INSIDE - Secret ending (with door code) vs. Normal ending

The sequence for the door is Up, Up, Right, Left, Right, Right, Right, Up, Up, Up, Right, Left, Left, Left.
Does the first ending mean that the kid had no free will? We controlled him the whole time - same as other humans controlled their experiments in the game?

It doesn't work because you have to deactivate all of the orbs in the game (in a previous game, of course)
