Thanks a lot for watching and safe journeys!
Hi Gabriel! It's great to see you in my home country. A couple of observations/tips from this video:
- For lunch, try to look for places which advertise the "menú del día", or ask if they have it. That's where most locals will be eating and you should be able to get a starter, main dish, bread, dessert, coffee and a bottle of wine (yes, a whole bottle) for about 15€, maybe even less. 25€ for those portions you got at the beginning was a steep price.
- Most of the signs you're seeing are not actually in Spanish (as in Castilian) but in Valencian, which is sort of a dialect of Catalan spoken in the Comunidad Valenciana. People will have no problem understanding if you speak Spanish though. This includes the actual names of some villages. For instance Calp is in Valencian, in Spanish we call it Calpe
Good tips, thanks for the info. I definitely need to try the menu del dia.
Gabriel's ears pricked up when you mentioned a whole bottle of wine!
@@witlof5492 I can't disagree. 🥂
Valenciano is a language full grammar and all, not a dialect lol
@@vivayo4588 It is a regional language different from Spanish, and similar to Catalonian?
I know the feeling of being in a place for a couple of days and you really start to think about what it would be like to live there. That usually means you are in the right place.
Everyone should visit Spain at least once!
Don't forget to visit Sardinia mister Gabriel you miss it last time. Awesome video by the way.
Beautiful sunny Spain
I love how the upload is always faster than the download speeds in the rest of the world. USA is backwards. Sorry, I work in IT lol i cant help but notice these things! Much love brother! Love your content!
First time in Dénia for me was 1972. Love Denia❤. Denia has the Castell, 15 km Sandy Beach, Las Marinas, 5 km Rocky Beach, Las Rotas. Parque Natural Montgo, Sea Parque, Whale Watching near the Harbour, Dénia has the Harbour, two Piers, Ferryboat to Ibiza, Formentera, ❤ 51 Years Dénia changed my life for the better. Very nice People. Thank you for this Walkabout in Dénia ❤
I love the beautiful laidback vibe. Great music as well:)
A blessed Good day!! Sir Gabe, Wowwww Another Great Video I love this Beautiful 😍 Quiet Place of Denia Spain Perfect Tourist Spots, for the family and friends, and Traveller thank u so much for your wonderful walk around tour video Godbless from the Philippines 🇵🇭 sir Marvin 😍🙂👏👏👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
If it is affordable, and if I would be welcomed, this really appears to be a retirees paradise. Great leg of your 2023 European trek.
Love this trip. Well pretty much all of them.
Look forward to watching it later tonight ☀️🙏🕊️🌻🌷
Hi from CANADA.
Those purple trees are gorgeous. Jacarandas maybe?
So clean and peaceful!
Excellent video, Gabriel , discovering Denia with you..although I've visited many towns , villages on Costa Blanca, I had no idea about Denia..looks so peaceful..really cool.
I loved your previous vlog too, Calpe is fabulous..
reminded me alot of Greece..but it was in July..hot and full of tourists..
As for Benidorm, I spent one day there..and then took refuge in Altea, even if there was no sand on the beaches..at least more relaxed !
I adore Spain and its islands and wonder what I'm doing here in Paris 😃
Thank you for your hard work and enjoy Valencia as much as I do 😊🍀🖐
After Valencia, you may want to consider a cheap flight (Volotea) to Asturias (aka Green Spain). We’ve been living here for 5 years, and it’s a magical paradise with an incredible wild coastline bordered by the Picos de Europas mountains. Very few non- Spaniards know about it. Gijón is an epic city on the coast, and there are many great fishing villages like Llanes, Luanco, Luarca … with protected coastal hikes and hidden beaches between villages. Also, the Picos mountains are astonishing and accesible.
Sounds good to me.
Spain and greece are my favourite countries beautiful scenery and cultures ❤
I like portugal and croatia, but Mediterranean countries are very good. I hope to visit Israel someday
Anywhere Mediterranean is pretty nice.
