    07-08, 08-09, 09-10(before the knee injury) Chris Paul was a different breed of Point Guard. Extremely quick & fast & super strong for someone 6ft I never seen him bullied on the court. He could score from any level on the court, had an UNGODLY handle, clutch he could take over & close games, would put up 20+ every night & averaged 12 assists a game with average players on his team & a defensive nightmare as well he would EXPLOIT the defense & he would lock up & take the ball from the best player on the opposing team. He Averaged 3 steals a game & broke the record for most consecutive games with a steal back in 2009 (106 games). Before his meniscus tear in 2010 he was on pace to be possibly the greatest point guard ever, he was unstoppable. There’s nothing he couldn’t do on the court. You should upload a 08-09 highlight for him that’s when he was at his peak. I can remember games in 2008-2009 where had triple doubles & almost had quadruple double multiple times that year & he had games with 30 points & 19 assist. Many people don’t remember young Chris Paul before the clippers he was really the TRUTH there was a reason he was 99 overall back in 2008/2009 on 2K & there’s a reason he is the POINT GOD he is the epitome of the PG position. Why do you think the NBA Vetoed the trade back in 2011 ? Because they knew Kobe & Young CP3 together would have DOMINATED the league & it wouldn’t have been fair 😏. He is Truly the Last Of A Dying Breed you may not appreciate him now but everyone will when he is retired.

    If Prime CP played in today’s up and down era I think he could’ve averaged 25 and 13.5 apg with 50/37/88 splits not to mention about 3 spg with around 2 T.O per game. He’s one of the most complete PGs to play the game . He could score, assist, and defend while having complete control of the tempo of the game. His prime years were wasted by poor front office decisions , failing to surround him a elite wing scorer until he played with James Harden.

  • @Switcheroo1

    Man young CP3 had a nasty first step, & his quickness was crazy; still as crafty and smart as ever, fans have become more accustomed to the older, not as explosive, more methodical version of Chris, but New Orleans CP3 was a BLUR! Barely 6ft tall but is a BULLDOG on the court and could do everything as a player, his offensive game super well rounded, can hit u with a 3, make u run into a screen and hit the big for a lob, cross you up and pull up from midrange, give u a lil bump and hit u with a floater, or that weird euro step thing he did where he’d decelerate and fade at the rim to kiss it off the glass, Just reminds me how much a legend this guy is, CP3 slander is crazy these days

    • @spiidey1
      @spiidey1 Před 3 lety +19

      Unfortunately, the media HAD to give Kobe the 2008 MVP for a number of reasons. Kobe never won it in his prior seasons, he was the most popular player in the league in the mid 2000s, his prime was running out, and Lebron was quickly becoming the undisputed best player and face of the league.
      I don't mean to slander Kobe, but he never had a GOAT season that was reflected in advanced statistics like his peers (the same could be said for Iverson). All Kobe did really well was score a lot of points, and after his 81 point game, people really wanted to call him the best player in the league. But his teams never won, and lost in the 1st round in back to back years. It was only after they got Pau that the Lakers truly became a force in the west.

    07/08 and 08/09 version of CP3 are the most complete PGs in NBA history on offense and defense.
    His main problem throughout his career are lack of size, which led to Napoleon complex and most of his injuries.

    07-08 Spurs vs Hornets 2nd round match-up was when I first heard of Chris Paul. Also, this season had what I thought (and still think) was the craziest race for the first seed in a conference in the NBA (a 3 game difference from 1st to 5th).

    This video makes me smile and wanna cry. This man was basically unstoppable that year. The trio of CP3, David West and Tyson Chandler was very effective until injuries (Chandler ankle, CP knee, West knee) and incompetent team building (Fuck you Jeff Bower) basically killed any long term success they could've had. Sadly they mismanaged the CP3 and AD eras. Hopefully they can stop blowing games and turn the corner because this current Pels team is the most talented since they moved to New Orleans.
