    This song is so emotional, JaeJoong wrote it in honor of his friend who committed suicide, his friend called him before and he was in NY and he couldn't talk, they said we talk later and it never happened, so that is what this song is about... That is why it is hard for them to sing the song too...

  • @babygirladdy

    Junsu's rasp is his natural voice. he's well known for it & he talks with it too (also kinda squeaks sometimes talking & especially laughing.. At one time his nickname was dolphin bc of it). As others said, he struggled with his voice through puberty & it changed his voice a bit. His range has done nothing but expand & improve over the years, however, & he can both sing softly & belt with it. This song in particular, however, is so personal & emotional all of them do struggle to maintain vocals from a technical aspect at some points from sheer emotion. You should know they're veterans in the industry, though - they've been doing it for almost 2 decades now & consistently maintain their vocal quality & keep improving. Ironically many of the things you pointed out are actually their individual "signature" appeals lol

    It’s the first time I have seen this kind of analysis, it was very interesting to listen and I saw the whole thing. Also, this was one of the last songs they performed in this concert, Junsu (with red hair) was much better in the Tokyo Dome concerts and I think he and Jaejoong have much better technique now in 2020 (they’ve been performing for 17 years now)
    Could you do JYJ - W from A-Nation 2010? Or TVXQ Tonight from the Mirotic Tour (JYJ used to be part of TVXQ before)

      Also, the blonde one, Kim Jaejoong, is a rock singer, I’d love to see your analysis of his performance of Maze or Mine from Tokyo Dome

    Jaejoong, the yellow hair singer in the center, is the one who wrote and composed this song, adding to his great vocals he is great songs writer too

    Xiah Junsu sings with a lot of feeling and a lot of force for a reason: when he was passing into his teenage years, he almost lost his voice. For that reason, he promised to sing with his soul all the songs when he was able to recover.
    Clinically, I don't know what the current state of his vocal cords will be, but he has maintained the same tone and intensity of his voice for many years that he has been practicing as a singer.
    His advice is excellent, and I hope Junsu can watch this recommendations to preserve the magnificent voice that he has for many, many more years.
    Thank you and greetings from Bolivia.

    I love your analysis, I can't sing at all, but I always enjoy just learning more about it. Junsu (the redhead) alway sounds a bit raspy, even when he talks, but there was something definitely wrong with his voice during this performance, since he didn't even try to attempt to do some of the high notes he does in the studio recording and in other live performances of this song. (He is doing musical theater nowadays, his singing improved overall even I can hear it who knows near nothing about singing)

    They are the former TVXQ members but they quit because of their company...They are no.1 boy group before...You can listen to all of the song...It's so good... I recommend Mirotic ..JYJ have each meaning.. The letters represent their name Jaejoong (yellow), Yoochun (black) and Junsu (red)..And they always sing that way from the beggining...It's just like their style..love your opinion♥️

    This is a fun fact nobody has brought up yet, the black haired one (Yoochun) is a very famous actor, he has 31 awards and was highly praised by the director of Parasite back in the day, I think it helps him express himself when he sings
    Agree with everyone else that JJ (blond hair) and JS (red hair) are both very emotionally affected in this perf, as mentioned before this song was written by JJ for Park Yongha after he committed suicide which def has something to do with it

  • @marypeters1928
    @marypeters1928 Před 4 lety +7

    Junsu - the red hair - has a unique vocal quality, he also has amazing control and often choses to push for a raspy emotional sound on purpose. He's been doing it for years and mostly has survived with his voice intact.

  • @humimeyra8346
    @humimeyra8346 Před 3 lety +6

    Actually Xia Junsu (red hair) has naturally a husky/raspy voice, luckily he isn't ill or having struggles while singing, it's just the tune of his voice which after hitting puberty changed 👌🏼

    They have been doing this for 17 years. Xia is just Xia Junsu... your technical but he is brilliant and always has been. This is just one song in a concert, I've watched them for 2 hours and he does just fine through the entire concert... even today.

  • @justyna3869
    @justyna3869 Před 4 lety +5

    Yeah as some already said red hair guy is Junsu and he shouldn't even sing at all. When puberty hit him doctor said he will not be singer. But it was Junsu's dream, he didn't give up and he screamed lyrics... He admitted that this probably damaged his voice. But he sings many years yet and even if not technically perfect no one could say his voice isnt unique. You said about showing emotions and that's exactly how he uses what he has - expressing pure emotions through songs and performances. He also found his place in musicals world. Maybe he will not sing as long as others but he makes his dream come true and I respect that. I personally love listen to him, as he sings or speaks haha
    It was really interesting how you notice something is of and I think it important to know the background of his sound. It would be amazing if you could react to more of his performances example "I love you" live. Greetings

    I really love this reaction, the way you explained the performance like with the glitter, the hair colors etc. In regards to Xia (Red-head, you should check out some of his solo stuff, his voice truly is unique), like what Dora said, he has really strained a lot in the past and throws his body about quite a bit for the emotion of the song (lol) but he has definitely improved thanks to his Musical Theatre performances, like Mozart, Dracula etc. (his performance of I want to avoid my destiny is gorgeous, Park Hyo Shin has also done this song), if you want to check out more of JYJ, I reccommend Love In The Ice, which is by DBSK, so it's the 3 of them and 2 other previous members. With Xia, I really would like to see what you think of him solo, so live performances like Flower or the Tohoshinki Medley he did! :)

    Thank you for analysing this song.
    I am Korean so i cannot understand your analysis 100%. But it is really fun and helpful!!
    This song ' In heaven ' is written and composed by the White hair guy.
    It is a commemorating song of late 박용하, who is a artist. (the white hair guy really respect and like him).
    Plus,
    The red hair went through puberty for three years after his debut. Because of the voice break, he was distressed. But he kept practicing, singing and sometimes screaming. So his throat was strained and his voice became really unique. It's been 17 years since his debut, but his throat condition is fine.

    Can you please do a reaction to other JYJ or TVXQ ballads? They have some super powerful ballads, most breathtaking I’ve seen in kpop & the in ballad genre in general, that I wish more would recognize since they’re more of an older group. Preferably JYJ’s W, or TVXQ’s Love in the Ice, Heart Mind and Soul, or Bolero. 💕💕💕

    Can you do analysis on BIGBANG?
    They're called Kings of KPop before BTS era and their live performances are always great. I recommend their MAMA performance. Their 2013 & 2015 performances are generally considered their best live performance but you can pick any live performance from BIGBANG if you want

    I have seen a lot of times Junsu's neck veins. I think he's straining too much. I'm not a professional, so I might be wrong, but it feels like it's unhealthy. Also, knowing his problem he had with his voice when was still a trainee (when he hit puberty), worries me the possibility of not being able to sing anymore. He truly loves singing. He was born to be a singer.
