For the PE, just get a book of example questions and work through the questions, all of them. Don't concentrate on one area. When you take the test you will find that there are short answer, easy, questions in each area (structures, fluids, environment, traffic etc.). It makes the test much easier.
I am currently waiting on results from Civil transpo and in the stage of doubt, so I've been looking into EET after doing group study with SOPE material for the first time. I've heard EET is great for the depth so I'm glad you reaffirmed that. I am curious how much the PE has changed since when you did because I felt like the NCEES was decently easier than the real one. Definitely asked you problems in the same odd way by the difficulty of the problems were amped up.

I am preparing for PE structural April. I took EET for both structural depth and breadth. I wonder if you took any other practice exam. After the simulated exam, I feel like I am not prepared enough.

I'd recommend Breadth and Depth, I tried to get Depth, but like I said, they were full (I think they implemented on-demand, so that may not be an issue anymore). So I didn't have a choice but to self-study for depth.

Passing on the first time means you are well prepared. If you don’t pass the PE the first time - don’t worry try again. It doesn’t mean you are any less smarter. But also do not to brag if you pass it the first try. These stuff are not rocket science - just requires a lot of work and time!!!
What I'm wondering about is the books they require you to be aware of. Asce 7, aashto, aci 318, aisc, wood. I think I have the wood and I've found some pdfs but I'm having trouble finding complete pdfs. I am more of a tangible person when studying and like to have the material in front of me. I have the cerm but now the test is all computer based so I can't bring in anything. What would you recommend

Hi Matt this video is very helpful. Should I take geotech or structural? I heard the geotech exam may be easier from my non-design SE friends who have taken it. However, since I do structural design work, my coworkers have taken it and they passed, but found it hard. The structural is hard bc of the vast knowledge for all the standards and wood, masonry, steel,etc it requires, but for geotech depth I hear it's a lot of obscure theory questions, which I have no experience in.

Not to my knowledge, but taking civil engineering matters, eg not electrical PE. But check the Ncees website and with others since it’s been too long since I took the PE
I know you will need to get licensed here even if you are licensed in another country unless you meet some special exception. You could look on the NCEES website.

In California, the S.E. exam is required if you want to stamp/sign off on certain types of high profile buildings, such as hospitals and high rises. You can certainly work on those types of project without an S.E., but you can't legally be the one stamping the drawings. Also in California, since we deal with seismic analysis frequently, the SE exam also makes you more valuable/promotable, so I'd say it's more important in seismic regions than say states that don't require an S.E. Also in California, you also need to take a Seismic test and Surveying test along with the 8 hour PE exam to get your PE for California (stricter than other states). The SE exam has been nationalized, so everyone in the U.S. will take the same exact S.E. exam.

They are online classes! Live sessions vs On Demand course (you watch the videos on your own time/terms). I took the On demand course and they sent me a link to the videos and mailed me the binder. The videos will walk you through the binder page by page- Very glad I did that. If you pass, they will ask you to promote them, that is what I am doing right now - hope they also paid me :)
Technically, any PE can stamp most civil engineering drawings, but it's unethical and a huge liability for you if you stamp something you're not competent in. You'll get sued if anything goes wrong with that structure and your license will probably be revoked later.

The morning section I did self study. I took the EET for the afternoon structural part only and it works well for me. I recommend EET.

So is it safe to say that you don't really need the CERM if you have the EET binders? I'm trying to avoid buying more bulky books than necessary.
The CERM is a must for the exam. The EET binders are good but won’t cover everything that’s on the test.

Does California require a SE exam? In Illinois PE and SE are separate PE is 8 hour test and SE is 16 hour exam.
