Best "sales pitch" on this helmet I've ever seen. 🙂Great video. I'm a Shoei wearer myself but I am also appreciative of good value so this has my interest.
Shoei are wonderful but we're still waiting on them to release a 22.06 Dual Sport helmet! I would expect whatever it is to be in the same price point as the Arai - Andrew
Damn good review.
Great stuff
I'd second this positive review. I've had a previous generation MX-9 as my main helmet for the last 4 years. I've done everything from 400+ mile rainy motorway days to 100+ mile off-road days through the Sahara in it. It is a bit noisy, the peak catches a bit of wind, and the anti-fog (while fantastic at first) does eventually give up the ghost. But considering the price point, it is just about the best helmet I've ever owned. I'm at the point now where I really ought to replace it, and I'm dallying because I would much rather just keep it for another season!
Awesome to hear long term feedback, thank you - Andrew
Recently did a helmet comparison video and in the end the MX-9 was my #1
Great to hear! - Andrew
You should (or I would appreciate) if you could add chapters to your videos to define where you talk about the various characteristics of the product. i.e. some people just care about weight or scale size to further their research. crisp audio though :D
Excellent point. Too busy getting prepped for the website launch! I've added the Chapters now! Thanks. Oh, and in case I didn't say in the video the weight is 1700g which is the same as the ones at far higher prices (except the Klim Krios Pro which I'll be reviewing shortly. That's in a weight class of it's own for Dual Sports at 1200g!) - Andrew
The older design is cool though, I own the old ver version and the helmet still looks awesome both price and usability, but the interior liners should be improved with fabrics quality and durability.
Room for speakers / comm units? Specifically the jbl speakers paired with Cardo - tia

Great review! In fact, it’s the best I’ve seen yet ? So I’ve always wore a large on most brands ? I’ve measured my bean and I’m 58cm exactly. Not sure the medium would work?
I'm 58 exactly and the medium works for me. We do free returns shipping so you can always try the M and L! - Andrew
There appears to be a ridge at the bottom of the visor where it come out about 3 or 4 mm, only ever seen this on double layered snowmobile helmets before - kind of like a built in pinlock. ‘Double glazing' sort of thing. Is this the case with this new MX-9?
The ridge is still single glazed; it's just to create a good seal and doubles as a point for lifting the visor up from wherever you want rather than just one spot. It's possible it has residual benefits with fog prevention but I couldn't say for sure - it's definitely the best anti-fog visor I've ever used that is not a pinlock; it's remarkably good! - Andrew
@@AdventureRiderMoto Sounds good! Thanks for the reply 👍
I have a previous generation and it is extremely noisy. Have they improved the noise level? The wind noise was terrible, and I get it's subjective. But if you used the prior version, that would be helpful to know, this video kind of glosses over the noise section.
I usually avoid discussing noise because it opens a can of worms. All Dual sports are noisier than normal road helmets. It is far quieter than others like the Klim Krios Pro but not as quiet as the Schubeth. For me, the noise has been a non-issue even on long motorway rides. I'm afraid I have not used the previous model enough to give further comparison. - Andrew