@tombuddy100 agreed! I do find Portugal is abit windy tbh but turkey is another top country to visit all Greek islands Spanish islands are beautiful
@@turtletalk4905 Why do you prefer Portugal over Spain? I'm just curious
Yeah great economies, don’t need any subsidies, low taxes, high personal freedoms, can stand on their own as independent countries 😆
I like the beautiful design of the local buildings in Spain. So nice.😀👍👍
Spain is very diverse, the architecture you see is from this area, Alicante. If you go to other areas it changes.
Hey Gabriel, I'm from NY but make my home here in Denia now. Great job on the video and narration. You were out walking at siesta time and here in Denia we take siesta very seriously so not many people out and about. This is a great place to live and you showed it well.
All the tourists do the same thing, no idea
Nice city.
Gabe: *stumbles upon an abandoned warehouse*
“Wooaaahhh look at these ancient ruins!!”
🤣❤
So stoked to see Spain.
I've been wanting move to Denia and then this popped up. Thanks for the inspiration ❤
Hi, Gabriel . I'm from valencia and in this area you have to do some hiking to see the beautiful small beaches between the mountains( calas). Near Denia you have the Tallada cave. Granadella beach near Javea is one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe.
I highly recommend that you come to Valencia, one of the most beautiful big cities of the Mediterranean, at the same level that Barcelona.
Congratulations for you chanel, its an inspiration to keep traveling and discovering the world
In Europe? Please.....La Granadella is beautiful as is any other cove in the Mediterranean, but from there to position it among the most beautiful... please...
Great videos Gabriel 😎😊❤️
You definitely should have checked out Guadelest, it`s the most insane little village on top of a mountain surrounded by cliffs. It`s a long drive from Denia, but worth it. Was there 21 years ago, when living in Denia for two weeks. This video brought up memories and a feeling of nostalgia. Very nice!
I agree, I visited Guadalest 2 years ago..20 km inland, (into the mountains) from Benidorm, fabulous landscape, vegetation, wonderful tall palmtrees, the castle ,unique , XI century, overshadowing the valley and this green lake , almost unreal color ! And the village, some museums..
Nice memories..
But Altea is also very beautiful..
I wish I were there, especially in this time of the year, with less tourists...
Very Beautiful Place Spain is one of my favourite countries
Lovely, I luv Spain enjoy ❤
I have not been to Spain but was in Sicily last summer for a conference. This historical town looks a lot similar to Sicilian towns I visited.
Spectacular views there!
Wish I could live there!
Very beautiful place. Un espectacular pueblo marinero alicantino. Thanks for the video, Gabriel. Enjoy your stay!!
So beautiful. Oh, to walk along the beaches and ride along the bike paths.
Great vibe in this video. Spain is an absolute treat any time of the year. Take it easy ✌🏻
Hello Gabriel, the beach and the blue water look very nice, did you go for a swim ?
Love these little "non touristy" little towns.
Los "no turísticos" son los del interior, no los de la costa.
Not touristy? 😂😂😂...Totally touristy
Hi gabe I love altea and denia I visit the Costa blanca and the Costa del sol quite often as I have friends in those areas you're going to love valencia it's an amazing city have fun😂
Beautiful place great video thank you Gabe
Love the food ❤❤❤ looks amazing.
I am from Bulgaria and my favourite countries in Europe are Spain, Italy and Greece, besides my own country. Nothing beats the warm climate and beauty of Southern Europe..
Food and drink looks delicious 💯🙏💙👍🍺
I'll try again - places to visit (in Valencia) include the Cabanyal area which has amazing houses covered with ceramic tiles, the old riverbed which is now a park that includes the Gulliver statue you can climb onto (great for a thumbnail!), the Micalet tower next to the cathedral that is also worth climbing, the great bars in the Barrio del Carmen north of the Cathedral and especially the Pilareta on Carrer Moro Zeit which sells amazing mussels you then throw the shells into a bucket, it's a very old bar. You may want to try and catch Valencia v Real Madrid this weekend though it'll be sold out I imagine. The Mercat Municipal near the Lonja (silk exchange) is very colourful, lots of fab food outlets.
