    That a lot of work for a cassette.
    Shimano seems to be the only one who figured it out.
    And you can replace cogs.

      If you consider the individual loose cogs on shimano cassettes that need to correctly be clocked on the freehub splines, the installation time for this cassette vs a shimano cassette is very similar. Most high end cassettes wear out the large alloy cog first. On our helix cassette, that section is replaceable. On Shimano cassettes it is not individually replaceable.

    Hi, E-thirteen! My local bikeshop didn't know how to loosen the cassette. They simply didn't noticed that the cassette is held together by two screws. They broke the free wheel on my new bike, they made multiple scratches on my new Helix R cassette, they broke the small screw. They didn't know how to remove the cassette. The only job they had to do is to remove the cassette from my old wheel and mount it on the new wheel. My new cassette looks like sh... now. My bike is still in the shop. I'm afraid they will break even more on it. They called me to tell me the "problem". I showed them your video how to mount and remove your Helix cassette. It honestly pisses me off. My new Helix R cassette is broken!

      Hi Nein_doch_oooh - We're sorry to hear that! Please have your shop reach out to us by submitting an inquiry at the link below. I am installed it after a bit of fighting but not sure if alu part sits deep enough on xd driver. Gap seems to be wider than on sram cassette

    What is the torque wrench used in the video? I’d like to get one in that range of force, but I can’t find a recommendable one.

      I have my second 9-45 gravel helix cassette, and the 1nm cassette bolt simply will not fit and grab threads in the hole. They are aligned. Do you have bolts with a smaller diameter head?

    Hi, I'm planning on purchasing this to replace my GX 10-50T cassette. Would i need to modify chain length because of the 9t first cog or can i keep the same chain length on my bike?

    • @ethirteen6382
      @ethirteen6382  Před měsícem +1

      @sphynx84 - You would not likely need to modify chain length due to the 10t to 9t cog, but you should certainly ensure the length is adequate for the larger 52T cog if you are getting one of our 9-52 as opposed to our 9-50 option. It is almost ALWAYS best practice to replace your chain and chainring when you are replacing your cassette. Here is a link to an article that shows how to properly size your chain: support.ethirteen.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034498211-How-to-determine-proper-chain-length-for-your-12s-e-thirteen-cassette

      Hey - Sorry about the delayed reply. Typically this could indicate and undersized XD driver body at the clamp location. However, there are a couple other things which are worth checking also. If you have not already gotten this sorted, can you please drop us a line via our support site here: support.ethirteen.com/ Thanks and sorry about the trouble.

  • @HindsightFPV

    I've been thinking about grabbing one of these cassettes, is the no threaded lock ring? Is it just being held on the XD driver with the 3mm hex bolt on the aluminum ring?

    • @ethirteen6382
      @ethirteen6382  Před 9 měsíci +2

      That is correct. The alloy section is clamped to the XD driver using a 3mm hex head fastener and then the steel section locks in place on the alloy section and is additionally supported by a bushing that interfaces with the end of the XD driver. It's a simple install process and the system is very reliable. Feel free to message us here or through our support site if you have any further questions. support.ethirteen.com/

    I really don’t understand why you keep using this fin design. It works for maybe 5 rides, then starts creaking. You have to basically service it EVERY other ride.

    Sad to say but your cassettes are just not great quality. Totally worn in 2 month taking care meticulously of my drivetrain, and a pain to install and remove. Both bolts were run, had to cut through to free my hub from the alloy spider.
