I love Boy George and Culture Club. But he wasn't the Madonna of the 80's. They had 2 huge albums in 82 and 83, and by 1985 they sharply declined, and that was that. I think overexposure, as well as weak material contributed to this. "The war song" especially started the decline of chart positions
Boy George is great. He doesn't put on airs, pretend to someone he not. I believe is is one of the most truthful people I have seen. He is simply wonderful. I wish that someday have the privileged to meet him.
He's an outstanding fellow. I got the opportunity to meet him briefly at a banquet in London and he was remarkably down-to-earth, funny, kind and good natured. Nothing I had expected, so glad I met him.
Charming, witty, a true great musician! Boy George is the most amazing Brit musician in the '80s. He's still one of my fave artists as of today. His music is still refreshing and captivating at this times.
George says that he would like to be remembered for great songs in 40 years time. I certainly will remember his songs. He's written and sung some beautiful ones. Thanks for posting this interview. Sarah
I just love Boy George interviews. He's so witty. Such a unique individual. Great memories of Boy George would be his songs for sure, such a talented, creative and honest. Thanks for the memories Boy George!!! Stay strong and positive.
I'm in love with him as well. I truly would jump on a plane this moment if he'd have me and permanently move to England, which is my ancestral homeland anyway. But alas, I am a heterosexual woman. However I could give him those "kiddies" he said he would love to have in another interview I just saw. Do You hear that George? You have only to ask, darlin'!
Mary Poppins lol. I hear you. I pretty much binge watched videos of him all through February. I still think he's amazing and wish him only the best. But as much as I want to I simply can't click on this video at this moment or I'll be at it all over again, lol!
I love him so much! -in a friendish way. He is SO smart and quick witted and he is probably the most kind and beautiful person (inside and out) that i would ever *hope* to meet. Love You George
Loved him then, love him now. He was so significant in so many pages of several chapters of my life all throughout college! Best memories EVER! 80s also best decade EVER!
darkknightsds when I first saw the kissing to be clever album cover, I told my sister I thought boy george was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen, and my sister said "not a girl, a boy" and I said, then she is the most beautiful boy I have ever seen. lol

This was March/April 1986, while he was in the grips of his drug addiction, From Luxury To Heartache & Move Away was released in March '86, in his book he said one of his journalist friends sold him out & wrote in the newspaper that during this interview he was erratic & clearly on drugs.
+visionof love It was at least one year after because Aspen mentions that Boy George reached No.1 and that happened in March 1987 with his version on "Everything I Own" by David Gates (his first solo hit as a solo artist and his first solo single after leaving Culture Club). We can realize now that "he was erratic & clearly on drugs" during this interview, by reading his autobiography, but I don't thing it was clear for his fans back then. There's a picture from this period in "his book" with the (same hair & make up and the) ironic subtitle "Having fun on drugs"...
+xfactorcritic Yes you're right. I checked the picture in "Take it like a man" with the same haircut and it was taken in 1986. And Aspel refers to "Move Away" single saying "you are back in the charts" during the interview
I love Boy George and especially his style during the 1980´s. He has always been very outspoken and I love how his style during the 1980´s was something that people could make on their own and that you didn´t need to be rich to afford it. Would love just to meet him, because he always seems so sweet and easy to be around.
he has been thru alot nd dont forget he is 26 years older now xx he isnt still in his 20s he has grow up xx nd he has sorted hislife out for good x he is still george he still has his personatly nd he is still himself x
I still cannot believe that I sat on my formica kitchen table in 1982, aged 10, and talked to my mum seriously, about whether George was a boy or girl. We really didn’t know. Such was the innocence of those days. We loved George, my sister was a HUGE Culture Club fan, and my mum is from Surbiton so when we were down at the Thames there we’d often see the Karma Chameleon paddle steamer go past with great excitement. Aspel is pretty typical of interviewers of the times here, getting the cheap laughs at his expense. He was and is such an intelligent individual, but very broken. I think we’re lucky he’s still around given so many of the Blitz Kids didn’t make it. And given that he was SO out there and outwardly unselfconscious way back then in a way that people still struggle with, and are judged for even now.
I was around in the 80's. I recall him well. He was actually popular back then, and we listened to his music. One day people will look back on this decade and laugh believe it or not.
Boy George is unique and one of the most stunning performers and we love him..always will!!!
He's such charming and witty person here! And his hair is great, It's sweet that he totally checked and fixed his hair in the camera when he sat down
he has the most infectious laugh, the little critter :) So good to see him on form, really adorable, so unique and not at all affected. thanks BG
His accent and the way he talks is cute
I love this interview, I watch it over and over, I'm addicted.

He was so adorable,
I love you boy George leonie
He's still good looking today! He's aged amazingly well!
Smart, hilarious, witty and gorgeous! This man defined the 80´s. He is the male Madonna.
great guest for all these chat shows. you can see why they had him on so much.
I love Boy George and Culture Club. But he wasn't the Madonna of the 80's. They had 2 huge albums in 82 and 83, and by 1985 they sharply declined, and that was that.
I think overexposure, as well as weak material contributed to this.

Michael is the male Madonna.
Well "said" ❤
his voice is so attractive .. such a great sense of humor he holds
Boy George is great. He doesn't put on airs, pretend to someone he not. I believe is is one of the most truthful people I have seen. He is simply wonderful. I wish that someday have the privileged to meet him.
Possibly my favourite interview of his
I love him, every since I was a little girl back in the 80's. He just seems like a really genuine person, someone you would want to hang out with.
He's an outstanding fellow. I got the opportunity to meet him briefly at a banquet in London and he was remarkably down-to-earth, funny, kind and good natured. Nothing I had expected, so glad I met him.
You were so lucky I see he is a beautiful person, sad he had addiction with drugs 😍😔
