Ah ha, yes now I understand, Victor. The seat profile has changed and it completely changes the look of the back end. No longer am I disturbed by the strangeness of the seat. Fascinating how that small change alters your eye, almost like an optical illusion. Frankenstein is a great build and I’m not surprised you were over budget, projects like this always go over, sometimes by a lot. Say €2000 quickly and you won’t even notice. I knew right from the second you pulled that bike out of the van exactly what that is! Also known as the triumph killer, I got to say that is one hell of a great choice brother, I believe that is the 76 model year, or a 77, I love the color and everything else about that bike, the engine is so aesthetically pleasing to look at, it's beautiful, the most beautiful and technologically-advanced parallel-twin of its time, and still beautiful as hell to this day, please put some videos out of her my brother! oh and by the way I have watched every single one of your videos of Frankenstein, just like you said that exhaust note from those peashooters is unbelievably intoxicating I absolutely love it, as badass as your Frankenstein is I seriously cannot wait for your XS bike build videos, you are a true artist my friend, and Lionel of course!
Hello Joe, Thank you my friend for your support. I still don't have news about the XS Project. Unfortunately, Leonel has been very busy lately, and the project is still on the same spot, although, i already have the new fuel tank for it. But i can say that the new fuel tank is very beautiful. It is a replica from the Norton commando interstate fuel tank. :) In what concerns to my Yamaha XS model, believe it or not, is from 1983. But you are right about one thing. The spoked wheels came from a Xs from the late 70's. That is why you thought it was the 1976/7 model. Thank you my friend for all your kind words. I appreciate your support. :) Cheers.
Love the capacity, shaft drive, and water cooled V-twin. Magnificent, where so many cafe racer styled motorcycles are radically styled, this is perfection. Bravo!
While I'm not entirely sold on some of the aesthetics (mainly the bling - and let's be honest, you just can't please everyone :) ), I can't argue that you have, without doubt, made a fantastically beautiful machine. Your comments about the seat make perfect sense: it was one of the things I noted: I think this bike has a really good stance, weight and proportions. So it's interesting to see that you changed the seat design to achieve that. I know that in the past I have disagreed with it taking the top place for best café racer of the year but that does not mean I don't think it's still a thing of beauty :) And I particularly admire your fanatical devotion to perfection and exact precision with regards the rider's experience. And like I say, while I don't agree with some of the design choices, it's still a marvellous beauty! I'm sure that if you were working on cars, you'd be an Alfa Romeo man :) I look forward to seeing the XS650 project … a fantastic start already!

Your CX never ceases to amaze me! A very nice V-Twin sound and the stance is perfect. It appears that, as with most self-conceived projects, the evolution continues. Change is inevitable. Your decision on the seat is one of those subtle improvements that tend to blend into the design. I have always enjoyed the XS. Another excellent choice that has a tremendous aftermarket following. As always, thank you for Racer TV, the Café Racers only choice! Ride safely my friend.
Have a cx 500 café myself but thís incredible sound...almost get emotional from it...😊 Also had an xs 650 myself long ago..fantastic machine...remember the frontwheel resonating while idling..lovely👌... what a beautiful engine to look at...goodluck with the project!
I left at 5 o'clock in the morning in my Geely 250 and came back late into the afternoon, tired, but happy with all the fun on the road. This Chinese bike is not yet finish to my specifications. Perhaps never be complete in all its detail. It's part of the fun and with relatively inexpensive pieces I can recreate styles that appeal to me. Then I come into my house, I leave the bike in the room and I connect to the internet to watch this week's video of Racer TV. Ready to roar Frankestein is presented in its most recent details, it is true, a custom bike will never be finished and there will always be room for one more detail. The change of the seat really is a success, not to burn tire on the pavement too. Although it would have been quite a spectacle. The surprise really impressed me there will be many moments of construction that will leave our mouths open and inspire us. A Holy Friday of motorcycles. My little house smells of that mixture of carbonized gasoline and oil on the engine, I really like that smell. A great day! Holly cow!

It's quite difficult to make a Honda look that good! Don't get me wrong, the frame is made out of pressed sheet metal and welded like some birddroppings! Yes, we're back in the early days. Now they make good looking machines. So to achive that beautiful Frankenstein you've really put some hours in the project! Well done!

The Honda is beautiful. Stunning. The sound is perfect. The stance, the color, the modification you made to the seat is spot on. The only thing that I would add, is perhaps a trim line along the bottom of the seat. It kept drawing my eye to it as if it were not quite defined, or finished... Subjective, to be sure. All in all, it is pure rolling art. It reminds me of the Jaguar automobiles, elegant. Thanks for sharing it with us.

