- Making plans while being on the road is almost imposible.
I planed to leave Gran Canaria so I started cycling to the port of Las Palmas.
I once again rode my bike through paradise-like landscapes, camped at beautiful wild places, always accompanied by my lovely friend: "The wind"...
When I arrived in Las Palmas, life happened and wonderful encounters took place, so decided to stay a little longer...

Today I learned that Puerto rico is also a city on Gran Canaria, not only US islands in the Caribbean. I did not know that, seriously.

Gran Canaria is very beautiful in the mountains, the Pico de las Nieves and the Roque Nublo. The Valley of the Tears and ride down the GC505 from Soria to the southern coast is fantastic. The east is also very pretty around Valsequillo and San Mateo. GC is a cycling paradise but you have to like climbing mountains!

Is Gran Canaria better than Tenerife for bike packing in your opinion?.... I've spent a lot of time in El medano and enjoy it's laid-back vibe..... Is there anywhere else similar that you have discovered and you would recommend? Thanks
I'd say for bikepacking they are pretty much similar. Loved the El Medano vibe as well. I'd say it always depends on the people you meet and each place has its own magic!

Sorry if I bother but I think you have got very big arms for be a biker because bikes makes skinny people on the top of the body, are you sure you go always on bike (whit flip flops shoes ) or taking taxis?
Actually I am not cycling. I carry the bike for 100s of kilometers, that's why I have such big arms.
