I’m sure people are going to jump all over me for this but here goes: I’m surprised to see him touching the positive while his hand is on the frame and even more surprised to see him touching both terminals at the same time.
The reason I came to no harm is because the voltage is not sufficient to pass through my skin. It takes at least 30 volts to even cause a tingling sensation and the battery is only 12 volts.
I was pulling the positive first and saw sparks when touched another nut on the same terminal. Did i fry the old battery cause it won't charge now, barely made it home
i mistakenly plugged the negative first and got sparks, when i realized, i disconnected and started with red first and then the negative, and then i had smoke coming from the fuse block and blown the 30a fuse and the negative wire looked not so good at the the fuse terminal.
My truck has two batteries and in haste disconnected both positives then put one back on. When I saw sparks I took the negative off both then put the positives on both then both negatives. I clearly wasn’t thinking. So now the instruments and some lights work but it doesn’t crank anymore. No sound at all. I can’t tell which battery cranks but is suspect it’s the passenger side battery. It’s ‘16 titan diesel, was trying to disconnect batteries before swapping out the fuel filters .
Been having issues with car. I always have to jump it to get it going. Today but accident i took off positive first by accident cause it was late and dark. spark came and car shut off completely. Tried again wouldnt start. Should i try again tommorow? and yes it is a new battery aswell
@@WrenchesToRiches Copy should i take to auto zone? And any idea what could be issue ? i just bought new batter and wont start without jumping. When i turn it off shuts right off and have to jump again. Doesnt stall or anything.
@@WrenchesToRiches I did exactly that. My issue I had is that the battery I got has 4 terminals so when you angle it to slide it in, it arcs on the subframe.
What happeneds if you did a lil weld now my trucks lights seem wierd and I stripped my negative bolt and was tryna take out the positive I didn’t notice it was long enough to touch the negative it made a lil weld but did not stick together any advice ? I should take and do cause my truck turns on good and everything but I just look at the dash and has a wierd lighting to it now
Great explanation ! Thanks

And this is a small channel. You won't get made fun of here. I'd love to help you out if you need any more clarification

Thank you. That’s good to know.
Great video!
Thanks!
thanks for explaining. Appreciate it
Glad it was helpful!

Yes, this makes sense!
I never knew that, good to know
Yeah, it's not often that the average person even deals with it

Did you reverse them by accident?

Are there any fuses in line? Can you check battery voltage with a meter?
@@WrenchesToRiches is there a way I can send you a photo of what it looks like? I don’t have a meter handy.
You got Instagram?
@@WrenchesToRiches there is an immediate fuse on the passenger positive and it didn’t sever.
@@WrenchesToRiches yea

Just check the voltage. Battery might need charged up a little. It's unlikely you did serious damage if you just made some sparks

Could have bad alternator or not be well connected. You would need a multimeter to diagnose
@@WrenchesToRiches ok thanks after doing that . Did i fuck something else up now?
Probably not. Just misdiagnosed the original problem. Originally, before you replaced the battery, did the car die while running?
Getting a new battery in my 1125CR is the worst job ever🤣
Just move the fuse box over and it goes in pretty easy from the front
@@WrenchesToRiches I did exactly that. My issue I had is that the battery I got has 4 terminals so when you angle it to slide it in, it arcs on the subframe.
Oh man! Why did you get a battery like that? Was it a LIPo or something?
@@WrenchesToRiches I ordered the same battery as I had before but they have since upgraded that model to a 4 terminal battery
What if you already made the mistake, is there any remedy?
Did you just make some sparks or did a wrench weld itself to something?
@@WrenchesToRiches it made some sparks
It's fine
@@WrenchesToRiches thanks

Well we just almost caused a fire on my car now it’s really fucked up.
How?
I didn’t understand this
All you need to keep in mind is just.. *if only 1 cable is connected it should be positive*
