on it.
Loving the colour also.
Cheers.
I would like to keep it a stock as I can. Badges and all. Thinking stock size tires and dog dish hub caps or whatever it came with will go back on it as well.
🐶 I'm looking forward to this too 👍
Heck yeah. I will drop the first video on it next week!
I love it. I'd be keeping all that patina lol. The Vintage air kit for those are really great kits. That's what I used on my c10 and I have no complaints. Also that rear end looked like a GM 12 bolt.
Nice. Its getting finished inside and out. Will be a nice driver when she's done. I have a few things im going to change up but all and all it will look like a stock rig.
I’ve been Looking forward to this build since you mentioned it. I’ve done a 77 2wd and currently doing an 89 4x4. I’ve also had several of these square body pickups. The whole time you were walking us through it I was also looking for things that you might miss that might be worth mentioning to you that could help.😂 You pretty much covered it. I will say though those fenders do like to rust around where the inner fender bolts to the inside of the outer fender. The inner rockers like to rust where they meet the outer rocker in the door jamb/seal area (the junk collecting channel you showed) which did look good but it might have some surprises in the rocker department. Only other thing that I think might help is looking into the tail light housing area at the inside of the tailgate posts where they are welded to the floor. The posts in general are known to have problems, but especially in that pocket. Being that it’s a western vehicle it’s probably good. I had to do some surgery on mine, but it’s a “midwest” vehicle. Not at all trying to make it sound like I know everything because that’s absolutely not the case😂, just trying to give a bit of a heads up just in case. Hopefully everything is good though. Can’t wait to watch this build from beginning to end.
I show some of what your talking about in next weeks video. Im currently taking it apart so we can get started on it.
Gonna be a awesome rig
Yes it will be a cool truck
Can't wait to see what you do with this!!
Im not getting to wild but it should be an awesome truck to drive around when im done with it. It will take me a while so lots of videos of it are coming!
Piece of cake for you dane LOL solid and sano hard to find in that condition lookin forward to seeing the blazers transformation....🙂👍🙏
I will update the play list as I go on it! Thank you for watching!
Nice! Looking forward to whatever you can show us on the build. No Dane we dont believe you about not going to worry too much about power. Lol. I can already see the turbo from the Boom on it.
Well its not for me so its getting stock stuff. The pacer will make more power then this truck 🤣
@@Burndown I forgot about the pacer.
looking forward to this, thank homie
Thank you Ruth!
It's pretty solid! Those old Jimmy's/Blazers were great. Have a idea when the Maliboom will be done? I believe that's the way the front lead springs are supposed to be. My first truck was a 1978 Chevy 4wd truck. If I remember correctly that's the way it was.
I started back on the boom yesterday. The race is at the end of June so the clock is ticking.
That's a very nice untouched find. Has tons of potential. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it!
Thanks Phil! Yeah its in great shape for 49 years old!
If 4wd isn’t really your thing, these can be converted to 2wd fairly easily. Might be worth looking at!
They requested 4wd
👍👍
This thing is cool. Im not an off road guy but I like this little truck
Can't wait till the top gets painted been waiting on mine was thinking raptor liner?
I will sand and bodywork it smooth I think but I have not decided yet. Factory has a texture to it.
I read everywhere that it's a nightmare if you start sanding on it. It was intentionally made porous by gm.
Lift it fix up some stuff run it .
Its staying stock for the most part
Not going to lie she is potental but she is rough she needs lots of work
From the things I usually get this is miles better then what I normally work on.
Ohio u wouldn't find something like that nice
I feel like its a good start!
What did all that "action" cost?😂
7500
There is a 76 I was looking at here in TX all original but well used GMC Jimmy. Green color, all original never been touched but again well used and the body has a lot of rust on it. They want $4500 but my question is, being there is a lot of rust in all the usual places is that something an average person should stay away from completely or just way way less?
Places make lots of parts for theses. If you have interest in learning metal work and body work it will take some time to get through a project.
@@Burndown Should the price be less or is that about the going price for these? I was thinking more like $2500 or so.
@@bradh7472 they are expensive from what I have found
@@Burndown True.
those are stock front springs, meant for comfort.. cheap suspension upgrade honestly
Yeah makes sense so they clear the axel