Beautiful
Another excellent video , thanks and well done
Gabriel Seville has a very old church you should see. It was in the movie night and day with Tom Cruise and Candance Diaz
Have you thought about visiting costa del sol? Malaga, Fuengirola, Benalmadena, mijas and Marbella; it’s an incredible place maybe I can
show you around, I live in mijas
I've been to Malaga: czcams.com/video/abIsVbBpsoA/video.html
Damn Gabriel, here I'm off youtube for a few weeks and you come through our beautiful city??? How could I miss this..?? Amazing, can't wait to dig in... :)
Cool, enjoy the videos from Spain, here's the whole series:
czcams.com/video/dccGj-igxfo/video.html
You have to see Orba . Benidoleig .the caves . Sanet. All the towns are just fantastic.
Should do the Provence region in France next. I'd recommend Ventabren, just beside Aix en Provence. Another 'real' town without tourists that you love.
You're right, a real hidden gem, less known, even by the French.😊
What about Carcassonne..
authentic medieval fortress and citadel , with 3 km.of defensing ramparts , dating back to the Gallo Roman period., inhabited since the Neolithic . .in the Languedoc , south
France 😊
Gabriel, you're the best!!
The reason it's so pleasant besides the weather is because the town is designed for pedestrians, not cars. In America everything is spread out and car-centric forcing most people to have to get in their car and drive somewhere if they want to grab a bite to eat.
Age of towns and cities in the US? Denia, Dianium has existed since before the 1st century BC. That's why the street layout and urban planning. This extends to the entire Mediterranean and Europe.
@@susanaescriba977 Cities in the US used to be walkable, but we destroyed them to make car infrastructure. Look at old photos of Houston and Atlanta before cars. They looked like Europe. I saw an old picture of street in Cincinnati which I mistaked for Budapest. That street now is a highway and a bunch of lots.
@@rexx9496 Thanks for the information but I'm talking about History, centuries of History and social evolution.
Denia has been around for thousands of years. It’s only been in the last 5 years our liberal mayor has introduced hating on cars, solar panels, building thousands of apartments, etc, etc. He’ll leave and then it’s back to normal, and still cool.
Always amazing stuff, stay safe Gabe..
Take a ferry from denia to formentera non stop with balearia
Holla, Nice city for vacation, thank you Gabriel for showing us beautiful places. Enjoy your time. Chaos
Beautiful!
The worlds best beach has just been named! It’s Lucky Bay in Western Australia.
You must visit next time in Australia.
💡👍Brilliant!!
Looks like €100/day is perfectly doable in Dénia, this time of year.
Beautiful video! Always love a walk around/ explore with Gabriel. ~Cara 😊
I've never been in Denia. Looks very nice. Thanks for the video Gabe
Hi Gabe
The Costa Blanca is my next trip.
Hopefully, you can video Xabia (Javier), Moraira and Calpe .....
Whats the hotel name in Denia?
Two great towns near Benidorm are Villajoyosa & Altea
I showed Altea in this video: czcams.com/video/2PGEbtvDBB8/video.html
That was a pricey breakfast! Beautiful Judas trees.
Gabe - The castle and soaring music at 5:50 had a real Game of Thrones feel to it. I was alsmost expecting a dragon to fly by.
Hi if you get chance head to Villajoyosa 😊 amazing town to visit just down from Benidorm
Looks amazing. Seems like very reasonable prices for food and accom too compared to where I am in Australia. Not to mention the amazing history!!!
Very very cool. Looks the sort of place id love now that winter is setting in here in Melbourne.
Denia is a great small town to retire, the opposit of Benidorm next door.
You could have gone to the islands from Denia and returned to Valencia , which is a bit of a TT( tourist trap)
rock on man!
Looks beautiful. But then it is a coastal city. I wonder what it looks like if just driving few km inland into real Spain.
Denia has great cocktails bars . La Eucaristia . many in Loreto road
Hi Gabe. Looks like you’re having an awesome time! I love Spain. Any thoughts on doing the Camino walk? Also have a bit of a look into Toledo in the context of western mysticism, magick and spirituality, it’s an incredible city with a rich history. My favourite chill spot though, is Valencia. Beautiful market, the old riverbed, the Toros, Plaza del Virgen and the cathedral, it’s a fantastic town. Order yourself an Agua de Valencia- ice cold OJ with cava & vodka🎉
Come to Marbella !
