I’ve always wanted to go to Japan, but was unsure of what I’d be able to eat - some of my colleagues who’ve been to Tokyo and Okinawa said there’s either pork or beef in everything, and that the vegetarian dishes often include fish. Thank you for going into such great detail about what you could eat, and where you ate - the only place on my travel list I now have to analyse better is S Korea 😅
Ah me too! I was so nervous about going because everyone (non-vegans) that had been before told me how hard it would be for me, but when you’re actually looking for vegan food, there are a lot of options - I just did plenty of research beforehand! We mostly ate in vegan restaurants or places that offered vegan options, but otherwise we just used Google Translate and everyone seemed to be very knowledgeable and accomodating! Yes! I would love to visit South Korea too, I think with plenty of research there will be enough vegan options! ☺️
Ah we fell in love with Japan and had the best time, thank you! Already planning to come back 😍 So much inspiration for some recipes, I’ll plan on sharing them soon! 💕
Check travel guides and print out an info card of what you can and cannot eat. It can be helpful to email places in advance too if you’re in an area where you’re struggling to find something online. places may accommodate by mix matching items if your request is polite.
