I never think I’m THAT pale but when you were describing wanting a lip color to go with a bold eye look and everything in your collection being too much of a look, even the lightest shades, I felt that so hard! Really love all of the shades you created

I'm scent-sensitive, so there have been many times where I love a brand's lipstick color but their added scent gives me headaches. I'd be interested in trying Finding Ferdinand to recreate or mimic an existing lip color but unscented!
I personally think grungy twiggy looks good on you. I think wearing it with a lip liner maybe a gloss and your vb onyx smokey eye would be flattering.
Wow how interesting. I had wanted to gift this experience at Christmas to a friend’s daughter but i only knew about Bite Beautys program and the lipsticks are 60Usd/ 75$cad which is over the top in my opinion from a mid-ish range brand. Love this, thanks!

This is so fun! I really admire how specific you were about the colors you were trying to achieve. I never think as critically about my lipsticks- I’m just like “yeah, love it!” Or “not my fave.” These turned out so well!

I went and ordered two immediately. I think getting to name the colors may be my favorite. Greddish (grey red that isn't too vampy or too purple) and My Lips But Bruised-er (which is what it sounds like).

Bobbi Brown Crushed Lipcolor is my favorite lipstick formula (discovered because of your description of Babe years ago!) and I’m thrilled to know I have the option to get a custom lipstick color in a similar formula. I have trouble finding neutral lipsticks light enough for my pale skin, but I will probably wait until we don’t need mask as much, I expect to have more desire to wear lipsticks then. In meantime I love watching you swatch and talk color theory!

I just started a year-long no-buy and for a moment though of caving in and getting a lipstick! But nah. What I wanna do (following my inner-Hannah) is swatch my collection, mix stuff to get new colors, and put this company in my wishlist to see how I feel at the end of the year, if I really missed having a particular color or tone available to me during the year, or a specific formula. I suspect I’ll be pretty content with my current selection though, but the color-lover in me swooned at the customization potential.

I’m a medium olive, and I only recently realized that a true nude on me is more yellow-brown than pink-brown. Otherwise, it just presents as straight pink.
Have you looked at the Mac powder kiss lipsticks? They have a few colors that live in the ‘my lips but better’ area.
Years ago I had a true royal purple lipstick that I loved. A proper, cool toned, blue based, no pink purple. I would love a satin lipstick in that colour.

I'm so happy to learn about these custom lipsticks! I have a tiny nubbin left of Clinique Tenderheart in the sheer formula. I got another and the color is not the same 😖 it's a touch more orange based so it gives spagetti vibes on me instead of being a lovely rosey brown. The one I used up was my absolutely perfect lipstick. I'd love it if I could manage to replicate the color.

I have the same issue with finding a pale nude for my super pale cool toned almost translucent skin self! Maybelline 910 Bare All is the palest nude I've ever found, therefore it's my favorite. Reminds me of how sooty peony looks on you. Grungy twiggy is MY NEW LOVE 💘

A perfect balance for a raspberry red & a neutral browny beige that would suit a medium tan skin tone with neutral warm olive undertone 😰 And a bright neutral purple!!!

I have this same issue with paint swatches. We painted our kitchen and bathroom a while back and I brought home all these paper swatches and picked the color I decided would look best. But the color of paper or...on a screen, just didn't translate to what the physical color would look like on the wall. I can see why it would be similar with lipstick. 2D color and 3d color aren't the same.

I think you would like Revlon Super Lustrous in 'Nude Fury'. I think it's between Sooty Peony and Redwood Construction. It's Mink's lighter sister with slightly less red in it than Mink has.

Seeing your journey of going from excitement to trepidation to being so giddy and happy was an emotional roller coaster. An incredibly soothing, delightful emotional roller coaster.
Over here, the colours were exactly the same as the blocks on screen, when you were holding it.
I am amazed at how well their formula was able to bring across your vision! So many times a light color looks horrible on the lips not because of the shade itself, but because of the zinc-paste look it gets when a chalky formula grips onto weird spots on your lips (from my experience in the early 2000s). This was sooo cool to see, I'm especially intrigued to dupe the vibes of redwood construction because I know that is what most of my collection leans towards in terms of color

I have a shade from Mac that is a muted. dusty raspberry that I love, BUT, I HATE the formula. Perhaps I could try to get that color in a different formula. Thanks for some great relaxing content after this very draining day.
There was a beautiful black shiny lipstick in the now discontinued Guerlain Little Black Dress lipstick line. It was very sheer and could be worn alone or on top of other shades to deepen and transform. Beautiful smell too. I would give anything for that lipstick!
What an awesome service! I know that a lot of peoples favorite shades are always being discontinued. This is a great way to get the same shade without buying a super old, icky one from eBay that is 10 years old. My favorite shade is Tootsie from Colourpop but it is discontinued. It’s a more mauve , weird version of Gone a Greige.

seeing all of your color choices and descriptions of what you like, I would LOVE to see you try Melt's lipstick in "Voyeur". it's a really unique dirty mustard shade and I've never seen anything else like it!! I'm also very pale and it's not too dark on me!

I'm SCREAMING. haha. I'm someone who barely owns lipstick (mostly just a few glosses), because I literally have the same issues you described. Granted, I'm not as pale as you are on the foundation spectrum - I can definitely find my shade 85% of the time - but for whatever reason, I have the same affliction when it comes to lip color. And it's sort of a combo of relative paleness mixed with a pinky-cool-neutral skin undertone which makes every lipstick pull either orange or gray, no matter what. This feels like such an attempt worth making, and I so appreciate your walking us through how you built your colors, because it gave me real food for thought on how I'd approach the same. THANK you for doing this review! I'm so excited to have an avenue, and also so excited that you now have these lip colors you love! Ahhhh!! hahaha.
I think you are the only youtiber I've found that has the same coloring as me, so I'm excited at the prospect of soft fawn- colored lipsticks like these! Most lipsticks turn orange on me...
I was so confused because from the thumbnail, I couldn’t understand why you bought concealers and bronzer/contour sticks to use as lipstick! But after explaining why certain nude colors were too dark on you, it totally made sense and 3/4 colors looked great! It really got me thinking I am constantly in search of a red that leans very brown brick color. I have a kind of peachy neutral skin tone so the bright orange or blue based reds look terrible on me and I’m constantly having to mix brown into the reds I purchase for them to be wearable enough to use. I would love to find my perfect brown red shade!
This is so neat! I'm intrigued because my elusive colour is a sheer strawberry but with no hint of peach or orange! Common in balms but not the new bullet type sheer glossy lipsticks 🍓

Every time I hear you talk about "pale concealer lips" I wonder what your opinion of MAC Myth is. Same for "sheer brown" and the classic Clinique Tenderheart.
The interesting thing is that when you hold the lipsticks next to the digital swatch, they both look exactly the same (at least on my screen). So maybe if we order them, we just need to go a bit deeper than we think. I don’t know. X
maybe if you find a way to get your skin tone colour on the computer and put it side by side with the lipstick shade? because that can tell if he tone and colour will flatter you and give you the results you are looking for!