Magazinos is a Tapa place great place to go in the evening
I sent a big long useful message about unmissable places you can visit in Valencia, how much they cost etc, but it looks as though it's been mistakenly flagged as spam because I'm talking about tourist areas. If you can retrieve it please do as there's lots of useful info there about an amazing old bar that sells the best mussels, as well as ways of seeing museums cheaply. If you can't retrieve it, I'll try and rewrite it without it sounding too spammy for the algorithms!
Strange, I don't see it and didn't delete it. Maybe an internet glitch. Thanks for the info.
My favorite traveler, how are you? 🙂 👊
Tired out from a long day of exploring, but it was worth it.
Hope you visit Eritrea, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan
FIRST thing to do go to tourists office get the map of the city
Hey Gabriel will you be visiting Izmir, Turkey one day. Great videos by the way
Hi Gabriel, Valencia is going to be quite a contrast but an excellent choice to see many historic monuments and churches and the Serranos Towers to name a few, hopefully, it won't be too crowded to enjoy. You mentioned Spain to live there remarkably interesting choice of words many ex-pats are thinking of moving to Spain or Portugal because of the cost of living, culture, and healthcare.
Try the ferry from Denia to Ibiza then fly to Valencia? A shame you didn't go to Calpe instead of Benidorm. A far nicer place, beautiful in fact and my wife and I are moving there with our daughter in the next year or two.
I tried to go to Calp today actually, really wanted to see it. But a road was closed resulting in a long detour and I ran out of time so I had to skip it. Next time.
Good stuff as always.... picturesque
Curious... been trying to keep up w/each upload ... maybe I missed the mention....did you throw the proverbial dart/spin the globe & plant the finger with this latest destination...or has it been on the List?
Enjoy these off the beaten track locales...low foot traffic, etc > liven the life Brother 👍
Just caught the answer....all caught up now... evidently I missed yesterdays upload
A girl he knows is there .
@@anthonydowling3356 > thx... just made mention I missed yesterdays upload ....so question is...how did Ellen & Her Mom choose that locale? 😉
6# peace Gabe safe travels
How is the local ATM withdrawal fee?
..Increase or decrease or the same as last time in Spain..
I made one cash withdrawal but forget how much the fee was. Maybe 3-4 euros.
From Denia to Ibiza is 3 and a bit hours
from denia i took a ferry to ibiza. its not as far as from barcelona
How long does it take
Las Rotas . El cabo de San Antonio
Town like Moraira fab town . Calpe . Altea .
Hi Gabriel, Besides Cuba, would you consider visiting Capetown, South Africa, Montevideo, Uruguay, Caracas, Venezuela or Tbilisi and Batumi Georgia. Also Saranda Albania.
La mulți ani!
Marquez de campo is the main street . place to go
How much would those lamb chops cost in Montenegro Kotor bay area?
Where in your view is the best deal right now to buy a property? Spain? Portugal? Kuala Lumpur? Da Nang? Northern Italy? Cyprus? Greece? ...
Gabriel is a traveller - not a real estate agent!
Eastern Ukraine .Go for it .Sounds like you are cashed up .
Da Nang for sure
Estrella is a national beer of Spain? No Sir, it is not. There is for example Estrella Damm from Barcelona, Estrella Galicia (from Galicia of course), which is very different, etc etc...
1,2 or 3. Hi Gabe
👍👍
Nice. Will you visit Pirenees mountains?
No plans for this trip, but I've been there before: www.youtube.com/@gabejedmo/search?query=Andorra
No need to tell me the hotel name now -- just saw it in the video .....
Should be in 4k and in focus, anything beyond 50ft is blurred. At 599k subs sort it out...!
Baleares is the name of the ferry to go to Ibiza .formentersa
Denia looks like a great town for older retirees like me if they only would let people live there long term without having to leave every 3 months.