You already know I think Frankenstein turned out beautifully but whoa what surprise you're going to be working on a xs650!! I have the 850 midnight special. I wish you'd take my bike and turn into a project. I don't have the money to do it right; but I trust you enough to know whatever you do with it be amazing! So if you ever decide to turn that rock you know where to find one buddy. Good luck with the build, it's super exciting news.
The 500 you twisted the throttle for sounded like it needed to be rejetted for more intake and exhaust airflow. I like the Dial-a-Jet parts, and found it helped a lot with one bike to file down the end of the stock carb pilot mixture screw to add more fuel at idle. Also, eyebolt baffles with stainless steel fender washers bolted to them near the exhaust tips added enough backpressure so there was more power just above idle, with very little change for the louder than stock sound. I rode an XS-650 Yamaha from 1980 to 1985. Great bike if you can live with the vibration- it was more comfortable at 60 mph instead of 75 mph.
Best sound i have ever heard from a cx. so much so i bought one. the sound is captivating.beautiful bike. I agree with CHIEF WAHOO. they would sell like hotcakes. i love your channel .keep producing your wonderful videos.

Well Sir, it is obvious that all the time spent on this build, has payed of in spades! Frankenstien is a beautiful machine, that has a song through the pipes like Heavy Metal music! Melodic and brutal all at once. By the way, I've owned two Yamaha XS 650s over time, because they do sound like my old Triumph. I cannot wait to see what you do with this next build!!!

I never really realized how great an asset skill in Photoshop is until l just now saw myself sitting before that computer screen mouse in hand creating the pictures in my mind on that screen. I recalled the many times that my ability to visualize my dream project got overwhelmed with too many options and the mental vision lost clarity. With advanced Photoshop skill you have the advantage of actually seeing your vision manifested before your eyes. Next step, 3D holographic Photoshop. And then allow a sound engineering program to design the optimum exhaust system to create the sound you want.😀

I love your channel, the content and how you present it is does excellent justice to the bike and builder. You definitely chose the right bike, the cx650 seemed to be a good donor bike - an ugly duckling turned into a beautiful swan and to look past its faults and bring out its beauty. I'm so excited to see your next project the xs650, for I own a 1980 xs650 which I have been customizing for the last 3 years and I'm keen to see what you do with it. I've ridden in the DGR the last 3 years on my xs and every time it has looked different from the last time. Keep up the good work and I look forward to following your progress on your next project.

I prefer the lower seat, possibly combined with the flatter profile for the passenger section.

You already know I think Frankenstein turned out beautifully but whoa what surprise you're going to be working on a xs650!! I have the 850 midnight special. I wish you'd take my bike and turn into a project. I don't have the money to do it right; but I trust you enough to know whatever you do with it be amazing! So if you ever decide to turn that rock you know where to find one buddy. Good luck with the build, it's super exciting news.

The 500 you twisted the throttle for sounded like it needed to be rejetted for more intake and exhaust airflow. I like the Dial-a-Jet parts, and found it helped a lot with one bike to file down the end of the stock carb pilot mixture screw to add more fuel at idle. Also, eyebolt baffles with stainless steel fender washers bolted to them near the exhaust tips added enough backpressure so there was more power just above idle, with very little change for the louder than stock sound. I rode an XS-650 Yamaha from 1980 to 1985. Great bike if you can live with the vibration- it was more comfortable at 60 mph instead of 75 mph.

Well Sir, it is obvious that all the time spent on this build, has payed of in spades! Frankenstien is a beautiful machine, that has a song through the pipes like Heavy Metal music! Melodic and brutal all at once. By the way, I've owned two Yamaha XS 650s over time, because they do sound like my old Triumph. I cannot wait to see what you do with this next build!!!

I never really realized how great an asset skill in Photoshop is until l just now saw myself sitting before that computer screen mouse in hand creating the pictures in my mind on that screen. I recalled the many times that my ability to visualize my dream project got overwhelmed with too many options and the mental vision lost clarity. With advanced Photoshop skill you have the advantage of actually seeing your vision manifested before your eyes. Next step, 3D holographic Photoshop. And then allow a sound engineering program to design the optimum exhaust system to create the sound you want.😀
My friend, as always his videos are out of the ordinary, wonderful, not to mention this bike that was perfect, a spectacle from another world, congratulations!
Now I look forward to seeing the Yamaha project, it will become a machine to be admired daily by motorcycle lovers.

I love your channel, the content and how you present it is does excellent justice to the bike and builder. You definitely chose the right bike, the cx650 seemed to be a good donor bike - an ugly duckling turned into a beautiful swan and to look past its faults and bring out its beauty.
I'm so excited to see your next project the xs650, for I own a 1980 xs650 which I have been customizing for the last 3 years and I'm keen to see what you do with it.
I've ridden in the DGR the last 3 years on my xs and every time it has looked different from the last time.
